When I was younger, I thought that pokemon were real. I always go out and stray a pretty far away from my house searching for pokemon. My mother wasn't really happy when she found out about that. Odd thing is that I didn't learn about the pokemon's being fake until I was like 8 years old... what a sad world I lives in, :/ Lol.

When I was a kid, I used to believe that cartoons on television were actually real and that they lived somewhere far away. I thought they could hear me and see me, even though I knew they wouldn't answer me. I was a weird child... I believed in Santa until I was 11. Everyone told me that he knew my parents very well, so I thought that my dad worked with Santa. My dad told me he was at his store all the time, even though I never seen him when I went. I knew it was too good to be true, but I loved the idea of someone bringing me more gifts I guess. Even though it was some weird strange man that I never met or seen... lol. Well, that creeped me out when I thought in depth about it. Another was that babies were delivered at the hospital by some USPS truck, and that's why mommies had to go to the hospital to get them out. It wasn't logical at all... I also thought that I was still alive even before I was born, and that I was inside my mom's stomach all the time, even as a teenager or child. I believed I was part of her or something. 

When I was a child, a very young one, I believed in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, etc etc etc.

Well, did you know that I also believed in the Birthday Bird? From Dr. Seuss? Yea... even though the Birthday Bird never came, I still believed in it. My parents were laughing. Not anymore >

I also believed that Sonic the Hedgehog was real. Yep, I daydreamed about Sonic taking me and running at the speed of sound. I still daydream today, but I don't believe in what I think about. Thank god, since I would probably even weirder than I already am. You don't want to know what I daydream about.

I didn't believe in much, that wasn't true, when I was a kid. At least that I can remember. Let's see...



I think I once believed that lightning and thunder were made when clouds bumped into each other. I didn't think about it too much, so I didn't really care when I found out it was just really big static electricity.



I also believed that the internet was a place that children get kidnapped. Thanks for the propoganda, Mom. I still Googled stuff, but anytime I wanted to play a game and it required internet access, I stopped there. Stupid, I know. When I finally got into computers, and found out the internet was a magical place of rainbows and unicorns (I'm not gay for saying that.), It was like a sigh of relief. NOW I CAN FINALLY DO THINGS.

As a child, I thought that cats actually had 9 lives. I also had no idea there were any games past the SNES Era, because that was all the games we had. lol I also thought that all animals could talk to each other, but just not to people. Although unlike the rest, to this day I still wonder sometimes.

Childhood beliefs, huh? Well, like many other children, I used to believe in the existence of Santa Claus. No kidding, I really thought he was real back then. I used to think of the Fairy mouse that picks up your tooth during the night, too. Also, I used to think the Easter Bunny was real. Was I that stupid back then?

I thought Babies were made in the calves of the mother, and would climb up the leg and into the belly when they were ready to be born.

Also, I wanted to give some input for this thread ever since I saw it. I find this thread absolutely fascinating. haha.

Although I'm sure I had many odd beliefs, only one comes to mind, and I'm sure it's not that odd.

When we lived in Alaska and saw the northern lights for the first time, they captivated my attention.  I didn't care what anybody said... I was convinced that people on the ground were waving big skylights into the night sky, and that those people were the reason the lights 'danced'.  I never understood why people would waste their time doing it, but I never really questioned it much, either. lol

As for my belief, someone lied to me, that's how it started.

I was always scared of a certain shade of green thanks to a game called Chex Quest. There were they flying balls with green ooze in them and three tentacles things or something, and they would always come out of nowhere. So I was honestly scared of a certain shade of green until I was like, 10, because I was always scared that these monsters would pop out of the green and attack me. 

Like many children, I thought that turning Super Saiyan and doing Kamehamehas were real things

As a kid, I believed in stuff like Santa, and the Toothfairy and all that stuff for a long time. But I had other beliefs.
First off, Hogwarts was real. I swear, I stayed up all night when I turned eleven, hoping that I'd get invited to become a wizard at Hogwarts. The disappointment when that didn't happen was real.
Second off, Dragons. Dragons were (and still are) the absolutely coolest animal ever for me as a kid. Fire breathing flying lizard? Heck yes! I used to think they were just in hiding and only came out at night. These days I actually still hold that smallest bit of belief that they do exist, just not on earth.

As a kid I thought that girls would like me

My family was pretty quick to shut down any incorrect things I thought, which honestly I don't mind much. Not many untrue things got past them to me. The only one I can really remember is thinking that my older brother, who is considerably less mature than me, cut in front of me in the line to be born. I literally thought me and all my brothers were in a line to be born, and my older brother was meant to be born after me, but he cut in front of me and became older, which explained why he didn't act his age.

I used to believe that crabapples were poisonous. Later on I learned that they were just extremely tart and surmised that my mom had told me they were poison so that I wouldn't eat them. We had a tree in our yard. I also had proof that the Easter Bunny was real. Later I realized that the "rabbit tracks" I had discovered while hunting eggs on Easter morning were likely dog prints left in the fresh mud. Kids.

Whenever I went to sleep I believed that my bed would start to float in the air. I thought that was the reason I kept falling off my bed at the time.

I also believed that Spinach was evil and that it would take over the world, due to a nightmare I had.

Being a kid was great.

Let's see, IB's childhood beliefs. Well, where do I even start...

I always think that one day when I was younger, toilets are going to take over the entire universe (I still have this though to today), and I was teleported from some other planet with mutated toilets and was left on Earth to explore on how Earth was until I was old enough to return to my home planet. Also, I was told that evil people would be demoted to rodents and good people would stay as humans. That is all I can list on the top of my head. I have a weird childhood.

To something that is a little less weird, I have also though every little thing I seen on TV (mostly cartoons) and video games were real.

I remember, when I was 10, I thought that The Equator didn't exist, and the bottom tip of South America was the hottest place on earth. 7 months later at 11, I would come to realize it was actually colder than Vermont.

I believed in alot of stuff

I never understood why they kept rebuilding Japan when Godzilla just kept coming back to destroy it again...
