Disney is very well known for creating a lot of toon characters, like Mickey Mouse, Goofy etc., which are very famous especially for very young people (or has been very famous, I mean, nowadays, the youth is just playing with their IPhones etc... ). This game, entitled "Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers", which is for the Nintendo 64, the computer and other platforms, is about one of the most well known Disney characters, Donald Duck, like the title is saying. But before playing this game, one could ask what this game offers, and if this game is worth playing. We will get the answers for this questions during the review for sure.

First, we're going to take a look at the graphics. The backgrounds are way more detailed than the characters and enemies and also very "cartoon-ish" and not very realistic, which fits to the game, because it's all about toons after all. The characters are not very much detailed, nut just because they are toons, but also because the graphics in Nintendo 64 games aren't the best graphics at all, the things are always looking a bit like cubes. But in this game, it's not that awful with the cube-looking, so I will give 7 points out of 10, for the better look in comparison other games on the same platform.

And then, there is the sound. The most impressive sound is the voice acting for sure, which sounds very well, and well, I will never understand how the voice actor of Donald Duck can sound that much like... a duck. The music may fit to the areas, but the music isn't that memorable. And the sounds are fulfilling their purposes, sometimes the sounds are pretty funny, because it's all in a toon world after all, and the purpose of toons are to make people laugh after all, so everything is fine with the sound, I would give 7 points out of 10 therefore.

So, how addictive is this game? Well, while playing the game for the first time, one could definitely tell that the gameplay is very similar to Super Mario games, which are very addictive. But still, this game has a lot of differences than Super Mario game, like that you can attack your enemies with kicks and fists, or the different types of levels, like the typical Jump 'n Run, diverse boss battles or running away from something levels. Therefore, there is the disadvantage that the game is pretty short, 4 big areas, 4 bosses, each has 4 levels and 1 running away level. I will give 7 points out of 10 for the addictiveness because the diversity can make fun, but this fun won't last for long because of the short length of the game.

Then there is the story, the weakest aspect of this game. The story is almost the exact same story like the stories in Super Mario games: some evil guy captures the girlfriend of the protagonist, in this case, some magician called Merlock captures Donald's girlfried, Daisy Duck, and then, the protagonist decides to rescue her. Sorry, I can only give 3 points out of 10, because the story isn't anything new and is just a recycled version of the usual Super Mario story.

How much does this game offer? Except the usual Jump 'n Run levels, you are able to play in certain levels in different perspectives, not always the usual side scrolling 2D perspective. And like I said before, there are diverse boss battles and these running away levels, making it more diverse. And the way to get to these levels is also something worth mentioning: for example, you have to get puzzle pieces during the levels to get to the boss. So I will give 7 points out of 10 for the diversity.

There isn't a lot to say about the difficulty, the game is a pretty easy game, the controls are pretty easy, the levels are pretty easy, too, so you won't have any problems with the difficulty of this game.

The scores:

Graphics: 7/10
Sound: 7/10
Addictiveness: 7/10
Story: 3/10
Depth: 7/10
Overall: 31/50

6.2/10

So is this game worth playing it? Well I think this is a game which you can play if you are bored, but it's not a game which you should play all the time, because the game isn't the longest. A good aspect of this game is for example that it offers a lot of diversity in comparison with other Jump 'n Run Games, which can make fun. But therefore, it also resembles other Jump 'n Run Games too much. So it's up to you: is this game just a complete Rip-off of certain Jump 'n Run classics such as Super Mario? Or is this game something very unique? You decide.

Otherwise, thank you very much for reading my review, hope you enjoyed and hope you will also read my upcoming journals If there is anything that I could do better, then tell me, ok? Greetings from Germany,
