Five Nights at Freddy's was developed by Scott Cawthon and was released onto Steam in August 18, 2014. It was the first game of its kind, and quickly became popular for many reasons. It became one of the most famous horror series of all time, and it still is going strong to this day, with the release of a 3rd game coming out sometime in the near future. So, with that said, let's head on into the review.

Graphics: 9
The graphics in this game truly define what kind of horror game Five Nights at Freddy's is. Whenever you are checking the cameras, it actually makes you feel like you are checking the cameras in real life. Which just adds more to the spook factor. This game was also released on mobile devices, like Apple products and Androids. However, I felt that the graphics on the phone version were a bit toned down in comparison to the PC version, but that's to be expected, right? The screen isn't as big as the PC version, and the hardware limitations make it hard for the game to be good graphically. However, on the PC version, I love the graphics.

Sound: 10
And now, the sound. Oh my, the ambiance in this game is amazing. If you are playing with headphones, be warned that this will creep you out. Especially when Freddy laughs. Oh, that just makes me shiver. It sounds so creepy, I don't even know how to put it into words. Sound is one of the key points in this game, but not as much as it is in the 2nd game. We'll get more on that in a future review. In my opinion, the sound in this game, is just perfect.

Addictiveness: 10
I keep finding myself coming back to this game over and over again. I don't know why, but it's like it just pulls you in, making you play more and more until you get jumpscared too many times, and you're tired of playing. I don't have much to say on this category, so let's just move right on.

Story: 10
Now, the story. In my opinion, the story is the main reason why the Five Nights at Freddy's series is popular. The story has so many secrets and stuff that we don't know, that there are so many theories that I can't even count them all. I'm not going to go too in-depth with this category either, because I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't played the game yet. 

Depth: 8
Now, with the title of Five Nights at Freddy's, you'd expect it to be a pretty short game. However, depending on your skill and knowledge of this game, you're going to have a long time with this game. There is even an additional Night 6, which is harder than Night 5 in the game. And Night 5 was already hard enough. And after Night 6, we have 20/20/20/20 mode. This mode is so hard, that only a few couple thousand people have beat it. It's that hard. Try it for yourself, and tell me how long you lasted. 

Difficulty: 10
Like I said in the above category, this game is REALLY hard. And you will be spending A LOT of time on this game. I won't be spending much time on this category either, because I already explained most of the factors of this category in the above category.

Overall: 9.6/10
Overall, this game is very fun and amazing, and I'm glad the creator, Scott Cawthon, took so much time on this game for us. And the later games as well. I hope you enjoyed the review. I would really appreciate it if you'd reply and give me your feedback, so I can become a better review writer.

LunarDarkness2 : Awesome review. How many nights you survived? How long you lasted 4/20 mode? I agree with you on the story, this game's storyline it's very complex. Many secrets are unsolved. One thing I recommend is next time, when you'll review the 2nd game, try to compare Fnaf 2 and 1, there we will see a difference. Do you know the reason why Scott created this scary game? Spoilers?

It was an entertaining review; I love listening to opinions, but there's always that extra "yay~" feeling when that opinion happens to be yours too, and I certainly felt it this time XD! I've only played the Demo version, and I've lost so many times while playing with my best friend and greenluigi and greenluigi's other cousin and ASDFGHJKL it's sooo hard!!!

I don't think I'm good at reacting quickly and efficiently, which is probably why I've only beaten the second (and final) night once (after looking up strategies, of course) xP. I also played the FNaF 2 Demo, and I never beat the second night because I keep the Freddy Mask on too long out of fear and end up getting caught by Foxy :L.

Chances are I would SUCK at the full version XD!

Anyway, great review, Lunar, and like Green, I especially agree with you that the unsolved story's mysteriousness plays a key role in the series's popularity! Scott has revealed just enough to get us interested and hidden just enough to get us talking .

Hmm... Normally I'll go easy on 600 words reviews, but since this is for Five night's of freddy''s..
In my opinion, I think this should have been 1000 words at least, I mean, it's a psychological horror game. You should explain way more, I liked this review, but it could have been a lot better.

LunarDarkness2 : i agree with imamonster. You could introduce us to the game and talk about what sort of role your character plays, at least, if not about the psychological/jump scares or such nature of the gameplay itself. I haven't played this, but from what I've seen, this looks like a much different idea of survival horror than say, Silent Hill or Fatal Frame.

This is a great review, I featured it a while back because the length is food and the formatting is perfect for me. I never played the game, I had opportunities to play it bit I think I might actually get too scared if I do.
