Jordanv78 : Even the new version of the plug-in doesn't download games. I tried it yesterday, then reinstalled 2.12 when games wouldn't download, except it doesn't work in 2.12, either. Something's going on. I posted a thread about it and MANY users are having the same issue.

Yunimori : I've not experienced this problem aside from the people that hadn't updated to the version that was released on Friday. Ensure you are running version 2.25 so the MANY people thing seems a little misleading. There were a handful of users that responded to that thread that are all newer members that didn't realize a new version was released over the weekend or that really understand how it works in the first place. So things like that may be compounding the issue.

Jordanv78 : I am not running the newest version NOW, no, because when games refused to download under the newest version (after install and restart just like always) I uninstalled it and reinstalled 2.12, which was the last version that was working for me. Now, however, even that version does not work. I can play games I had previously downloaded just fine, but downloading any new ones? Nope, doesn't happen, just like with 2.25. "Error, ROM did not download" or something like that.

I'm not sure what is going on, but it is doing it with two versions, not just one.

Yunimori : Both previous versions worked fine for the most part, this newer problem is something different. If neither update worked for everyone, this site would be up in arms and we would be addressing it. This seems like a specific problem to a small amount of users within a certain environment.

asdren : You did not do it "for nothing" I need to know what you have done in order to figure out what the best solution is. Since I can't physically be there to look at your computer, we need to take steps in order to figure out what the problem might be.

A few questions to you both:

1. What version of windows are you running?

2. Have you tried more than one web browser to see if the problem is consistent?

Seems like the problem is something is blocking you from downloading new files from the server, as it sounds like games that are already on your hard drive work just fine, so what we have to figure out is, what might be blocking you from downloading the new roms/isos that you want to play

tRIUNE : Any insight you could add here? Is something going on with the server that houses the roms? I can't download new files either.

To answer your questions:

1. I am running windows Vista and have had no trouble at all up until now.

2. Yes, I have. Chrome and Firefox, and the problem is consistent. The plug-in loads fine, but downloads never start. I have the plug-in in my always allowed list for both browser-running and my firewall, and as  I said, before attempting to update to the newest version, things ran fine. 

I am going to attempt to install 2.25 again and restart again, just in case it was something wonky on my end during the previous install, but we shall see.

Yunimori : I'm thinking that the problem might be due to something weird going on with the server that houses the ROM/ISO files. I'll check in with tRIUNE and David and see if they can find anything.

Jordanv78 : I don't see any problems within the servers which host the game files. Of course, that doesn't mean that there isn't one, I can only view files on the servers and upload files to the servers, but I don't manage them. Davideo7 is the manager of the servers.


Anyways, this problem isn't a new problem. It was happening a couple years ago without a definitive cause or solution. Wish I could help, but I have no idea, sorry.

tRIUNE : Totally understand. Thanks for the help. This seemed to be an issue with everyone that just popped up in the last day or so where people are not allowed to play any game that requires a DL.

Jordanv78 : Welp, I am now affected by this dilemma for the 2nd time.

I don't know how I'm going to add any more games to the retro game room because I have to test them with the RGR Plugin.

tRIUNE : What does this mean ? That we never cant play games here ? Is this right ? Many of us here found  ideal website  to remember their childhoods.Most of us can not play because one of you has done something yesterday that was different from the 2 years that I am here. I played here everyday because this is my dream site but I am furious when I think that this problem can not be solved.Sorry but I'm really upset about this situation.

asdren : That's not what he means. It means that it seems that the only person that can fix this is Davideo. So we are in the process of trying to get that done. You should still be able to play games you already have played/downloaded in the meantime until we can figure out what the problem is. Please be patient.

tRIUNE : Is David aware of this situation? It's been going on for a couple days now and lots of PM's/threads are being made about it.

Jordanv78: I thought of something last night, but forgot to post it or ask you. I think I know when this started almost exactly. It was right after the rickroll "Pokemon X" thing went up for April 1st. I don't know how that will help, but considering I had downloaded a game just before it and it worked, but didn't work right after...

Edit: ANd all of my summons are failing again without me knowing why. *sigh*

Jordanv78 : No, I am not able to play games that I had dwonload before......I dont know maybe is the fact that I download rgr 2.25  (before I had downloaded rgr plugin (2.11). I do not know what to think now but what I know is that I can not play any game because the games doesnt load.

Just thought I'd add my experience. I have Windows 8.1, Google Chrome, and I downloaded the plugin about 2 days ago, but because I'm lazy, I didn't install it straight away, and had a play around on a game with the older plugin, then I went out for a bit, came back and tried to play the same game. It didn't load. So I installed the new plugin, restarted n' everything, and still no luck. Some of the older games I've played still work. Not sure if any of this will help, but I hope things get back to normal without too much trouble for the guys having to sort it out. 

after installing the newest plugin most of the roms don't download it always stays at o%.

It seems that the problem that was going on for the past few days has been resolved. I've tested it on my end and all seems good. Please let me know if you are still having the same issue.
