I'm a huge fan of Minecraft and an even bigger fan of Telltale Games. The Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, Tales From The Borderlands and The Game Of Thrones games all blew me away. However these are two things I never considered would work together seeing as Minecraft has no story or any lore whatsoever to work with.

Telltale games is currently in the works of a story based Minecraft and I'm a little puzzled as to why they would think that it's a good idea. It's one thing to take a game like Borderlands and turn it into a point and click game (an amazing one at that) but a sandbox game like Minecraft?

Telltale games hasn't let me down so a part of me hopes that they know what they are doing. But with hits after hits I think they can afford to take a risk here and there.

56% of players chose to dig the dirt
44% of players chose to let it be

This is... something I truly never thought would happen. Minecraft has a lot of story potential, what with Steve suddenly appearing one day in the middle of a blocky wilderness and having to survive agaisn't unnatural beings (zombies, animate skeleton archers, etc etc), but the fact Minecraft is truly a sandbox presents problems with conventional story progression being implemented. For example, in a sandbox rpg (Skyrim, Dragons Dogma, even Borderlands) or sandbox mmorpg (WoW, Tera Rising, Global Agenda) certain areas can be restricted based on a characters level and current quest/mission to aid in story progression, but neither of these systems are in currently in place in Minecraft. But, seeing as these are going to be seperate games, who's to say they won't implement a level or more in-depth NPC system to give them that option. I just hope they don't screw up something major with this, it won't destroy them if they do but it will hurt them nonetheless.

-EDIT-
I didn't realize how annoying this textbox is to read, fixing right now.
