Overall: 10!
Of course this was review was going to happen, I'm a HUGE Zelda fan!! I've played almost all the games and my favorite has to be Majora's Mask. But I HAD to give this game a 10 because this was the one that sparked my love for the franchise. I remember playing this game as a young lad and enjoying every minute of it! I mean, playing it now at the age of 23, it still puts the same smile on my face when I hear the opening theme. Everything altogether is a 10, individually I don't rank them so high because it's when it's all together that it's truly something special. This game is considered a Masterpiece by almost all gamers, even if they don't even like it. I mean, we all have to seriously consider how amazing this game is. And the 3DS remake is just as good as the original and it even includes the Master Quest after you beat it for the first time! I never had the Master Quest version when I was a kid, so you could imagine my excitement when I heard about it being in the remake. But that's enough about that, let us continue, shall we?

Playing it when I was younger, I never really cared for anything besides the fact that I was a Hero and could travel through certain points in time and I had a bad ass sword!! What isn't there to love? But playing it nowadays, it definitely gives away it's age, but only ever in the best way possible. Some things in this will creep me out because the graphics, and some things are down right hilarious. I won't be too harsh on them because back then, you had to work with very little compared to what we have now and I think it was mostly very creative. And who doesn't remember that damned creepy creature in the spirit temple? Oh yeah! The Dead Hand! f*** that thing, it still gives me nightmares sometimes.
Sound: 10!
Are you kidding? Greatest soundtrack of all time!! Ask anyone, they've heard SOMETHING from this game. It's too iconic to ignore. In my opinion, the overall sound of this game just suits it ever so perfectly! Everything from the background noise in Link's house to the final blow on Ganon, it's just so perfect to me! I could go on for days, but people would lose interest in reading this if it's too long, right? Or at least my fellow nerds who don't like to really read these reviews. Right! On with the review!
Addictiveness: 8
Not too surprising, considering how easy it was to get frustrated by this game! And let's be honest, there is a hell of a lot of waiting to be done in this game. I can play this for hours on end if I'm having a good day, or I can put it down after a little while because of a dungeon. I'm not trying to speak ill of Ocarina of Time. Truth be told, there are more fun times than bad. Although, who else remembers just wasting precious hours by going fishing all the time? I'm almost positive that Zelda got quite impatient with me sometimes. That's another reason it's ranked pretty high! All the bonus stuff you get to do! If you're like me, you absolutely HAVE to 100% every video game you play, and there is a LOT to be collecting during your quest. See, not all bad.
Story: 9
Start to finish, you feel like you ARE the Hero of Time! Or at least I did. I know that it's an incredibly linear game and you're always being told where to go, but you were being told about everything during your quest. I mean, come on, there's an entire time line that puts all the games together! That's awesome!
Depth: 8
Doesn't have a lot of depth to it. As awesome as the story was, taking a real look at how deep it feels, it really isn't the deepest Legend of Zelda game. I did acknowledge the story and how it is deep, but it's not too deep. There were things that made me laugh and it broke the feel they were trying to maintain. Not to say that it didn't capture other moods perfectly, I'm just saying that it wasn't the best is all. But, it is in a time line. That's deep, right?
Difficulty: 6
Controls are simple, the camera works nicely most of the time. There were points where it had bad camera angles, but not so many that it was hard. This game overall wasn't too hard. "What's so hard about swish, swish, stab?" Also, the dungeons mainly consisted of a core item then defeating the boss with said item. The only "difficult" part of this game is the waiting. Point A, "swish, swish, stab," go through dungeon, get item, kill boss, slay Ganon, save Zelda. I'm only being honest and I do assure you that I am a Legend of Zelda fan, even when they are putting the same formula in most of their games. This is it, you made it all the way through. Sorry if it doesn't seem too organized, I prefer writing things on the spot. Anyways, I really hope you enjoyed reading this review as much as I enjoyed writing it all out.
Until next time, Sir Bowen Overall: 10!
