Ha, ha, this the second time I've erased what I wanted to say before even posting. I just can't get it perfect, so I'm going to make it a lot shorter than what it was originally going to be. I can't believe how much stuff I've learned over the past two years. Really complicated stuff about religion, sexuality, politics, and frustrating problems like racism and whatnot. I can't believe how little I knew just two years ago. I looked at my older posts, and they are evidence that ignorance truly is bliss. A couple of years ago, a stain on my clothes is what I would consider a big problem. Now? It's so much more than that. I get angrier a lot. Way angrier. Tolerance versus intolerance, liberalism versus conservatism, debates about LGBT-related matters, questions asking how far freedom of speech should go, biased news reporting that drives me crazy, "checkmate, atheists", "God hates fags", stupid trends, discrimination, attempts at stopping discrimination, more discrimination, how much I hate it when people judge a religion by its extremists, discrimination again, politics, more politics, it's hopeless, no, it's not, what even is this, get a grip on yourself, YOU ARE THIRTEEN YEARS OLD. I know too much. Why couldn't I have developed curiosity in other things? I can no longer make it through a single day without thinking about stuff like this. I call myself an egalitarian, and even now I regret knowing things. It's too tiring. I miss being a kid and not knowing about discrimination as bad as what takes place world wide. I didn't know anything about people like those who are LGBT, for example, and now I find myself endlessly defending them in an exhausting battle that generates more stupidity than I can even imagine. I wish I could un-know stuff. Back in the days when I considered politics "boring" and didn't understand it. It's a lot less trouble. I didn't know there were people who were persecuted like that. I didn't know that many different groups of people with opposing opinions dealt with each other so childishly. I didn't know half of the world hated people like me. I'd rather not know any of that. I wish I could find something else to talk about, but it's all that's on my mind. "Oh, good, you're thinking," many say. I don't want to think any more. I'm wearing myself out. Why do I care about such topics at this age? I want other things to think about. But it always comes back ;w;. And no, I'm not trying to be vague so you guys ask what's going on. There is nothing to ask. I wish things were SIMPLE again. The title is "A Word Left" because I was just studying some Arabic with my mom today, and I forgot a word, so I just said "it left", and we laughed for a long time. I need to laugh more. I miss it when stains on my clothes were all I complained about. I can't believe how much stuff I've learned over the past two years. I know where you're coming from. .-. Usually things are happy-go-lucky, then you start reading about all those problems, engaging in long frustrating debates that do noting for either cause. It's awful to say, but for the sake of sanity, there are things you need to let go of. You can't just forget about lots of those things, I sometimes return to them, and get almost infuriated at some of the happenings coming around. Sometimes fighting for others is okay, but you should really put your own happiness as a priority. Put those other things on the backburner, so to speak. I know of a lot of people who spent years, and still continue lots of debates over almost all the topics you've specifically said. They seem just miserable. I don't want myself, or you, to be subjected to that kind of personality that grows from that. When I was in middle school I learned a lot too. It was like the world opened up to me. However since I was different due to a disability I experienced discrimination first hand. But it wasn't till Middle school that I learned more of the other groups. My Elementary school was a small school so just about everybody knew everybody. Middle school was different. I remember having debates on the issues you mentioned. What I learned was the world will say one thing. How I dealt with this was integrate my Christian faith into it. When I came across a question. I would and I still look read my Bible for the answers that I seek. I would think what would Jesus think or do. Concerning my views I try to integrate my faith. tgags123 : Your post is absolutely ridiculous. Just because you don't believe in other's points of views doesn't mean you need to invalidate them. Don't summon someone else to explain for you, and don't bait people because it just makes you look like an a**h***.
I don't bring myself into these conversations usually but I really just had to reply to this. I don't bring myself into these conversations usually but I really just had to reply to this. |

Congratulations on discovering how bad this world is.
Our economy is crippled, people in Africa and Asia are starving, Racism, sexism and homophobia are rampant, A significant number of people suffer from depression, Politicians and corporate bigshots are corrupt, Misandrist ruin the respectable name of Feminists, Religious Zealots that use their religion to invalidate people, Atheists that hate religious people on no ground but ignorance. Basically, welcome to Earth; People are A**wipes. - iN008, Depressive A**wipe. tgags123 : No harm done as long as you didn't mean it I guess. I'm not one to stay angry, I've had my share of references that didn't go across well.
To stay on-topic with the thread, I know what you mean. I feel like I know things I shouldn't really care about, and I don't really care about them, but you're right - in many cases, ignorance truly is bliss. Tumblr radicals can make me pretty upset sometimes. To stay on-topic with the thread, I know what you mean. NintendoFanKimmy : When I was your age, I was the same way. I still really like talking about those topics too. Just not on a website the moment you say something against the majority, you'll get dislikes and ganged up on. (see the debate forum, I think Leggy summed it all up pretty well.) Your time is to precious to waste on thinking about that stuff, especially when you and I are so powerless to do anything about it. Plus, as time goes on, we may find out we were wrong about a lot of things. Keep thinking. You show a higher level of intelligence that I appreciate. Both in threads and conversation. Plus your open minded enough to where speaking to you about these important things does not feel like a waste of time. (Unlike others. The end of me debating on this site.) Man, I have grown a distaste for this wonderful hate system that rules with button pressing fist. Something about me likes sticking in other's face that even though they can abuse me, I won't shut up. But ah well. Don't worry about all those problems. I look at a world where almost everyone is going to Hell, I go to work everyday to hear one guy talk about porn, (which is illegal in the workplace) and his GFs. There's plenty of stuff that outright sucks in life. The only good parts are the time you get to spend with your family and those who care about you. Sharing your interest and life with them. I may sound really evil, but I've cared so much about problems in this world to the point of which I don't care at all anymore. It's just there, it's just a fact. People don't want to change enough to fix them, and as you might guess, I believe that people have to change the way I see, or think that they have to change. (Doesn't everybody?) Then one must accept that people make their own choices. Even sheep do. (They choose to be sheep!) So we'll have to leave everyone else to their own amends and see what comes of it. As for me, I've moved on from all the pointless arguing. I'd rather lend a hand to a troubled soul, or an ear eager to listen. Just don't get obsessed with evils you cannot change. Sit back and enjoy life more. I've found more fulfillment in RPing, writing and many other things than arguing with people about it. Just know the difference between people you can actually talk to about those things. and people you can't. And enjoy life, you only got one. ![]() NintendoFanKimmy : When I was your age, I was the same way. I still really like talking about those topics too. I've changed my opinions A LOT over the past few years on almost everything.
I see that as a good thing, and I think we should all re-evaluate our opinions often. About your anger... eventually you'll probably pick a fight, one that you value over all others, to defend. That will reduce your anger at all the other issues. Some people stay angry at everything their whole lives, and others gain complete apathy, so I'm not saying it will happen, but that it's what happens to most. In my own experience, I was angry for 2-2.5 years, but eventually I picked a few fights to focus on and stopped caring as much about the rest. That's how a lot of people end up determining their own life's purpose. And who knows... it might all be worth the trouble. ![]() I see that as a good thing, and I think we should all re-evaluate our opinions often. In my own experience, I was angry for 2-2.5 years, but eventually I picked a few fights to focus on and stopped caring as much about the rest. That's how a lot of people end up determining their own life's purpose. And who knows... it might all be worth the trouble. ![]() |

This is one of the most amazing threads I've ever seen, and I feel like I can't even get to I've gone through this same change, and it makes it difficult to enjoy life. I'm not like you thinking about all this every day, but I'm getting there. It's becoming more and more common for me to hear people talking about this stuff or, even worse, making jokes about it on an almost daily basis. You're becoming like many others I'm surrounded with, absorbed into learning about this which leads to anger, disappointment, and sadness. I mean, even my instructors for my leadership class always say, "You should watch the news every day." One thing I've learned from looking at it, just looking at it, not even watching it, is that it's like 97% bad news and 3% good news. I already don't feel as much hope as I really should, even as a Christian (not a really great one, which is obvious if you look at the other Christians on vizzed), with ongoing and worsening family issues. Learning about the negativity of this world makes me amazed at how little of the time people act really crazy about it. After my instructors say "You should watch the news every day," they give us the scoop on what's happening. If it wasn't rude, I'd cover my ears, because almost every thing they say is very negative and most of it's scary too. It feels like the only places where I can escape the negativity are church (most of the time, because they talk about it too in their messages sometimes) and vizzed (again, most of the time, because I regretfully visited the debate forum) There's no place where I can truly escape it completely. I've always seen you as a very positive and cheerful person, so seeing this post really worried me! Now that I got that out of the way, let's finally get to the positive part of this post! ![]() I have yet to try this, but you really should try to make a list of all the positive things of this world (such as advancements in communication, more organizations to help the poor, more and more job opportunities every day, advancements in transportation, advancements in school). Also positive things in your life (such as more friends, incredible grades, an amazing cousin, a loving family, being able to connect with tons of people on vizzed). You should start as soon as possible because it was hard for me to think of all those positives, and if you learn about any more negativity in the world it'll be even harder for you to think about them than it was for me. ![]() Please summon me to your threads from now on like I do for you ![]() I've gone through this same change, and it makes it difficult to enjoy life.
