Hey folks. Here I am with another off the top of my head question for y'all. Everyone has those things that just creep them out and those things that terrify them into being unable to act in any way. Could be just a jump back startled reaction to a spider being seen next to your leg or a total freakout, by that I mean unable to move because you are paralyzed by fear, kind of thing like being up really high in the air if that terrifies you. Anyways everyone in general has something they are afraid of.
My questions are this :
1. What are you afraid of ?
2. What level of fear for each thing you name ? ( scale of 1-10. With 1 being startled light reaction and 10 being Oh my god !! Paralyzed ).
3. Do you know of anyone that has a weird fear ? If so, tell us about it. ( By weird I mean like afraid of their own shadow, closing doors, etc.. )

One thing that I guess that I'm afraid of would be falling, and that's really about it, heights don't scare me much, but actually falling terrifies me.

Heights, oh my god, heights! Seriously I cannot go up to even the third floor of my college without feeling like getting all whoozy. The higher i get the worse I feel. If I were to ever, EVER go to the top of some mountain I would absolutely faint far before the half point of the journey.

I have to say the same as everyone else has said, I am in a way a little bit afraid of heights, but if there isn't any sort of safety protection from the edge, if so, my scale would be at around a "3", but without or little protection, it would be a solid "10".

There is already a thread like this. Anyways, to stay on topic, I have a huge phobia of hornets, bees, etc. People tell me that if I leave them alone, they won't bother me, but sometimes, that isn't the case, and they just plain freak me out.

I am afraid of being alone, exposing all my vulnerabilities to the chance of the world while there is no one around to help.  What would I do if suddenly I collapsed, unable to move, unable to scream, and yet there was nobody there to come to my aid, now that is terrifying to me.

Actually I don't have anything that scares me. If I do, I don't really notice. Maybe I need to get out more, and find something I am scared of,

I have three main fears:

1) Losing My Mind - I would rather die.

2) Tight Spaces - It's not a fear, exactly, but my mind starts to panic just thinking of it.

If I had to do something in a tight space, or move through one, I'd do it.
But if it took too long, it would quickly become mental torture.

I'd put prison as another fear, but it's basically this one. It's not as "trapped", but I'd feel the same mental torture.

@ LunarDarkness : Yeah I know there is a thread like this but I decided to take it a bit further and ask everyone to rate their fears on a scale of 1-10 and I also asked for weird fears you may know of that someone else has.

Now to answer my own post I basically have 3 fears :
1. Afraid of needles ( shots, etc...) and if I had to rate it I would put it at a 7. I am not petrified by it but I try my best to avoid looking at the needle because that just makes it build up.
2. Afraid of drowning and I would rate it like maybe a 5. It's always in the back of my head when I get in the water, even tho I know how to swim very well. Just the thought of suffocating and swallowing water totally freaks me out.
3. Bees, Wasp, and Hornets and that one I'd rate at like 8 because I am severely allergic to them. I've already had it happen to me once and I would rather not ever have to go through that again.
Weird fears people I know have : Weirdest one would have to be a friend of mine that I used to work with has a fear of being touched. It's called Haphephobia and how he manages to have an even halfway normal life I will never understand.

I'm afraid of heights. If I went skydiving with a parachute, I'd probably come very close to passing out. Even if I have to climb a tall hill, I'd probably get anxiety, lose my balance, and fall down the hill. XD I'm fine in a plane, though, since I know I'm not going anywhere unless there's a window open in the plane. I'd rate this fear a 7 on the scale.

I'm afraid of having an awkward posture. If I wasn't a Christian, I probably wouldn't be able to enjoy most of my classes because I'm constantly worrying about my posture. That's because I've been picked on a lot for it before, even after I changed it to be much less awkward. But I am a Christian, so I still have the fear, but less so, and I'm trying to get rid of it and care a lot less about it. I'd rate this fear a 4 on the scale.

I'm afraid of most bugs. If I see a centipede or a millipede in my basement, I feel like I absolutely can't bring myself to kill it because it's so fast, big, and scary. I have my parents do that for me They're scared of those bugs too, but less than me. Even if I see a spider, I have my parents kill it or I try to kill it myself, but I get pretty scared when I do. I'd rate this fear a 4 on the scale.

I'm afraid of getting sick from being on screens too much. I really enjoy my time on screens usually, and some of the time I forget about that fear, but most of the time I have that fear, so I'm somewhat careful. This is the only fear of mine in this post that I'm glad to have, but there are a few others too. I'd rate this fear a 4 on the scale.

I have a lot more fears but I won't share them all in this thread. Maybe I'll come back to this thread and share more later.

I don't know any people who have a weird fear, but my cat is afraid of
any shadows. If he sees one, he'll look away or he'll run.

1. Lizards, I rate 10 like if I see one I try not to scream, but I ended crying and paralyzed. T-T they just scare me
2.  Choking is around 6 since I choked once and thought I was gonna die.
3. Myself, Lizards is not a common fear...a least that's what my friends say

Redbattler: Fear of lizards is very common. It is extremely common among kids. As one grows older, the phobia subsides but there are many adults and teenagers as well who are just as scared of lizards as very small kids. The fear of lizards is known as Herpetophobia. It is the phobia or fear of reptiles.
There are three very popular techniques which are used, typically by psychologists, to deal with such phobias. The methods or approaches are EFT which is emotional freedom technique, LOA which is law of attraction and NLP which is neuro linguistic programming.
You can train yourself emotionally, try and distract your awareness away from the presence of the lizard and strengthen your neural responses so you don’t have to be afraid of the lizards. You can find a lot of information about EFT, NLP and LOA online. If you wish, you can consult a psychologist and get advised and supervised on every step.
I know when I was a lot younger I used to have a fear of spiders. I got over it by making myself be around them as much as I could till it got to where they did not bother me as much. Now they don't bother me much at all. I'd suggest looking up those ways on dealing with your phobia of lizards or wait and see if you grow out of it. You are young still and that could happen. Either way it's some information for you to check out on it. Hope this helps you out bud. Also talk to your parents about it once you decide what ya' wanna do. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to help you out once they know what needs to be done.
