I should be able to fix the next one to install overtop. Thanks for the feedback on this.

ummm, the new plugin does not work(for me at least). it said "
fail to load game. This is often cause by a download error or another game running in a different window."

It says it for the gba, and the snes now, the snes worked in till I download the new one. It maybe because the plugin is a beta, I'm not sure, help me please...

Anyways, the plugin's great, David, I'm just still having trouble with N64... maybe it's my computer, I'm not sure. Oh, well. I can still play SM 64 in the meantime.

That happens to quite a few of the pokémon games but other pokémon games still save. You'll probably have more trouble with the ones that have day/night cycles. Other GBA games save as well. I've been playing FE: TSS & it saves just fine. Thank goodness it saves. I just can't lose a person so I keep resetting.

lol

I recommend Virtual PC for Mac and roms + emulators from http://www.get-your-rom.com/ until there is Mac support.

*gives an exasperated sigh* Does EVERYONE have to be told this personally? Did you try double-clicking the screen and then setting your own controls? If not, then do that now. Please.

Oh, and thanks Surgiac, You're right, Banjo-Kazooie Grunty's Revenge saved fine for me. I wish those Pokemon games would save right though!

If you want to download the games, please visit http://www.get-your-rom.com/ David owns that site as well, so you can trust it.

Also, could you give us more information as to what you mean by you can't use it? Whats your OS/internet browser? If you give no information it is impossible for us to find a solution for you.

I've played two hacks of Pokemon:FireRed version so far, and both games recieve a save error: It says "The 1M sub-circuit board is not installed."

Attempts to save games results in a save error. Is this fixable?

For right now, some games won't be able to save properly, SarothCyngus. I had this trouble with Red Rescue Team and Liquid Crystal version. It should be fixed with the full release of the plug-in.

That's kinda silly to ask, if I had the choice of course I would've made it so you didn't need a plugin but since there are just no java emulators out there for these systems, I had to take the plugin route. You're unable to install things on your school computer? Becuase you could install it and delete the folder from All Programs and than there'd be no trace of it.

Also, I don't appreciate the language.

I have absolutely no Idea what I should do, so if you can figure out what's going on, that'll be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Where do the screenies go? For the ones that can take screeenies at least. I don't think you can for GBA unless you used your computer's built in screenie taker.

I think F12 or F11 take screenshots with the GBA but not sure where it stores them (client side, not server side yet).

I'm still having a problem with the screen being cut off on the right and bottom sides...and that happens in firefox. So i tried it in internet explorer and the only button that works is the enter key. Any suggestions as to how i might fix any of those problems?

Actually, is there any Action Replay-esque sort of thing for an emulator? 'Cause I could use one for the 5th gym leader in Pkmn Quartz Version.

There are emulators that can run cheats (I have maxed out stats on Superstar Saga on my emulator), but I'm not sure if the plugin will be able to later, SarothCyngus. But yeah, emulators can run codes for Action Replay, GameShark, and stuff like that.

When I try to play a, N64 or GBA game it gives me an error box that says "Failed to load game. This is often caused by a download error or another game running in a different window." I am using the latest versions of both Internet Explorer and Firefox, Windows Vista, and I am not running another game in a different window, nor will it work even if I close all other windows of any kind. I tried restarting the browsers and the computer, but to no effect. I tried to re-download it first to see if I could get it to work, even though it is most likely because this version is incomplete. During the download, it said I had another version downloaded and I need to delete that one first. Now I can't find the plugin program on my computer to attempt it.

What is the default name of the plugin program? Is it normal that I would need to delete the old version to download the new one? Also, will the plugin notify when the new version is available or try to download it automatically?

To remove the plugin you go to start menu, control panel, programs and features and you click the plugin on the list then choose unistall.
Yes, you need to remove the old version to use the new one.
No, it will not try and update automatically or notify.
Those options, notification, auto update and installing the new version over the old will be worked on later I beleive.

I was just wondering if you were planning to post a download for macs to play these games? I've tried downloading the plug-in using crossover, but it still didn't work.

So yeah. Time and money is what's needed for Mac support.

I've gotten as far as the programs and features, but I don't know the name of the program. The only thing in there I think might be it is the "Vizzed Retro Game Room" program, but that doesn't sound right. I need the default name it stores the program as. Or is that it?

In a future update do you think you could add a menu for the N64 and the GBA that allows you do change the screen size, like the menu for the SNES? I'm still having problems with screen being cut off on games that use the plugin, but I found that the menu in the SNES could fix it.

Heads up, Vizzed RGR Plugin v0.95 should be released sometime in the morning, most issues that users are having should be fixed with this release thanks to Tom's effort on getting these problems figured out.

I posted a new version that users can help me test with. It's unofficial, but for me it seems to play much better w/ N64. Also N64 saves should work on the server now. Should also fix some browser crashes.

Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the forum.

Let me know how this works for whoever wants to try it

You will have to uninstall the prev version before installing this one. I'll try and get the next release to not require that.

well, it ran the games better than it has before. N64 loaded quickly and on the first try.... but closing games and loading other games started to become buggy after loading a few. But you seem to know about it already

Your probably running Win XP, huh?

The main bug I fixed probably only happens on Vista / Win7.

Anyways, I posted an update. Might not work any better for WinXP. This one can install overtop the old (no uninstall needed)

I haven't done much checking for memory leaks. That could be the cause of the slowdown. Comments back about which systems it happens on are good. If you close the browser and open again it would probably fix that. I hadn't noticed it myself though.

yeah, I'm running XP.

It works really well if I sit down to play a single game and then close that game and stop playing and I don't play any other games until I exit my browser and come back later. It's multiple switches between games that is a problem. But if that is my worst problem then I'm not gonna complain about it

It might show up more for users with low RAM. I'll have to listen to feedback from others.

Is this thing ever going to be able to run GBC games? Because I can't play those, and I can only play things on this program.

Mattman, all you need to run GBC games is java. You should be able to play the games with one of the Java emulators.

The N64 games definitely load faster.

I think this is actually problems with the roms themselves but in Pokémon Snap, you can't move the camera & when you do take pictures, they don't seem to register & it's as if you had none. Plus you can't save in game. Both that game & Pokémon Stadium 2 crashed my browser when I hit the close game button. I use Firefox. Other than that, it appears to be alright.

How does server side saving work anyway? Do you still need to use the in game save? If so, then some games still won't save.

I've had the crashes to several times. It's tricky to track down. Maybe I'll get some leads on it though.

Thanks for the input on Pokemon Snap, I'll test with that game.

Saving to server was supposed to work. I just thought of a case I didn't handle though. It's maybe what your seeing happen. After the official new release you will have to let me know if it works better.

Ha - don't be so hard on the guy for asking if it has a virus, after all, you can't be too careful with downloads, but I scanned it, so I can give more testimony that it's clean! For some reason, I downloaded the plug-in, but the only button that works on the emulator is the enter key. I used the arrow keys, and S,D, and F, like it said, but they weren't working for some reason. (This is for NES). Should I just re-install the plug-in? Also, when I tried playing a Genesis game, it totally screwed up my computer and I had to restart. What can I do to fix that?

Okay... I downloaded the Plugin. I have Safari and have tried to play multiple games including Pokemon Emerald, Mother 3, Doom and Earthbound.

It hasn't worked once. They all say that they couldn't detect the Plugin.

I have tried restarting my computer, emptying my cache and restarting safari.

Still.. nothing.
If anyone has some suggestions, I would really like to hear them. I have really been looking forward tho these games and am disappointed that this doesn't work.

Also, when I tried playing a Genesis game, it totally screwed up my computer and I had to restart. What can I do to fix that?

What browser do you use? You might want to try trying in IE or Firefox (whichever your not currently using)

Genesis does change the computers display color depth. This will make screen go black for a moment. Not sure if that's what your referring to.

I wouldn't expect reinstalling to change anything.

Your the first person I've heard who has tried Safari. Sounds like that browser just isn't supported right now. Try loading IE, Firefox, or Chrome.

I fixed Safari support for the next release. Should be out within a few days.

I can't speak with techno mumbo jumbo(:p), but the Vista I use is also 32 bit, I use Firefox, & I have no graphics card. It works fine for me. Do you hit the close game button? That may solve the "failed to load" problem but I'm not sure how to help with the D-Pad problems.

The first time I downloaded it, the SNES games worked, but locked up some times, and the N64 and GBA games didn't load at all. I re-downloaded it and now they all load up, but only the enter key works, like you. I'd guess that it'll be cleared up with v1.0 though.

Because he had to I think. He wasn't supposed to be using that emulator so he switched over to the RGR plugin when it was finished.

I like the new systems but if you could i would recommend adding a volume for the games. because a lot of games have repetitive BMG and I like muting the sound.

I see it was delayed to late February, but hey, late February is my birthday!!! That makes two things to look forward to! Keep up the good work, Davideo7!

EDIT: For all you guys who are having issues running the new content, I had the same problems with IE. (64-bit and all) Strangely enough, FF works perfect for me. Something to try just in case it's not just me.

You double click the screen to see control options. To see the controller you plugged in, use the drop down box in the menu that appears.

You double click the screen to see control options. To see the controller you plugged in, use the drop down box in the menu that appears.

It's the same thing with the keyboard. "Keyboard" should be in the drop down box. When you have that selected, click the buttons that say, for example "A", "B", "Start", etc. and assign them to the keyboard by pressing that key.

I personally would use a keyboard for now because the controller option is super-sensitive. I found a thread that you may find useful. All credit goes to cweie14 because the quote below is from him.

PLAYER 1

A=A B=S Z=Z L=C R=D

C BUTTONS LEFT=J RIGHT=L DOWN=K UP=I

D-PAD LEFT=F RIGHT=H DOWN=H UP=T

PLAYER 2

LEFT=4 RIGHT=6 DOWN=5 UP=8 (make same for D-PAD works also with PLAYER 1

A=0 B=. Z= ENTER L=+ R=*

C BUTTONS UP=/ DOWN =1 (or 3) LEFT =7 RIGHT=9

and yeah TRUST ME TAKES 5 min to get used to

Assign the keys like so and allow 5 minutes at the least to get used to the setup, as he said.

Or, if you're like me & play MMOs, you can use a similar setup for movement with that.

Up = W
Down = S
Left = A
Right = D

L Button = Q
R Button = E
Z Button = Z

Start = Enter

A = 2 on the number pad
B = 1 on the number pad
X = 5 on the number pad
Y = 4 on the number pad

C Buttons:
Up = Up arrow
Down = Down Arrow
Left = Left Arrow
Right = Right Arrow

Just find something that works for you.
