Here we go guys...the debate is on. Is it in fact ok to trim your facial hair during no shave November  and it not be considered shaving? This is tough as shaving requires a razor and trim is clippers. I trimmed this month and I feel I have not shaved but, really now is that what it is? I put all members to the test and ask which is it and why? Ok to trim? Or not ok? Is trimming shaving? And remember to obey vizzed rules when posting here and also the #1 rule of debate: we agree to disagree!

I would have to stand on this that trimming is ok. You do not actually use a razor and when you use a razor "that" is what it takes to shave. When you trim you are simply cutting hairs off to a desired length for whatever reason may be, comfort, looks. Trimming and shaving both require two seperate things to be done and each of those things cannot do the other thing. For example I cannot shave with "clippers or scissors" but, I can cut hair. Just as I cannot "trim" with a razor as a razor just shaves things. You could put all of this in hair removal but, either way it is hair removal. So that all being said, no, I believe it is ok to trim during no shave november as this process is entirely different then what shaving is or is considered. Thats what I say.

I'm in sales at a gym and my appearance is one of many high demands out of my job.  We don't get the opportunity to grow out facial hair if we have it and I frankly don't care about No-Shave November anyway.

It's for what?  Testicular caner?

I feel like break cancer awareness, where every one, including athletes and all that, wear pink.  Everyone knows about it.  It's the individual's responsibility to take care of their own health and well being and me growing out a beard isn't going to really change much of anything.  I think if you're looking for a pure definition, trimming isn't shaving.  You can trim up.  This isn't the NHL hockey play off beards we're talking here.

Look professional, look attractive, keep things tidy.
