a thread explaining the controls and otherwise how a game functions if for example, theres no button config in the options/settings menu or if an english instruction manual (or the equivalent of one) for a game can't be found online.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the title says it all pretty much. on second thought, this can apply to a lot of games here, particularly some of the translated ones originally in japanese since there may not be any english documentation for the game at all.

Dragon's Earth

i was trying it out just now but i can't make heads or tails of what the controls are, or anything. seems like an rts game to me but without an instruction manual or something i'm literally playing blind here.

edit: looks like that attempt at bolding the top part didn't work.

Glitchraptor : not really what i made this thread for. :/ thats like pointing out that the heal spell completely annihilates the final boss in Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. also, just a thought but, with all the romhacks here, you may want to point out if that hint is for the original game or one of the hacks.

How to play Fire Emblem Awakening:

1) Recruit Donnel.

2) Level up Donnel a few levels.

3) Promote Donnel into a mercenary at level 10 or 15.

4) Sit back and watch everything die until you reach endgame. (and then destroy the final boss)

To increase the amount of "Donnies" (or create a better Donnel, which is like bonding noble gases with other elements) have him marry a female unit that can pass down the pegasus knight class, or the child is a female (so not Cherche, Maribelle, or Muriel). Donnel will then not only pass down the best skills in the game (Galeforce, aptitude, armsthrift and a high luck stat to accompany that), but he also passes down that sexy purple hair. Too bad he can't pass down his pot...

OR

1) Marry anyone (recommended Chrom or Lucina)

2) Recruit Morgan.

3) Sit back while Aether Morgan and rightful king+lethality Morgan (or any kind of Morgan, really. You could also include your other child if you are a male avatar and you married a unit that has a child herself) destroys everyone and everything. Combine this strategy with the one mentioned above and you've pretty much won.

it says what i made this thread for in the first post. so we can have a place explaining the controls and otherwise how a game functions if for example, theres no button config in the options/settings menu or if an english instruction manual (or the equivalent of one) for a game can't be found online.

if you want a thread detailing strategies you think might make it easiest to beat a a game take it to a different thread please.
