http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2274/
at first i was thinking of pointing this out since it claimed to be a "cd quality" audio
replacement hack but the i got to reading and...
"This patch requires the MSU-1 audio ‘chip’ to function, and as such will only function properly with the higan and BSNES emulators, as well as the SD2SNES flash cart. "
so it only works on certain emulators and certain flash drives, splendid. i've never used either of those emulators and after downloading higan, its irritating to use from the start.
to play roms on this higan emulator you have to first import the rom into the emulators rom library (pointless process, here we go. >.>) instead of simply clicking file at the top of the window and browsing the file directory like almost all other emulators do.
THEN you have to do the typical patching of the rom (thankfully its a ISP patch so that takes all of a few seconds) and after thats all taken care of you go to download the .RAR with the audio files (yep, another download and this one is a doozy) which turns out to be a 306.5 MB download. i'm sure if those are mp3 files or it'd might be a bit smaller though i could be mistaken.
so once thats downloaded, you go and unzip those audio files to the folder containing the patch, rom, and other stuff (why bother going through this annoying process for a snes game?) you can finally start up the emulator and see if the hack will even work at all.
so yeah... i guess i'll leave the link here for if anyone wants to bother with it. if i download that soundtrack i'll probably just spare myself the annoying patching process and learning how yet another snes emulator works and just play the music in VLC or something.
