Pokemon Fire Red Backwards Edition. This is a very unique Pokemon hack, and as far as I know, the only one of it's kind. Like the title says, you go through Pokemon Fire Red backwards. There is more to this game then just playing through backwards though. Towns are slightly changed, along with a few moves, and trainers, and wild Pokemon. Dialogue is also changed to make it more funny. (Although it can be slightly offensive to some.)
Graphics: 10/10. It wouldn't be fair to rate the graphics for this hack. The creator obviously didn't intend to change them and they are the same as the original Pokemon Fire Red.
Sound: 10/10. The sound is the same as the original as the original Pokemon Fire Red. The creator obviously didn't intend to change them like with the graphics.
Addictiveness. 6/10. I thought it was really cool to play this game backwards, and I really enjoyed seeing all the changes. In-fact, that's the only reason this game is in anyway addictive. This game forces you to grind or struggle, which I didn't think like at all. This isn't a game I will replay, and if I do, it won't be for a long time.
Story. 2/10. The original Pokémon Fire Red never had a great story, and this hack tried to add it's own little story. The story is Team Rocket trying to capture the 3 legendary birds. It is really lazy and doesn't go into depth at all. There is also a post game story, which is really short and supposed to be unbeatable.
Depth. 10/10. The slight changes to every town kept me playing this game from start to finish. Of course playing the game backwards, it makes everything different. Dialogue to almost every trainer is changed and I enjoyed all of it. Primeape which is originally a fighting type, is changed to a ground type. The move teleport is changed to explosion. Little changes like these didn't make sense, but also made it much more interesting to me.
Difficulty. 10/10. My biggest problem with this game is how hard it is. Every single time before you enter a new area, you are forced to battle what I started to think of as "mini-bosses." Trainers that are high-leveled and normally you are forced to battle them to enter the new town. These trainers gave me a problem early on and I was usually wiped out by them until I decided to grind. The AI for all trainers is improved and when I had a type advantage they would usually switch out. The Gym-Leaders have improved move sets and the AI knows how to use these moves right. Everything felt high leveled and I trained my team for hours to make it easier for me.
Overall. 6.5/10. I enjoyed this whole game except for the grinding. The new dialogue was my favorite part and it's a big reason I kept playing. When I think back on this game, I don't think of how funny it was. Instead I think of how long I spent training my team. It did make me feel accomplished when I beat it though.
