What is the worst thing you have done that is against the law in your region/state/country? Did you get caught and is it in some record for the rest of your life? Or did you get away with it? Tell us, we don't rat. It doesn't have to even be that bad, just come clean and we will understand you.

To my recollection, I've never done anything illegal. However, I'm sure with there is SOME obscure rule out there I've broken.

Oh wait... we've all sped, right?  Okay, I guess speeding would be my worst violation... and I'm sure it's many other's as well. haha.  Did it stay on a record?  Sure, but I don't know how long those things -stay- on your record.   I think I've actually gotten 3 speeding tickets though, and that was enough to cause me to be more careful.  I never go more than 4 miles above the speed limit, now.

Singelli :

It counts, ofcource. I don't think of it as such a huge thing either, but when you think about it, what if you are speeding and you hit a stranger? But like I said, I don't want to be holier than though over here. We all know when we have done bad things, eh?

Highest court punishment? Piracy
Highest moral disregarding? "Report cards getting lost in the mail"
No criminal record. (But "forgoten" homework ended up being discovered.)

Never been punished or caught at all for Piracy. However, in the theoretical senerio that all the charges were to be applied for every count, I would have millions in fines and likely enough time to put me away for life, but highly unlikely to happen.

I'm probably gonna shock some that read this but the things I'm about to mention are part of my past and I'm a different person for at least a couple of years now. However, the trend in the U.S. is to punish people for their crimes for the rest of their lives so I wouldn't be surprised if a few of my fellow countrymen have that same mindset and treat me differently. If they choose to do that, I'm fine with it because they aren't people I care to associate with anyway. People change and the self-righteous will never understand the difference between where I've been or where I'm at currently.

Worst offense(s) on my criminal record: Driving Under the Influence X 3. The second was ruled as entrapment by the judge, so only two of them actually count in the eyes of the law. That means I'm only a habitual violator in a misdemeanor sort of way. Had all three have actually stuck, I would now be a convicted felon and probably would have spent time in prison. I've never been to prison and have no plans of ever going there but I've been in county lockup close to 10 times. Having said all of that, I've had a revoked drivers license since December of 2009 and it will actually be reinstated on the 26th of this month.

Due to having my license revoked for 5 years in a city/state where having one is a necessity and for the other inevitable consequences of my former lifestyle, I believe I have now learned my lesson. I've been sober for 2 years, 4 months and 5 days as of now.

There are other more serious crimes that I wasn't caught for committing but I won't go into details because I'm ready to move on and I don't want the paranoia that comes from putting things like that into written words in a very public place. To be vague about it - numerous counts of grand theft to support my various previous addictions.

The worst thing I've ever done? I stole about $20 worth of stuff from a store. I mean, I forgot I had it with me, but it's still technically stealing. I wonder what it says about me that I didn't even realize that I was committing the worst "crime" of my life until several hours later.

TBUT - Theft By Unlawful Taking. As a young adult, I had hot hands, and a big ego. I had stolen lots of small mundane things over the period of some 3 years from businesses (who I felt are used to such losses), and never got caught. If you ever have the notion to steal small items from your work - the TBUT is what they will slap you with when they send you to jail. It did knock out my then reckless 'untouchable' mentality, which could have just led me to bigger crimes if opportunity presented itself. Fortunately I was able to get a much bigger job, and by being honest with my employer, I've never had any issues come up from all those years ago.

I've done quite a few things but never anything bad enough to get me sent to jail for more than a week. Let's see I've gotten into drunk brawls in bars ( had to help pay for repairs and sat in jail for three days ), some speeding tickets ( long story & worst one was doing 100 + mph through a school zone but not during school hours ), been busted at school for drugs and booze and plenty of fights ( never did any time but I did have to do community service and pay fines ), many more things come to mind but I think this last one is worth telling just for the funny factor.

Well back in high school me and some friends were always getting harassed by this young guy who had just gotten his badge after joining the county cops in our area. After about two years of this non stop annoyance we finally decided to take matters into our own hands and prank the dude. This of course was just to put some of the crap back at him that he'd been dishing out on a regular basis. Well anyways we waited till he was at work for phone duty ( apparently this was a rotating thing for the cops there ... guess they didn't want to pay someone to answer the phones ). To cut through some of this long story ( cuz it took many hours and we had lots of close calls ) we waited till he went out in his personal car to grab a bite to eat and we took his squad car apart. We took all four tires off and set the car up on bricks. We also dismantled the front seats, steering wheel, and stereo ( which was all left in the trunk of the car. The final touches tho was emptying a large freezer bag full of skunk scent all over the car. We made sure the car was closed up and left the scene after wiping down every surface we could think of trying to cover our tracks and not leave any evidence. Then we had one of the guys call and tell him we saw someone messing with a squad car outside the police station. Should have seen the guys reaction when he saw the car and opened the car door ( projectile vomiting at its best is the only way I can describe it !!! ) !
Ok to end the story two of the five of us did eventually get caught and was made to pay fines and do community service. We never ratted out the others and to this day I would do it all over again in a heart beat. :O)

I guess it wouldn't hurt to tell.

I sent a person to the hospital. No joke. I didn't mean to, but I did. I could have easily killed him, and he's lucky he didn't die. I still feel horrible about it, but I most certainly did NOT do it on purpose!

It happened in first grade. I was only six years old, and I saw that my friends had gotten into a fight with some high school students. It was a "play fight", mind you, and everyone was just laughing and throwing empty plastic water bottles at each other. It looked fun, so I decided to join.

I sided with my peers, of course, and I started throwing bottles at the big kids, too. What happened next?

Don't even ask me how I could have
possibly thought of such a ridiculously stupid idea. I wasn't thinking (if I was, I wasn't doing it properly), so do you know what I decided to do, thinking it would be funny?

In short, a threw a rock at his head.

Ugh. It pained me to admit it. WHAT in the world was I thinking? I can't even begin to imagine what I could have possibly been expecting the outcome to be.

When I saw that throwing a rock on someone's head isn't the same as throwing an empty plastic bottle at someone's head, I felt horrible, but what I did next was even worse.

I actually walked away.

I don't care that I was six; even to this day I find it nearly impossibly to forgive myself for what I have done, regardless of how old I was when I did it. Come on! Even six year old children would be able to figure something like that out, right?

I still feel horrible, and I don't know whether even a lifetime would be long enough to do enough good deeds to make up for it. I could have killed him! I actually saw the blood on the left side of the forehead! That's why I was horrified at what I had done and walked away in shock. I don't think he got any brain damage, but I'm sure he had a painful scar; I saw him being carried to an ambulance. He needed stitches.

They did find me, of course, though, and I had two long talks with my coach about it. He asked me why I did it and I kept saying it was because I thought it would be the same thing as throwing a water bottle at his head and that I never meant to hurt him.

I swear I would have never done it if I had known what the consequences would be. I never, ever, EVER wanted to hurt anybody, and I still wouldn't even dream of having such a horrible desire.

I said a brief "sorry" while crying as he was being carried away, and I remember him saying "it's okay". If he could talk, then it probably wasn't as bad as I always imagine it to be. At least he was conscious.

I saw him several times after that, and he seemed perfectly fine. He was always talking to his friends, but we never talked to each other except for one time. He tried to get me to talk to him in the second grade, when I was seven, but I told him I didn't want to. I felt too bad.

I hope I never make such a stupid mistake again. It was just awful. I can't believe I have ever harmed someone that badly.

I'm getting better at telling excusing myself, though. This was the first time I ever thought about it without tearing .
