So this thread is meant to be about video making.  Has anyone here made videos using something like movie maker or any of that.  How did you get started in it?  What advice do you have for someone without any technology background who would like to try it.  Any videos or books you used to develop the skill.  Let me know what you guys think.

I'm kind of anti Apple when it comes down to technology but I made my first videos on iMovie. If you don't have a mac you can still get it...

The program is super super straightforward to use. A lot of it is just drag and drop, insert transition before clip here, adjust the sound at x8:43 minutes there. It is really simple to use and there is a quick tutorial if you cannot figure it out. Youtube is always there to help too. 

If you want a more powerful tool, I recommend finalcut pro.  If you have a weaker computer or an older one, you may have some problems with rendering and other properties but this is a really good video editing software. One of the best out there. Amateurs as well as pros use this.
