I honestly don't care much for competitive play. I just play for fun. Of course, when I play, I always do no items (except for smash ball), and sometimes final destination, but I don't do things like, fox only, and all that stuff. I also LIKE playing with items, when I just want to have fun. I don't care much for team battles though. I DO also like playing with a C-stick, and if I can, I'll use a GameCube controller, but it's not a priority of mine. On smash Wii U, I'd rather just play with the Wii U gamepad. I also don't care about "over powered" characters. I main Little Mac, and don't think he's over powered at all. I also, (in Brawl) don't think Meta Knight is Over Powered either. Maybe I'm not just good with him or something, I don't know. What do you guys think about this? I'm interested in knowing your opinions.

I don't know what it is with me, personally, but whenever I play something like Smash Bros., I can get pretty intense, and pretty competitive. Why, just last night, me, my brothers and some assorted friends all played a rousing 8-player match. It was supposed to be just a fun little game, but as soon as that smash ball appeared, we all got really, REALLY intense. It escalated to a shouting match of trash talk and 'Wombo-Combo sort of stuff ( "Where you at?!" "How do I use it??" "Get WRECKED!", etc, etc... )

I don't doubt that a lot of people can be calm when playing a game of Smash sometimes, but whenever you have a room full of people playing with you, or hell, even your little brother, things can escalate. Because that's what Smash is for some people, a competitive game to see who can beat the snot out of another guy faster, and take home bragging rights about how Samus basically mopped the floor with Mario's mustache, or how Little Mac should go back to the Lightweight Championships, and let the big boys play their game.

Just an example, I don't exactly condone some things like this.
