What is the worst lie you have ever told?

Mine was that I was a good person, when I know now I have been selfish.

But is it a lie to have lied when you did not know you were lying at the time so thought you were not lying but telling the truth?

Totts : We are all selfish, no excuses. Everything we do is to gain pleasure and avoid pain, all acts no matter how noble are done for self gain in one way or another. And it is not a lie, a lie would be if you intentionally say something that isn't true. Well for me, the worst lie I probably ever told was to myself, telling myself that I had things I didn't have and didn't have things I had, causing me to enter a long depression I barely got out of a few months ago.

I'm tired, I'll respond when I'm not. I am a Squid, and a Marshmallow Deity, for that is what I believe.

Of course nobody is perfect, and everyone has lied at some point in their lifetime. In my opinion, if you told a lie, but thought you were telling the truth, on a technical basis its not a lie. A lie is something you say that you know is not the truth, and tell it to somebody who doesn't know if it is the truth or not.

In my case, the worst lie I have ever told is probably true for many people the same age as me. When I was in high school, I used to tell my parents I was too sick to go to school, so they let me stay home for the day. I only did it a couple times, but looking back on it now, of course I feel really bad about it. But I only did it if I didn't do my homework the previous night, so I could still hand it with no penalty XD

Anyone who says they dont lie is a liar. Thats something of a paradox.
Im trying to think of a really big lie, but I really cant hink of any.
Most of my lies tend to be white lies, as opposed to no I didnt do that, or I cant come to your house my aunt died.

A lie is knowingly disseminating false information. If you dont realise its wronng, you arent a liar, you are ignorant. Again, something that everyone is guilty of occassionally.

I wouldn't say I NEVER lie, but I definitely avoid it as much as possible, and pretty successfully.  I actually told a lie to my boss this week, and I think it was the first time I've intentionally told a lie since my senior year in high school.  It did not end up well and was more of a shaming experience for me than a rescuing one. I ended up bawling for hours after confessing, because it did nothing good for anyone.  One lie always leads to others, and I had dug myself quite a hole before I just gave up.  Now, I don't think I'll be able to gain the respect back of my supervisors.  Lying is definitely NOT worth it; I'll say that much.

To me, a lie is a lie even if it is UNINTENTIONAL.  Just because it was done by accident does not mean it's suddenly the truth. hehe.

Totts : I don't know what the worst lie I've ever told is because all of my lies have been very small. A lies a lie no matter how big or small it may be but at the same time I can't decide for sure what the worst one I told is.

The worst I ever told? I think the worst was when I lied to my parents about my church's Jr. High service. They'd always tell me how it went, and if I made friends or not. I grew tired of telling them (they're in their 50s, so they forget a lot of things) the same thing over and over, that I actually lied about having friends to avoid talking to them. They eventually found out about it, though. My parents were mostly sad than mad at me, considering what the other kids did (I don't want to go into details, since it was only verbal abuse). But after a while, I ended up making a friend. But then, she had to move away, and yeah-- now this is turning into a story. I'm just gonna end it there, before I type an autobiography of myself.

I have been told some major crap in my 21 years, but I think the worst I have ever heard was why a company couldn't hire me. 

I did my application to Company ( I won't say who to avoid naming names ). Well, within 24 hours, they called me in for an interview, and I accepted. Well, the interview lasts for about 45 minutes, and then they ask a question about how much I drive. I told them I like to drive around, but that I didn't get to drive as much as I wanted to in the military. They asked me, " You were in the military? " I replied with a " Yes sir, and I put it on my application, see? " 
What did they reply with? " Sorry, Sir, but I don't think we can hire you. You have the mindset of a trained killer, and that is bad for business. " That hurt so much. And you know what the worst part about it was? They were actually happy with my interview and I thought they were going to hire me up until that point.
