Ugh..another boring supercool thread.

So does your computer run 32-bit OS or 64-bit OS? I bet most of you run 64-bit.

First of all this is off topic but hey nice Nasus Layout . Do you play league of legends??

Now I still run 32-bit OS because I do not yet own a computer of my own but I will build mine before the end of May hopefully and I will buy a 64 bit OS. I am still deciding whther I should go windows 8 or windows 7 since I am going to upgrade either of those into windows 10 as soon as it comes out. I prefer to run 64 bit since all the games are compartible and well I can't run dying light if I am in 32 bit so I am still waiting on buying that game after I build my own computer.

32-bit downstairs on my lame computer
64-bit upstairs on my gaming computer

What's even the difference? All I've heard is that some programs are 64-bit exclusive or run faster.

TheFadedWarrior : from what I looked up on the internet....64 bit handles lots of RAM more better than 32 bit. Also RAM is limited with 32 bit, anything over 4 GB is incapable of running 32 bit OS

I really do not see the difference, I had 2 computers at one point. One was a 32 and one was a 64. Did it run better than the 32? I honestly could not tell. It depends what is in your computer. But I have heard that 64 runs better than 32 when it comes to graphics, so I will go with 64.

As mentioned, a 64bit means it can run 4GB or ram and over.

So in other words, 32 bit will soon be a rarity, as almost all PCs are coming with enormous amounts of RAM, though laptops will still hand on the 32bit for a tiny bit longer. There's really not much difference, other than the need to install software in two separate "program files" folders, depending on if the application is meant for 64bit or 32bit. But even that usually doesn't really matter.

I use a 64-bit tablet. It runs so much faster than any 32-bit computer I've used in the past.

Unfortunately, it's not geared for modern gaming, so I switch to my old 32-bit when I want to play something.

It does "run" some intensive design programs. It just overheats too quickly.

If you buy a computer nowadays, they will mostly be 64 bit operating systems. Both of mine computers are 64-bit and they are working quite well and fast.

Even though I've had 64-bit capable hardware for years, it wasn't until recently that I have finally experienced it. This was due to my inability to cheaply track down 64-bit Windows licenses. My latest build started out with the 64-bit version of the Windows 10 technical preview, which has now upgraded to 10 Pro x64. I sorta need 64 bits in order to access my 8GB of RAM (32-bit operating systems top out at ~4GB).
