Dark Souls III is a thing. It would make WAY to much money for FromSoftware to pass up the opportunity. I feel like the shining part of this game should be the Sunbro Summon mechanic above all besides gameplay. Here are my basic ideas on what we might like to see in the Sunbro Covenant.

First off, make the shrine iconic and memorable. Put it in a place that makes a lot of sense yet is very cryptic to keep the mystery factor high. Make it in a place that challenges the player against a dark creature to build up the rewards of being a Sunbro.

That brings up my next point, Rewards. I'd personally like to see a few things. One, a reincarnation of Solaire's Sun Shield in two forms. An old mossy and rusty version, and a clean reflective one. If possible, add a glowing effect to the Sun emblem on the shield. Two, add the sunlight blade to the covenant rewards, yet tint it a bit more gold and less yellow. After that, add the Sunlight spear.

Here's where my crazy ideas come into play. I'd like to see an ascension mechanic that allows the covenant to be ranked up beyond 3. This could be acquired by searching out Solaire's hidden summon soap stone. Make it gold like the message sign stone from Dark Souls I. This would be an amazing idea because in Dark souls I & II, I felt like the Sunbro covenant became progressively useless as a rank 3. This would keep the player a Sunbro the entire game (or at least mostly).

Ascended rewards could include new spells, such as a spell that allows you to conjure up a sword made of pure sunlight for 1:30. Things that make you feel like you are aided by the sun, not just granted physical gifts but given pure sunlight to mold into a weapon or shield buff. Sunlight Shield Cast? I don't know. Put your suggestions below. I'd love to read them.

Honestly, to a certain point, I feel like every covenant should have an equal amount of love put into it. The Pilgrims of Dark is barely even a covenant in Dark Souls 2, since it has no PvP or Co-op things to be done and the only thing it actually does is open up a few extra areas and a bonus boss.

But I definitely understand how you want more love to be put into the Sunbro's covenant. When you reach Rank 3, the only things it really does are making you slightly more effective as a phantom summoned to another world and making your summon sign glow bright yellow. Although your ideas sound good on paper, how much of a chance do you think there is that the stuff you're describing wouldn't be overpowered or easy to abuse in some way?

Also, if they're going to make an "ascension" mechanic that lets a player reach higher ranks for one covenant, they should make an "ascension" mechanic for every covenant. Otherwise, why would you choose a non-Sunbro covenant, unless you just wanted to do PvP? As I said before, there should be an equal amount of work and effort put into every covenant. People will complain if one covenant obviously has way more effort put into it than any other.
