Ah yes, the old battle of Star Wars vs. Star Trek.

In this poll I'd like to know which franchise you like best. And before voting, I really hope you actually have some knowledge on Star Trek or Star Wars and not just pick one because you only saw one of the choices.

Let me bring up some negative points on each one.
Star Wars: Cons
- The whole prequel trilogy
- Jar-Jar
- The holiday special
- The romance cliche scene in Attack of the Clones
- The Clone Wars film
- Ewok Movies

Star Trek: Cons
- Star Trek V: Final Frontier
- The Motion Picture
- Nemesis
- Star Trek: Enterprise
- Boring dialogue in TNG
- Wesley Crusher

And now decide which one you prefer more.

I prefer star trek.... you just can't make up for Episodes 1-3 being as bad as they are.

Sure, some of the star trek movies aren't the best.... they aren't as poorly acted as the 3 new star wars movies

STAR WARS!... granted star trek is a wonderful series if you like to settle for mediocrity! BURN! =P... agreed that episodes 1-3 weren't the best of films but they set everything up for the main story and they're also finally coming out with 7,8, and 9!... Enter stage left: Rogue Jedi... That's all that need be said...

Mediocrity? All I have to do is look at Anakin's mannequin acting or the fail of Jar Jar and I can go far enough to call Enterprise better than that ass.

I completely agree with xfighter.... the acting in the new trilogy was awful. That scene right before Anakin and Obi Wan fight is so badly done it hurts to watch... but I watch through it so I can see the fighting.

I would think 4-6 would have set up events for anything that would happen after them
Seriously, 1-3 were complete garbage that ruined a great series.

Ignoring everything crap about Star Wars there's just three movies.
That's it. Oh, and 100s of games based on those three movies

Anyway to address the thread itself, I like Star Trek better.
Better stories and more of them, more Sci-Fi stuff, better thought out species / races.
Oh and I liked Enterprise (though S4 felt too rushed).

Well let's compare the two franchises: Star Trek is a massive TV show that once was very unique but today is repetition of the same theme over and over and over again. Star Wars is a three-part series with a terrible three-part prequel series and a series of terrible sellouts, including a holiday special.

Star Wars deals with a lot of emotional and spiritual aspects of everyday life with a cool sci-fi blanket of symbolism, and some excellently-done villains that can represent any number of character flaws depending on who you are and how you're looking at it. Star Trek is about trying not to tick off aliens.

Star Trek knows that smart people use lasers; Star Wars expects them to use swords.

So with these facts in mind, I select Doctor Who.

I say Star Trek cause it was the first series and it had alot of fundemental ideals and influences around in culture and still does today including the newish Star Trek movie =]. Star Wars was ok but it kinda sucked after the new prequels were made.My vote goes to Star Trek.

I'll give you that the whole "Force" spiritualism or whatever you want to call it is kind of cool.... but Jedi's and light saber fights are about the only really good thing that star wars has.

Actually the thing I like the most about Star Trek is that it has changed with the times better than Star Wars has. The 3 newer Star Wars movies just felt awkward but the newest Star Trek was awesome (and the "Next Generation" movies were pretty good too).

Star Wars FTW!!! I'll admit that the prequel trilogy isn't really great, and the Clone Wars... *shudders at the thought*. However, if you look at the original trilogy, it's a classic series. Thrown in a few great games (amid all the mediocre ones) like KotoR and Republic Commando, and the COOL villians like Darth Vader (When I first saw Episode IV, I was scared of him...) and Darth Maul, and you've got yourself a masterpiece.

I will give credit where it is due... the Star Wars games are better and more plentiful than the Star Trek games.

Although I think that with the way games are now that a Star Trek MMORPG could do well. Somehow.

Well I'm a very highly spiritual person, so my priorities aren't in the action segments. In fact, if you ask me, that's just more reason to like Star Wars, because Star Trek's idea of an action segment is "Let's negotiate" *alien fires first* "Shoot to kill!"

Star Trek all the way. While I do love Star Wars (the Trilogy, not the prequels... though they are fun to make fun of), I am a Trekkie at heart. I actually own a uniform from the Voyager series (it was a gift/halloween costume).

have you watched any of the Star Trek movies? especially the "Next Generation" or the remake? The movies step it up from the TV series. A lot.

I'll give you that the whole "Force" spiritualism or whatever you want to call it is kind of cool.... but Jedi's and light saber fights are about the only really good thing that star wars has.

Well I'm a very highly spiritual person, so my priorities aren't in the action segments. In fact, if you ask me, that's just more reason to like Star Wars, because Star Trek's idea of an action segment is "Let's negotiate" *alien fires first* "Shoot to kill!"

have you watched any of the Star Trek movies? especially the "Next Generation" or the remake? The movies step it up from the TV series. A lot.

I saw Nemesis. That was pretty good. I'll definitely want to see some of the other movies sometime, but I am NOT watching Star Trek!

lol, the newest film. I wish they could have given the film a more unique title, but hey it's their mistake so I don't have to worry about people not understanding me >
