Tetris is a game that we all know and love, and as the years go on, the game only seems to get better. The Windows Phone version is fun and puts together all those years of addicting game play into one mobile game. I was never really a big fan of Tetris because I could never seem to do well in it but for me this version is a blast.
GRAPHICS 7/10
For graphics, I would have to say that the game js a perfect blend of colorfulness but also blandness. The game looks good but its also very simple, its really just a bunch of different colored shapes falling down and you really dont need anything spectacular for that. I feel that the developers did just a bit more with this one to make it a tad better than older games and it looks pretty decent for a mobile game so my grade for graphics is going to be a 7 out of 10.
SOUND 10/10
The sound is amazing as a whole and I dont even care much for the regular sounds of the game, what I am talking about is the amazing theme song for the series which I feel is incredibly catchy. I would probably have to say that the theme song for this game could be just as iconic as the music that's in angry birds and I could listen to it over and over, especially the version dont by the London Philharmonic orchestra which is clearer and better. Just the music alone is enough to give this aspect of the game a perfect 10 out of 10.
ADDICTIVENESS 10/10
Ita Tetris, so the game is obviously addicting, there isn't really much to do in the game aside for piling up the blocks, but there's something about that that makes the game fun. Heck, there's a ton of different remakes and spin off of the game which proves that this kind of a game is quite popular. I can easily find myself playing the game for an hour or more because its a good game. Basically there isn't much, but what is there is a blast and my grade for addictiveness will be an another perfect 10 out of 10.
STORY N/A
Well, what can I really say for a story? Its Tetris so by nature, there really isn't going to be a story at all. All you are trying to do is try to stay alive without hitting the top for as long as you can and you're trying to get as high of a score as you can, but that's it really. There's no pure story or anything so I can't really give it a grade.
DEPTH 6/10
I wouldn't really say that there's that much when it comes to depth and again that's because its a really simple game that generally only has one mode and one objective, though this one does offer a bit more than the standard game and offers a slightly better experience than some of the others. There's a few different types of games for you to go through but that's really all there is to it, not much else so my grade for depth is going to be 6 out of 10.
DIFFICULTY 5
There really isn't anything easier than dropping blocks to make lines, but there's something about it that I always found to be challenging. With this kind of a game, it's possible that one mistake can really mess you up. You could have every block except for one lined up in a row, but if you accidently cover that up, not only do you lose that line until you fill up another one, but you could lose multiple lines at once and there's no way of knowing if you would get them back. With a game like this you need to be really careful and you also need to be patient. The game can be difficult but not too much and my grade for it is going to be an even 5.
OVERALL 8.4/10
Overall, this is one of the most fun, and most convenient of the the Tetris games that I ever played. If you have a windows phone and you like Tetris then I do suggest you give this one a whirl because its a smart and fun way to waste away some time. I must have played a total of at least 5 hours and I can still go back every now and then and play it a little more. Its fun and my overall grade for Tetris Blitz will be an 8.4 out of 10.
