Here is a review by The IB, This game is on Grand Theft Auto V. Grand Theft Auto V was released on September 17th, 2013 on the PlayStation 3 (and Xbox 360) and later released on the PS4, XBone, and PC. For the first time ever since GTA 2, you control more than 1 protagonist who happens to be Michael De Santa (A former Bank robber who has retired the game and wants to raise a family), Franklin Clinton (A former repo man who wants to make a living), and Trevor Philips (well, he is pretty self-explanatory, he’s crazy, that is all). This game has introduced a ton of new and interesting features that has returned from a past GTA game and is very new to the series. You follow these 2 character’s storyline as individual storylines where all 3 storyline merges into one giant storyline filled with heists, multi-person missions, and a bunch of other things for the player to like about this game. I feel like this is the best game that Rockstar has put out there in public since GTA San Andreas which could end up rival that other game Rockstar has made. Anyways, let’s move onto this review.

Graphics..

For the graphics of this game, it was a really huge upgrade than we have seen with GTA IV, after GTA IV seem like it was all bleached and dimmed out, I think after experiencing with the RAGE game engine for 5 1/2 years since GTA IV was released back in 2008, this gives Rockstar plenty of time to make up for all the faulty graphics that the last games has had, although it wasn’t too bad though. If you move onto 2013, This is truly a HD video game where all the graphics looks a whole lot more “life-like” and a lot of people, especially modern gamers, they much prefer modern games to be all in an unique HD format and GTA V offers a true HD format which gamers likes so much, I feel that Rockstar has added a whole lot more detailed graphics for the setting of Los Santos and Blaine County, like more realistic skies, weather, vegetation, buildings, vehicles, and a bunch of other things I haven’t mentioned, it looks a lot more better than any other game in the entire GTA series, as for the character designs, they are slightly updated from GTA IV, but not by a whole lot, this little minor thing could be fixed up, but they have in the PS4 / XBone / PC re-release, so that problem is fixed there. So all and all, I like the newly updated graphics of GTA V.

For the graphics, I will give this game a perfect 10 out of 10, the reason why is on how much Rockstar has put some effort into their graphic card in this game, it is like the best game I have experienced with on a 7th generation console, and that is saying a whole lot, kudos to Rockstar making the graphics very awesome, that’s why I gave this a “10”.

---------------

Sound/Music..

As for the sound effects, this also has had a huge improvement from the last GTA games, I think the more updated and clearer effects makes things sound, well, more like in real life. I especially like when you go to the country-side, you can hear a lot of nature when you’re outside exploring the wilderness (as long you don’t get attacked by a mountain cat though because that can suck), since this is the first time a GTA game has introduced animals (yes, PETA has caused a stir in this game because of killing animals mumbo jumbo), it has made the most accurate animal sounds like you would expect, and it’s not just those voices, I also feel that the voices sound almost the same quality like we expected in GTA IV, so I won’t say much with that though.

For the music, it doesn’t have as many radio stations as we have seen in GTA IV, but all those radio stations were all urban station, but this game also has a country-side so you expect have a country and classic rock station and that is what we have seen, like each and every station all has a different genre for the person to like such as Country, Classic Rock (both I mentioned), Modern Rock, Punk, Hip-Hop, Reggae, World, Indie, Electric, and Talk. So, this game has a wide selection of radio stations for the gamer to enjoy, which does make for a great game.

For the sound effects and the music, I will give this game a perfect 10 out of 10, the sounds has what you would expect in real life mostly, that’s all I have to say about the effects. As for the music, it has a wide selection with a bunch of different genres for the gamer to listen to because everyone has different interest into music, this game gets a “10” for it.

---------------

Addiction Level..

For the addiction Level, this game has a huge addiction level, especially with anticipation of this game’s release prior to September 17th, 2013, a lot of fans was expecting a really gigantic game, and after so many pre-orders on this game and people has been able to play this game on the released sate, a ton of gamers haven’t stopped playing this game at all, and it being nearly 1 1/2 years since this game has been released (plus the PS4 / XBone versions just released and the PC version coming later on this year) and a whole lot of gamers have been highly addictive to this game, not just in single player, but we got a ton of players experiencing with online multiplayer where it has a huge unique twist in the entire game where you can do pretty much anything you feel like because you don’t have to unlock hardly anything, and with this, it gives the person a great opportunity to do on what they want to do. Even if you aren’t playing online, there is still a ton of fun and interesting material that will cause the gamer to be addicted to this game, even some gamers that was more addicted to San Andreas more than IV, they all skipped IV and went straight into V because it being in “San Andreas” and it looks like those players will be stuck more into this game, but they are die-hard GTA San Andreas games that won’t leave that game for IV and V which is understandable, that game is highly addicting like I mentioned in a previous review I did on that game and that game happens to be my favorite in the series and this game here (GTA V) has become my 2nd most favorite game in the entire series and the game only being 1 1/2 years old, that tells you something.

For the Addiction Level, I have to give this game a perfect 10 out of 10, I see that on how much a player can do in this game either in single player or in multiplayer, these gamers will be playing this nonstop, and with the giant map to explore and the amount of content in the game, leaving this game seems impossible, this game gets a “10” for a reason.

---------------

The Storyline..

The storyline happens all the way back 9 years before the game take place in 2004, you start out in a mission (like in other GTA games, but this is the most intense out of all of them), you end up robbing a bank in a city called North Yankton and you have to fend off the cops in the city and try to escape, you have attempted to until you got wrecked by a train and they your getaway has cut short and you have to go on a shootout with the cops, but you escape in failure, and (according to what Trevor was told) Michael was the one that died and Brad survived but was sent to prison. Fast forward 9 years later in 2013, Michael has talk to his therapist about on how his life has been going on for the past 9 years with his family and how his life has been going as of late, but then after your session with his therapist, you walk outside and sit down and this is where the 2nd protagonist named Franklin walks by to repo some cars for a car dealership he works at, and you take those cars and race his friend names Lamer, and after that task, you do a few tasks with your boss named Simeon Yetarian, until Lamar formed a bit of jealousy against Franklin and stole a bike that supposed to be repoed and blamed it on Franklin thus getting Franklin into trouble. Then one task that has you repo Jimmy De Santa (Michael’s son) vehicle and Michael has hiding in the car without you knowing it and Michael has threating Franklin and the car company for credit fraud, so to get his (Michael) revenge, he orders Franklin to smash through the dealership, and in result, Franklin lost his job, but start working for Michael instead. Franklin works along with Michael all the way up to a heist in a jewelry store, and after you rob the jewelry store, you both law low for a little while, and this is where the 3rd protagonist named Trevor comes into the mix being, well, Trevor. After a few missions of Trevor being himself, he realize that Michael who supposed to be dead 9 years ago is still alive, and decided to reunite together once again and start doing heists once again, and having Franklin join in the mix as well. After missions and heists, Trevor still had in his mind that “if Michael is still alive, then who’s in the casket”, so after being on Trevor’s mind, he wanted to check and see and Michael gas tried stopping him from seeing for himself and Trevor went anyways and discover the real truth that it was Brad that died and not Michael after having furious rage, he ends up abandoning Michael in North Yankton (who was in trouble with the Triad gang) who later got kidnapped. After Trevor got back, he pretend that nothing happened in North Yankton, but Franklin said otherwise and question Lester about Michael’s disappearance until Franklin discovered that Michael has been kidnapped by the Triads and Trevor ignored the entire thing, so, after freeing Michael, they both discuss on what they are planning to do with the Trevor issue, that was until one mission where you had to break into a federal building and then Trevor has also re-reunite with Michael yet again, but after doing the final heist of the game, Franklin has a choice Steve Haines and Devin Weston, kill Michael, kill Trevor, or keep them alive and kill everyone that has backstabbed all 3 of them. Depending on what path, you take will have a dramatic affect in the entire game’s ending. This does make for a really good game with the storyline.

For the storyline, I will give this game a perfect 10 out of 10, With a main storyline revolving events that has happened 9 years prior to the main part of the game makes this game a really great game, and unlike past games, the game has 3 smaller stories all merged into one giant storyline, and I think this is the best storyline that Rockstar has come up with so far, that’s why this game has a “10”.

---------------

Depth..

Ok, for the Depth of this game, you combined the activities you do in San Andreas, IV, and newer things added in as well, you got a whole lot of interesting things to explore in, you got a bunch of clothing shops, you can eat some food, buy some cars, buy property, use the internet, and a bunch of other interesting things. With the new things other users can do is play some sports like Golf, tennis, and triathlons, and also can join in with activities such as yoga, parachute jumping (which is a return from San Andreas), hunting, and scuba diving. Also this game has the 2nd most guns ever in a GTA game (only behind GTA Vice City), and you can modify your weapons for the first time for the player to customize the way they want to increase performance of the weapon which can be helpful in some missions where you need this boost to complete the mission. As for the map, oh boy, where do I start with this, it even makes GTA San Andreas seem tiny and that was a big area like I mentioned in one of my past reviews. The GTA V has the biggest game map not just in the GTA game, but any game Rockstar has made up to this date and with the giant map size, it gives the player a chance to look at all the interesting things that makes up the entire state of San Andreas from the city to the countryside with small towns and small cities. So, I think in a way that the improvements with all the activities that gamers can enjoy with have gained the interest into this game.

For the Depth of this game, I wish I could give this an 11, but I can’t, so this game has to settle with a 10, I feel like this game when it comes to the depth, it seems like it’s GTA San Andreas on steroids, I feel like the players has a huge option on doing on what they feel like on doing, and explore a giant map, this is why the depth gets a “10”, so much to do.

---------------

Difficulty / Gameplay..

For the Difficulty, Rockstar has eased up on the difficulty than we had in GTA IV, but not dramatically so that was the mission can be enjoyable for the gamers, especially all the heist missions and for the first time in a GTA game, you also have mini-achievements called “Medals” where you perform a certain task within the mission and you end up getting that metal which depending on how much you do them will get you bronze, silver, or gold for the mission which is a first which give players a lot more effort on getting that 100% completion. Also for the first time in the entire series, you have checkpoints in each mission where if you die, you have the option to start the mission back from that last mission checkpoint or go with the traditional way (spending $5,000 and end up at the hospital) (and you know on what the gamers picked more, it is obvious). So, in a way, it is slightly easier and a tiny bit more difficult, it really depends on the gamer playing this game.

As for the gameplay, I feel this is a really great improvement from GTA IV, after Rockstar has got those complaints about GTA IV’s controls being all sucky, Rockstar has went ahead and fix those controls and gamers are a whole lot more happy that the performance of the game runs a whole lot more realistic in the game than ever before. Like the biggest gripe that other’s had was the vehicle’s performance in GTA IV, but after gamers seen those improvements, they are quite happy on those improvements.

For the Difficulty and the Gameplay, I will give this game an 9 out of 10, it is a lot harder than any of the 3D generation games, but it still isn’t as hard as Grand Theft Auto IV (although a few parts of GTA V still can be really tough and get a few failed missions). Also the gameplay has really seen a lot of unique upgrades with a lot more easier controls where you actually control the vehicle without crashing into everything like the last game. So all and all, I gave this part a “8” because it is difficult, but not as bad as GTA IV.

---------------

Overall..

Overall, this is one of the best game that Rockstar has ever pulled together (if not by some people, it’s the 2nd best game Rockstar has come up with), and I think with my point of view after playing through 5 different GTA games, this by far one of the 2 games I think is Rockstar’s best game they released and I think if the game has “San Andreas” in it, you know it will be an extremely popular game, and if you look at it, it has indeed become popular after it released for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Go figure with all the amazing graphics and sound effects, you can’t go wrong with that with a realistic Southern California looks like the city, the mountains. The Desert, the Wildlife, and the everything, and it’s not just the graphics and the sound that made this game unique, it’s also the 3 little storylines that all merged into one giant storyline, and having one giant storyline that is the best in the entire series does tell you a whole lot and with those storylines comes missions which to my mind isn’t hard than we have seen in GTA IV, but it does provide a challenge for the gamers and with improved gameplay, that makes things a whole lot better.

For my final thoughts on this game, I feel that this game has brought a whole lot of gamers to experience a HD feel with doing numerous activities that are new and old to the series and with the big map to explore in is what games players enjoy this game so much and they are quite a few explorers out there like me, and I feel with all you can explore, I can be for sure you will enjoy this game. If you haven’t played this game for either the PS3, PS4, 360, XBone, or soon to be PC, you need to play this game as soon as you can, it is fun in so many levels.

For my final score, I will give this game a 9.7 out of 10, I view that a “9” fits very well with this game and you know the IB, The IB never gives the final score a 10 because I don’t want to sound bias to the game, so that’s mostly I gave it a 9 instead. This game to my point of view is extremely popular to modern gamers out there, no matter if you’re a GTA veteran like me or just starting onto GTA for the first time, you sure have gave this game a try, if not, you should, it’s fun, interesting, and entertaining. This is what makes this game a true game, this is why it gets a “9”.

Anyways, that is all for this review.
