megamanmaniac :

I actually did your challenge the other day. There's someone from my non-internet past who I never got along with, but we had a chat. Ended up unearthing some issue they had and helped work them through it. It's personal, so in respect of them, I won't be able to elaborate further, even if the chance anyone here knows them is literally 0. So congrats, you have the first fully completed challenge of the Leggy Challenge Blog (even if it wasn't the first I've started work on).

-----

sonicmcmuffin :

Before I take on this challenge, I need to know a few things.

First and foremost, why? What does it do to improve me as a person? I don't have big issues with public speaking, I don't need to learn skills like how to make a podcast (I've helped on several, over the years, for friends on one-off projects), and it doesn't really seem to have much of a point, outside of killing time.

It doesn't help that in a sense, this would actually hurt my personal development, since I'm actively breaking "away" from the site, something I view as a cancer in my life.

I can't accept or deny this request without some kind of explanation as to how this will improve me as a person (all the others to this point are either improving me in some fashion, or teaching me a skill I have yet to learn).

You lied it is possible to play Through the Fire and Flames on trumpet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODqZo26JrBc

Anyways. I challenge Leggy to dress up as a zebra or somewhat close to a zebra. Even a shirt with a zebra on it would do. Then take a picture and show us. Remember to go all out with it!

legacyme3 : Well it'd be a great way to pass on helpful tips and just general advice to the younger less experienced people on the site. But if you really want to break away from the site so badly i really don't see the point...

So here's a challenge that might be effective.... Don't post on the site for a week... Now would be a good time to do it really as your not doing any sort of camp/survivor/mafia thread... and you seem to have given up on NDND

Yeah, I don't see the value in giving advice to younger, less experienced members in that fashion. My door is open, and I help people when asked, but I can't give general advice, when I know it won't really apply to everyone. There's little point in that idea.

The second proposal is more conducive to what I want to accomplish. I haven't given up on NDND, but I've been busy with a lot in real life (I haven't been online much this month, as I've been focused on other things), and it's not so much tabled, as it is put on my "To Do" list.

I'll update NDND eventually. I like the game, and I haven't gotten bored. I just need the time, and right now, I don't have enough of it.

Consider that request done, I'll even start it after I finish this post. No more for a week.

awesomeguy279 :

I'll do that eventually, but I don't really have the clothing to make that work, and I don't have money. So I can't go out and buy it. Consider this on the waiting list for the future.

sonicmcmuffin :

Your challenge has been completed. I went exactly one week without posting.

Galacta :

I did that once, a couple years ago, after like 3 hours of trial and error. I'm never touching Akinator ever again. The interface is too clunky, and instead of asking 20 questions (how the game is played) he always seems to take 25. So challenge refused.

It's been a while since I updated this, but now that the weather has warmed up, I have a few challenges to add to the success pile!

juuldude :

I ran a mile backwards, as part of my training that I did for another challenge (one that's not on site, and is still in progress). It was pretty good exercise. It took me a while, because I had to be careful not to bump into anyone. I did it on the track at the local high school (running 4 400s backwards got a few odd looks, so thanks for that...)

So I pronounce your challenge completed, and successful.

lilythetigerkity :

I completed your challenge as well, though I sort of cheated on this one. While doing another challenge (the one in the next summon), I met people on the roads, and most of these were runners. I met someone new each day except one that week. For the remaining 8 days/8 people (because you said 2 weeks), I met the majority of them online through blogs I frequent. (which is why I say I cheated it)

I met 6 real-life people and 8 internet people, so it's even enough I'm calling it a success.

EideticMemory :

I completed yours as well, and it was the hardest of the three to complete, since I'm not a morning person. To accomplish this goal, I actually ran before going to bed, as opposed to doing after I wake up. If I had to wake up in the morning, the challenge would have been literally impossible for me.

Because of the nature of yours, I can be specific about my workouts as well, and kept a record of them. I started your challenge on Saturday the 11th.

April 11 - Ran a light 2 miles (cold), returned home, did dynamic stretches, and core exercises.
April 12 - Jogged a mile, then did interval training, 1 minute on, 1 minute off, for 8 repetitions. Then I went home.
April 13 - Walked down road, then ran up it (I live on a dirt road that stretches for a quarter mile, and is steep) four times, then returned home.
April 14 - Ran 4 miles, and then repeated the second half of the activities done on April 11th.
April 15 - I had a track workout later in the day with my club, so this was the lightest day. I ran a mile, returned home.
April 16 - Repeated workout from April 11th (sore from two a day the previous day)
April 17 - Today, the final day, I ran a 5k in about 23 minutes, which isn't bad for me, considering how little I ran over the winter, and how this was my first real work in months.

So, your challenge is also completed.

All three will be added to the completion log.

It's been a LONG time since I've updated this, since it's not something I really paid much attention to.

I'll give updates on "challenges in progress":

Batman: Arkham Asylum 100x Free-Flow Combo (darthyoda)
darthyoda :

I'm sure I'll do this one day, since I have plans to eventually return to the Arkham series, but it's indefinite at the time being because my backlog is immense.

Publish a short book on Amazon (zanderlex)
zanderlex :

I'll be working on this more, possibly, once I move to Boston. At the time I accepted the challenge, I wasn't even in college, and had very minimal writing skills, compared to what I have now. Before, my writing was probably a bit above average. Now, I write for a blog, semi-professionally (I get paid to do so). I could totally write a book, and is one of the challenges on this list I am certain I will eventually complete.

Publish a children's book with a good moral to Vizzed (Popeye116)
Popeye116 :

I could probably accomplish this challenge later in the week if I feel motivated. I feel like my posting work should qualify though, considering the morals in my posts

Read a scriptural (Bible, etc) text (supernerd117)
supernerd117 :

This one was actually completed (and is why I updated this post, mostly). Some people are aware of this, but I kind of found God over the winter, due to some miracle, and I have been reading the Bible here and there out of curiosity. My verdict is that the Bible is honestly kind of silly, but has no bearing whatsoever on my religious beliefs. I believe in God, and that's enough. Doesn't matter what a book written thousands of years ago says. Added to the completed list.

Eat a healthy Lunch + Dinner using only 5 dollars (Juliet)
Juliet :

I've completed this one as well. Multiple times over, in fact. Once I got a job at Big Five, I needed to eat lunch each day on a budget, and needed to buy good food to make work doable. It's pretty hard to do it on just five dollars (especially in California), but at Trader Joes, you can get pretzel bread, an apple, and sandwich materials (which you can use for dinner!) for around that much money, if I recall correctly.

My advice to anyone wanting to do this challenge: pasta! It's cheap, filling, and can be nutritious if prepared properly.

Dress up like a Zebra (awesomeguy279)
Patrick Star :

This one will be done maybe for Halloween this year. I was Akatsuki Harambe the year before last, and this past year I was a cranky old dude, so this year, I need something fun to bring balance to the force. Zebra sounds doable.

That's the update. 2 challenges done, four still in progress. None failed.

legacyme3 : Are you moving back for a bit or are you permanently moving?

Boston is awesome, I was there 2 weeks ago and it's so nice.

I've seen a lot of your blog stuff, I'm sure you could do even better now on a book.
