Introduction:7/10
In this 2-d arcade style fighting game ,Capcoms "Street Fighter" has come a long way to meet the characters from "Marvel" such as comic book villains, and heroes from the marvel Comics universe. As the game starts, you will be given an intro scene which introduces the characters from both ,street fighter and marvel comics showing off their moves, until the last image is shown of Ryu shaking hands with cyclops as the announcer screams out "X-men V.S Street Fighter! " taking you to the main menu screen where you can choose ,battle Mode, versus mode, training mode, survivor mode, and options mode.Press start on battle mode and choose any two of the marvel villains ,heroes,or any of the two villains of street fighter or the good guys such as ryu ,or ken. There are sixteen different characters to choose from, including the hidden character "Akuma"
Game play and difficulty:3/10
The game play and controls in X-men vs street fighter are pretty simple, and easy to handle ,during battles ,and the difficulty of this game is well balanced ,being a game that isnt too hard and isnt that easy ,but can be played ,and managed well.light ,medium or fierce punch, same for kicks ,light, medium ,fierce, along with super power specials as your special meter fills up .Unlike the arcade version, you cannot tag your partner during matches ,but can only call them to strike a hit then leave ,so dont go berzerko trying to figure out where the tagging button is.
Sound f-x and soundtrack:8/10
The sound f-x and soundtrack in this game is just as great as the arcade version delivering an awesome soundtrack of music for each character ,and amazing sound f-x from the fighting and the character voices during the clashes of the fighters .Nothing to point out as flawed ,just fair and acceptable .
Story:6/10
The game has an ending scene for each character after defeating all challengers through out the matches ,and after defeating the massive and powerful villain from marvel comics known as "The Apocalypse"then after you defeat him ,you will have to face your own partner ,which will make the real last showdown of the game before you get your ending cut-scene.
What i think about "X-men V.s Street Fighter" and what i would have prefered:
I think this game is awesome ,hands down and it is an awesome greatest arcade hit,but i would have prefered bonus stages through out the game ,like the "Super Street Fighter 2 " game where you break a vehicle ,or barrels making the game at least just a little longer, but nonetheless,i think it's a terrific game ,and one of the best in the series.
To top it off on my review about "X-men V.s Street Fighter"
It's a classic gem ,and just another one of those greatest hits, that was released for the sony playstation game console in the late 90's ,and it is one of the best of the series , i enjoyed playing this game back in the day,and still enjoy it when i revisit it now .Overall:8.5 Introduction:7/10
