Hi There,
My name is KC & I came across Vizzed & having a love for old games & a little bit of experience with emulators, figured I'd climb aboard as a member.  My gaming experience goes back to playing Pong on the Atari 2600 & 5200, then an Intellivision before getting the ultimate; the Atari 7800.  Time went on & I got a Nintendo NES, a Sega Genesis, a Gameboy/ DS & 3DS, then the original Xbox, an Xbox 360, Nintendo GameCube & circa 1998, I had a HONKIN', bad to the bone Gateway that I had a MAME emulator & at least 300 roms/games on it.  Being that I am a 44 (soon to be 45) year old woman, some find it odd that I have such love for video games, but they are a great stress reliever & a lot of fun too.  I live in the suburbs of Philadelphia (in Southern New Jersey) with my husband & a veritable zoo of pets (dog, cats, birds, fish).  Aside from video gaming, I enjoy reading, writing, gardening, bird watching, fast cars & driving them (namely Fords & I am a Mustang aficionado), shooting guns (at targets) & getting out into nature as much as possible.  I love the beach & the mountains & hope to get back into biking as I have bad knees & am trying to stay away from surgery for as long as possible.  I look forward to meeting others & getting back into playing games via this emulator, but need to buy a USB compatible PC controller as my old one is the type that you would screw into a port on the back of your desktop tower & uh... there ain't one available on my 5 month old tower.  So, can anyone make a recommendation for a controller that can be used with the majority of the old arcade games (I was excited to find The New Zealand Story, which is mucho lame-o, available here
but is I game I liked.)  Thanks for your time & for any future replies with suggestions for a new PC controller.

Pong, huh? Have you ever heard of this song? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNAdtkSjSps

As for the PC controller, I really like how easy the XBOX ONE controller is to use on PC. All you need is a microUSB cord. I am sure you can buy one separately, seeing as how I got mine with my PS4.

Welcome to Vizzed! It's awesome to see someone into games like you are, as it's rare for me to find someone who can challenge me in my love of gaming, but you may give me a run for my money. Also I like New Zealand Story too. xD Never heard anyone mention it before now though, not sure why.

And I recently found out that the Atari 2600 was the first system I played, but I'm not sure what game it was. A few favorites from the NES were Kid Icarus, Toobin', and all three Super Mario Bros. New found favorites would be Little Nemo and Splatterhouse - Wanpaku graffiti.

Enough about me though, this is your intro thread. lol So with that many MAME ROMs you must have had some favorites. What were they, and are Knuckle Bash, Zupapa, The Percussor, Strikers 1945, or Metal Slug among them?

As for controllers, I used one that was a dualshock knock off and it was great. So I'd suggest either one of those or a PS4 controller. I've never used the latter, but I hear they're easy to configure.
