DR. POSTMAN'S TOTALLY BOGUS HEALTH TIPS

#1 Exercise.

Nobody expects you to run a marathon or even leave the house. Just get up and walk around your place a bit. Pacing while thinking is recommended.

If you get around by wheelchair and don't walk, just wheel yourself about a bit with those strong arms.

Make sure to flex your arms to emphasize how strong they are.

I heard that thinner people are more prone to fidgeting so I guess that may be another more constant form of exercise because they do it.
Try knocking your knees together in your seat. Try stretching and curling a finger at a time. Rub your hands together. Stamp your feet a little. If you stand up for whatever reason, try shifting from one foot to the other while you stand. Play with your face even if it doesn't itch. This all counts as exercise.

So you see. Exercise doesn't have to be strenuous or even moderately difficult. You just have to move a little bit.

#2 A burger a day keeps the doctor away.

Burgers have lettuce, tomatoes and other stuff that might be part of a salad. This might be healthier for you if you don't usually eat salads.
Burgers can be made with just about any kind of meat including beef, poultry and fish. McDonald's, Burger King, A&W. Whoever makes your favourite burger, you should go and see them. If you make the perfect burger, light up the grill and invite some friends. Ketchup and other specialty sauces tend to be delicious and are probably good for you.

Note: If something tastes good, it is probably good for you. Eating what you like will make you feel good. When your well-being rates higher, so does your health. So many people stress themselves out(which is not healthy) about choosing foods they are told are wrong. There really is no reliable evidence to support the claim that some foods are wrong to eat so don't feel guilty about eating whatever you like. If it's edible and you like it, eat it.

#3 Drink lots of milk.

The original Superman comics nailed it. Drinking lots of milk will make you super. Milk is my favourite drink. It drink it every day I can get it. It has protein. It will build strong muscles and bones. Drinking chocolate milk with boost your endorphins and flavonoids which are important I believe. I drink milk more than any other drink and I am thinner than most - not that thinner has been proven to be healthier. It hasn't been. I am only an occasional soda pop drinker. I go many months between drinks of soda pop and I don't miss it at all. Not surprisingly, I don't suffer from any chronic health problems.

#4 Take many daily doses of chocolate.

Doesn't matter if it is a couple chocolate bars or a few mugs of hot chocolate or comes in a fancy box or a batch chocolate chip cookies. A moderate amount of chocolate is a good thing. It makes you feel good. You get those endorphins and flavonoids. You can only go wrong by having several belly-fulls of chocolate a day. Try to disperse your chocolate supply throughout the day. Keep the good mood flowing. Don't have too much but make sure you are satisfied. If you get sick of the taste, then it is time to eat something else as well.

#5 Sugar makes your day fun.

Don't be deceived by people who don't necessarily know what they are talking about. Sugar is a good thing. Be sure and have something sweet after every meal. The aforementioned chocolate is a good idea but there is also cake, pie, toffee, cappuccino drinks, energy drinks, energy shots, any dessert made with whipped cream, a few cupcakes, a small bag of crunchy candy, chewy candies, peanut butter brittle, marshmallow confections, Kool-Aid, ice cream, gummy bears, frozen dessert bars and Nutella spread on anything. It's all delicious and it will feel really good to eat it all. Again, don't let the advice of others make you feel guilty. Guilt is the real enemy, not sugar. Make sure what you are eating actually tastes good and aren't just tasteless straight sugar products. The taste is what will bring you more satisfaction. Licking up granulated sugar won't satisfy you so don't do that. Likewise, candy jewellery, Nerts, pop-rocks, and sugar tablets(Rockets) have very little flavour so I avoid them.

#6 Eat your favourite foods every week without fail.

Food is more than just something to munch on to pass the time. Don't eat foods just to fill your belly. Eat for enjoyment when you get hungry. What do you really want to eat? Think about that. Do you really want to fill up on chips or crackers before dinner? Is there something else that you would rather supplement with? Try getting some of that whenever you can instead of just eating what's there and ready to be devoured. Think about what you would rather be eating because it tastes better.

#7 Health and fitness are two different things.

Remember that what your body looks like has no bearing on your health. Being fat doesn't mean you'll have a heart attack. A large body just means your heart has to pump a little harder to keep you alive. You would not be less healthy than me necessarily. Guys who are trim waisted and have loads of muscle mass have about the same likelihood of going into cardiac arrest as those who are moderately obese. Sometimes eating for your health can make you more fit and vice versa, eating for fitness can lead to improvements in health. I recommend enjoying the food you eat and not letting anyone else's notions of health and fitness dictate what you eat. Nobody can tell from looking at you how your organs are functioning.
