Both of pokemon and digimon at somewhat the same time so i was a pokefan and digifan at the same time...

But when i got older i started playing pokemon and enjoyed it




But when i got bored of it i tried digimon and oh boy

I honestly got into the Pokémon Card Game and show more then I ever did for the Digimon series. I collected the cards for both, but Pokémon was always my number one go to. My sister, being 9 years older then me, most likely also influenced me to enjoy Pokémon more, because I was always watching cartoons with her on Saturday mornings. But I did own the original Pocket Monsters game, which is what the Pokémon series branched off of.

I watched them both plenty. I've played way more Pokemon games than I have Digimon games though. So, I suppose I'm more into Pokemon, although I thought the Digimon series was WAY better. I haven't been watching the new stuff though... Only like the first 4 seasons or so.

I always thought it was weird how in the Pokemon games you can stab, burn, bite, mutilate, crush, slam, fry, (and a million more violent verbs), etc... And the Pokemon will just faint. Where as in Digimon, they die. (Well, technically, they revert back into data and are reborn without their former memories... ) I also thought it was funny how they just throw 'Digi' in front of any word.

I also like how the Digimon could actually speak. They got a little crazy with all the Digievolutions though. Like Greymon, then War Greymon, then Metal Greymon, then Metal War Greymon, then Dark Greymon, Dark War Greymon, Metal Dark War Greymon, (Some of those are made up, but by simply changing or adding a word, they make a completely new Digimon. And that was just the Greymons. All the Digimons had a ridiculous amount of Digievolutions.) etc... 

In summation, I play more Pokemon games, but I loved the Digimon show much, much, more. Never played either of the card games. Unless you count the Pokemon Card game on Vizzed. So... Boom!

I haven't actually had anything to do with Digimon for many years, in fact I saw an episode of the show for the first time in about 10 years back in January but that was because I really wanted to get back into it because I loved the older ones.

As for Pokemon, I never really stopped, I was always either playing the game, watching the show, or doing something else, which is why I like Pokemon way more, in my opinion, there just isn't as much Digimon media.

I was always of the opinion that Digimon had the better TV show, and Pokemon had the better games (Both TCG and console-wise).
Digimon liked exploring darker themes than what I remember Pokemon doing in their anime.
However, I found the gameplay for Pokemon more solid than what Digimon had, and I got interested in Pokemon games more often.
