I'm going to assume this is the right place for this, but if it's not, feel free to move it. Anyways, recently, one of my good friends who shall remain anonymous (due to the fact he is not a member of Vizzed) has asked me to voice act for a Five Nights at Freddy's animation he's working on. He asked me to be Purple Guy and Springtrap. The only problem with this is, is that another one of my friends, also asked to be the same character. So now, the creator of the animation says to send him a sound file of our voice auditions. I just thought you all wanted to know what's going on with me currently and what I'm doing about it. And I have a question. If I get the part, I don't want my friend to be angry with me, but if he gets the part, then I'll have no place in the animation. What do you guys think I should do about this situation? By the way, I'll post my voice audition here with a reply once I finish it.

Makalya : Thanks, it really helps me to hear that you like it. To be honest, this is actually the first time I've ever voice acted for something, so I'm kind of surprised that some people actually like it. Again, thanks for the kind words.

The second one was horrible and it makes me wonder if you can sustain the strain on your vocal cords.  You don't sound comfortable and it doesn't sound like a repeatable and workable voice.

The first was okay.

I recommend taking Toastmasters or public speaking classes.  Find something at a local library or a college or university.  Take forensics in high school.  Those types of classes and programming allow you to develop inflection, pace, dialect, and methods of speaking.

The problem with both of your submissions for voice acting is they sound exactly that: They sound like you're voice acting.  The trick is find a way to seem regular, at peace with yourself, even if the characters are all over the spectrum of personality.  I should be able to play a serial killer and you would believe it's just someone there talking, not a person behind a microphone.

You're learning the process.  Keep trying and find someone to mentor you.    The first one wasn't too bad but it was obviously amateur.  Keep working and you'll improve.

LunarDarkness2 : I like your voice :3. For Purple Guy, it was awesome. As for Spring Trap, the quality was a bit bad. As for your friend, why not you voice Purple Guy and the other friend Spring Trap?

Interesting. I have to say the voices sounded a bit similar, though.

Let me get this straight.  You're asking for help and some ideas and when I come and tell you you need work, you don't want to hear it?  And you have this opportunity and you send poor quality for evaluation.

Okay, you want everyone to tell you an awesome job you're doing, even if it's not true?  Would you rather we lie and say...

Fine.

"Man, those were both great!  That's awesome voicing and you don't need any improvement.  Obviously, you'll get the job you're looking for.  Great work!"

I hope that solves everything.  Please don't let my earlier constructive criticism get in the way of a nice compliment next time.  I don't have any idea how asking for help and then hearing what a great job you did is going to help.

Alright, perhaps I'm a tad too excited, ha, ha!

But I would LOVE to see the animation, especially knowing that one of my closest friends on Vizzed is voicing a character in it! You shouldn't worry about upsetting the other guy. If he's mature, he'll take it well, I'm sure.

And yes. He WILL take it well. Not "would". You're winning this, hands down .

warmaker : Sorry about that dilemma. The only reason I got angry is the way you worded your post. Especially the beginning where you said the first one was horrible. I agree, it was horrible, but you could've worded it a bit nicer. Plus, I sorta missed the part where you said, "The first one was fine." Sorry about that.
