Here is a review by the great IB, and this game is on one of my most favorite games in history, which is called Minecraft. Minecraft was created by the great Notch (a.k.a Markus Persson) on May 16th, 2009 and first versions of the game was available on the PC and they wasn’t really a whole lot other than grass, dirt, wood, stone, cobblestone, water, and lava. But over the course of 5 1/2 years, Minecraft has turned into a multimedia success by landing on 10 different platforms, and has changed gaming history when it was released in 2009, but the Minecraft craze didn’t begin until 2010 when it was in Alpha stage and then 2 1/2 years after the game was available to the public, the game was officially released on November 18th, 2011, and since then, the game has really taken off like a rocket with it being one of the most popular game in the modern era of gaming and has made multiple history in this game. With that said, I will go ahead to the review on this wonderful game
Graphics.. I know when it comes to the graphics of Minecraft, they are pretty outstanding to my point of view. Yeah, Minecraft might just be full of blocks are have like basic graphics for the games like the grass and the sky and the rocks / stones, but this is why we have resource packs, but we are talking about straight vanilla Minecraft (no mods, no resource packs, just the original content). I think the basic graphics are pretty great and well done when I first started playing this. Sure, they might be others out there that plays Minecraft and thinks that the graphics in the game seems to be a little boring, so that’s why they create resource packs so that way, they can change the layout to fit their taste, like having 1x1 pixel blocks all the way to 2048x2048 pixels (which is a lot because 32x32 is the default pixels used). A lot of people have different ideas for graphics, that why they exist. For me, I like the classic default pack to use because I am kind of a default person, although I have tried some of these resource packs and some of them are amazing. Back to the default pack, I think the graphics in this game is quite amazing, the Overworld, the Nether, and The End all are have a lot of interesting detail to my point of view and each setting are outstanding. For the graphics, I got to give it a 10 out of 10, I think the graphics are a little you know, a little blocky but hey, Minecraft is all blocky and that’s what we like about Minecraft, because Minecraft’s blockyness. Man, I need to stop talking about the blockyness.
----------
Sound/Music.. For the sound effects, I think to my personal opinion, I think the pre-beta 1.8 sounds are a little better than the modern sound effects (That’s why I have a retro sound plugin for my Minecraft). But that’s not what I’m here for. For the sound effects in general, I think the sounds are quite awesome, the block placing, the fighting, the mobs, the explosions, the experience gathering, I think with all these sounds, I think is what makes Minecraft a one of a kind game to play. As for music, I tell you, C418 (a.k.a. Daniel Rosenfeld, who is the music producer in Minecraft) really put in a lot of epic soundtrack in the game like all the noises in the game like the ambience noises and yes, even C418’s cat is the one that voiced the Ghast mob. But as for the occasional music that are played I think was C418’s best works in the game. I got a lot of songs in Minecraft that happened to be my most favorite modern video gaming musics. Like 9 Overworld Survivor songs, 6 Overworld Creative songs, 4 Nether songs, and 3 End songs and with 11 music in-game disks sounds you can put into the jukebox. So, for the music, C418 has done one amazing job with the music. As for the sound and music, I got to give this a perfect 10 out of 10, the reason why is how awesome the music and the sound effects are played in this game. I think this is quite a fantastic job on what C418 and the rest of Mojang has done, keep up the good work.

Addiction Level.. Minecraft is extremely addicting game, that is the reason why Minecraft’s popularity is so high, because everyone that has heard about Minecraft has played at least once in their lives and most of you are at a point you can’t stop thinking about Minecraft, and with all the For the Addiction Level score, I have to give it a perfect 10 out of 10. If they was an option to give it an 11, I would give it that number because on how addicting it in fact is. You can spend the whole day playing Minecraft for either building and/or surviving. No matter on what you do, you’ll be on this game for like ever and ever.
----------
The Storyline.. They isn’t a story in this game, but I think personally, Minecraft really doesn’t need a story at all to be a great game, the only thing that kinda relate to some kind of story is that you first try to survive and collect as much resources as you can and get better pickax and sword all the way up to diamond and you first travel to the Nether to get a few resources there before you start on your adventure to The End (if you got enough Eyes of Ender though) and you battle a bunch of Endermen and you have to battle against the Ender Dragon and once you defeat the Ender Dragon, you pretty much beat the “Story” but the game doesn’t technically ends, Minecraft never ends is why this game is so popular, it’s like a bottomless pit more like, right into the void (using a Minecraft reference). As for the storyline in the game, I have to give it a 7 out of 10, it don’t have much of a story in the game, but with Minecraft, it doesn’t even need a story to be great. That tells you that some great games needs little or no story to be an epic game.
----------
Depth.. For the Depths, this game has a whole lot, which is all I got to say. With the constant For the Depth, this also has to be easily a perfect 10 out of 10, the reason why I gave this a 10, The game, it has so much to do, so many items, so many creation, so many ways to survive, and so many other stuff that you can do in Minecraft. Minecraft’s Depth is so high and that is why I gave it a 10.
----------
Difficulty / Gameplay.. The Difficulty of Minecraft, it really depends because Minecraft has difficulty. If you want an easy game, then As for the Gameplay, I have to say, the gameplay is pretty fluent, the controls works like a charm and really have no problem what so ever. Although some controls have a little bit of flaws, but I personally think out of full, they all respond very well. They have been a couple of times where it didn’t work mostly because of lagging, but that’s mostly it. The controls use the classic “WASD” buttons (because most of the people are right handed and people use the mouse with their right hand) and those buttons works as well, and using the mouse to control the movement, they work nicely, as long it isn’t laggy though and clicking it to use weapons works like a charm as well. So, other than the lag, the controls work really well. For the Difficulty and the Gameplay in this game, I give this an 8 out of 10, the Difficulty is both easy and hard at the same time, depending on the difficulty setting you set it on. It’s up to you on how hard you want it. And as for the gameplay, the gameplay is awesome and I think Mojang did a lot of good things with their controls and make it great to use for the player.

Overall, I got to say, with everything I have said about Minecraft in this review, I got to say, Minecraft is one of those games that has broke numerous barriers in the gaming world. It has brought more people to this game all because they want to build things and that is why they are in this game, so they can have their imagination go wild in this game and create whatever in the world they want and I have seen amazing things created. Even on the Vizzed server, I have seen a whole lot of nice creations created like sprite art, houses, and just to name a view, that tells you that this is one amazing game. I think with the graphics, the sound and music, I think with those two awesome mediums added into this game is what makes this game a great game and the most famous part of what makes Minecraft. Well, Minecraft is it’s Addiction Level and the Depth, without these two, Minecraft wouldn’t of got it’s fame today, it would of died off in less than a year after creation. And with the difficulty, It’s not too easy or too hard which is a nice combination of the two which makes this game a decent game and the gameplay also makes this game really unique as well. But the only thing in this didn’t make this game to be “The Perfect Game” is it’s storyline because it doesn’t really have a storyline other than what I mentioned above, so that’s the only disadvantage, but I don’t really care too much about a story though. That’s mostly it though for this review. For the final score, I will give it a 9.7 out of 10 which is my highest I have ever given a game since I started reviews because I don’t go up to 10 out of 10 for the final score because I don’t like to sound bias. But the reason I gave this game a 9.7, it’s got a whole lot of amazing things in it and those amazing things is what really drive a lot of people to this game and on why this game got it’s fame. So, if you haven’t played Minecraft before (I don’t know on anyone that hasn’t played it yet) but you like seeing stuff like this, they you can find some way to buy this wonderful game and your life will change to the better once you play this game. This is one truly amazing game right here. Well that is all with this Minecraft review. |
