A beautiful poem written in her state of severe confusion, anger, and sadness upon discovering that the Côte d’Or Mignonette she had asked her sister to bring her earlier that day was, in fact, the last chocolate of the box, likely featuring several instances in which she, in her state of indecisiveness, switched back and forth between capitalizing the "d" in "Côte d'Or" to leaving it in its lowercase form, forgetting to put the chapeau~ above the "ô" in "Côte d'Or", and possibly several other spelling and grammatical mistakes resulting from her anguished and broken heart.
Enjoy!~ (This was literally copied from the paper I wrote it on when my sister bore the devastating news to my friend Pauline and I.)
An Ode to Côte d'Or
by NintendoFanKimmy
Cote D'Or, oh Cote d'Or,
Your name is in French,
So I don't really know what it means,
Except for the "d'Or" part,
Which I think means "Of gold" or something.
I only know this because, once,
I asked my mom what "Pain d'Or" means,
And she said "Bread of Gold",
So now I know that "Pain" means "Bread".
I still don't know what "Côte" means,
But I love you more than Pain d'Or
Even though pain is my favorite word in English.
Are you related to Pain d'Or, Côte d'Or?
Looks like I'll never know...
Because you're DEAD.
But... love outlasts death.
And I love you, bae.
~
I hope you enjoyed the dedication that resulted from my mourning over the loss of a dear friend, and "pain" actually isn't my favorite word in English. It's autocannibalism because it sounds cool. It's... efficient? Sufficient? Idk, they're both fun to say, and mean generally positive things, I guess... ish. Yeah.
Thanks for listening!
NintendoFanKimmy, *sniff*, out!~
