*5 Hours Ago.* (Yeah..I write for a long time.)

*Sigh*..Well,i am crap out of luck, and inspiration to make an Anime discussion. And i am pretty burnt out from writing my upcoming Halloween special.

Plus,i'm still waiting for my layout artist to get my layout ready.

I don't feel like playing Destiny. And i'm taking a break from World Of Warcraft until the next expansion comes out.

I don't feel like walking my dogs.

I already have my Ryuk costume ready for Halloween.

What to do..? OH WAIT! SILLY OLE ME! Its October! I'll just go to Cartoon Network, and find some Halloween specials.Oh memories.

..That's odd. There not playing any specials. It's only a few days until Halloween. What's the deal? Well no need to worry,i'll just go to the schedule online,i'm sure they will play something on Halloween.

WHAT!? WHAT!?!?!?!?!? ONLY 8 SPECIALS!? THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE COURSE OF HALLO-BLAMING WEEN!?

And why the heck does adult swim come on at 8:00! When i was a kid,it was at 9:30 And no Ed Edd n Eddy BOO HAW HAW!?..NOPE! That's it,last straw.I don't care if i only make discussions about anime.I'll make a discussion on a cartoon, even if its just once.I'm tired of my childhood being neutered, and destroyed.

And i'm not just acting like some whiny old guy,who complains about everything new! There are some very good shows on Cartoon Network! Adventure time. The Amazing World Of Gumball.Uh..Wait,Chowders not on anymore? Oh.Well that's it.I need to write something to vent my rage.

*Present time.*

I have been writing for 5 hours..What time is it?

Cartoon Discussion: The Rise And Fall of Cartoon Network.(One little disclaimer, this is going to be a long one,if you don't like reading alot...Well,you're screwed.)

Hmm..Have you all noticed something very odd about the good ole Cartoon Network nowadays? How about the fact that there is a dramatic decrease,in very good shows?

Now before i lead a direct assualt against Cartoon Networks current state, allow me to take you back to 1994.Aka,Cartoon Networks birth.I don't feel like boring you with an extreme amount of details, but i will tell you this.
What made Cartoon Network great, was its original programming.Commanded by Cartoon Networks former president-Jim Samples.

Now then,"The-What-A-Cartoon! Show" Went on air in 1995,and introduced alot of ideas, and short skits.Which evolved into there own shows, such as-

Dexter's Laboratory
Johnny Bravo
Cow And Chicken
The Powerpuff Girls (My god,the teasing..)
Courage The Cowardly Dog (Best.Thing.EVER...Next to Chowder, and Ed Edd n Eddy.) and so on.

Funny thing is,some of the executives who were in charge of the programming came from Nickelodeon, including the creator of Ren & Stimpy, John Kricfalusi. With the HUGE success of the What-A-Cartoon Show, came some of the best shows ever to air on the network.Gems such as Ed Edd n Eddy, (My favorite cartoon ever!) and I am Weasel.

In time,Turner Broadcasting (which owned Cartoon Network) merged with Time Warner.Due to this, there was a mish mash spill-over from these 2 companies.Known as Black White, and Warner Brothers.Cartoons were now being shown on Cartoon Network.Along with a few reruns from Kid's WB and new shows including Justice League. (Which i will argue, may be better than its comic book counterpart.)

Ah yes, everything seems to be going good for our lovable little program..Well,there is a reason i said "Seems".This is the phase of Cartoon Network i would like to call...Well,i feel like making another comic reference.

As the 2000's came rolling in,Cartoon Network seemed to be a bit..Confused,to say the least.During the first couple of years of surviving the apocalypse, (I say apocalypse, because apparently the world was supposed to blow up due to Y2K.) Alot of Cartoon Network shows were now being viewed on its sister network.Aka,Boomerang.However,by 2006 most of the cartoons including Dexter’s Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls were coming back into thirty minute segments which were part of the show called The Cartoon-Cartoon Show.Wow,these guys were really creative with there names...

But alas, all of this came to an end. When Jim Samples-The man who started this, once wonderful network, resinged of February 7, 2007.(*sobs*) And just when things seemed like it could not get any worse,a few days after the Boston bomb scare incident involving Adult Swim’s Aqua Teen Hunger Force marketing campaign for the series’ first film. For those of you who do not know what the heck i am talking about, let me bring your memories up to speed. The marketing campaign received negative attention from the police in Boston, Massachusetts; LED placards of one of the series’ characters, Mooninite Ignignokt shown flipping the bird, were sporadically placed throughout major cities, including Boston. One placard that was located at a station was seen by a passenger who in turn notified the police. The bomb squad was called in since the LED placards resembled what they thought was an explosive device.

*Face Palm*

To sum it up for you, Jim Samples felt responsible for the incident and unfortunately stepped-down from his position. And as much as i hate to say it,when he left that day,Cartoon Network would never stay the same...Well,lets get the flute, and sad music ready.Because i am ready to burst into tears.

And that,is the end of our journey..Not really, but that's actually how i would have  preferred for this story to end.

Enter Stuart Snyder (Or as i like to call him.The seed of corruption.)

This man, succeeded Samples and, with his new title and power, has been the reason (At least one of the reasons) why so much quality programming, such as The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, has been canceled.Under Godzilla's-I mean Snyder's reign of terror, reality show-inspired cartoon shows from Canadian animation studios have emerged including Total Drama Island and 6teen.And to be honest..Those two were not really that bad.I liked them.Sure, total drama basically sucked after season 2,and was doomed to a bland, predictable, and never ending formula. But it wasn't to bad.And 6teen is a guilty pleasure.(Still have the DVD copies locked in the darkest, deepest part of my basement.Don't tell anyone..)
In those years,Cartoon Network started to look more and more like the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon. It even has its own sports award show, known as the Hall of Game Awards, hosted by Tony Hawk (Who i have not heard from in years..is he still alive?)

To top things off, under Snyder's rule, introduced a crap ton of live action shows, including Destroy Build Destroy,Dude, What Would Happen? and Tower Prep.Uh..Buddy..ITS CALLED CARTOON NETWORK FOR A FREAKING REASON! CARTOONS! CARTOONS!!!

Lets not forget,he also introduced alot of half as-..I don't think i am allowed to swear.Half-Baked animations shows.Such as,The Problem Solverz, and MAD (No Snyder, you're MAD!)

Cartoon Network, while i will admit,is starting to produce some very good shows,is in dire need of more original content. But still, even the newer stuff from Cartoon Network, often finds its way to cancellation.Cult Classics like-

Chowder
*Hugs Chowder* MY GOD! I LOVE THIS HUGGABLE LITTLE FUR BALL SO MUCH!
Chowder: Help me..

The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.Which i didn't really care for all to much..Sorry..

Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.Hey,remember when this thing had an online game?http://fhif.wikia.com/wiki/Big_Fat_Awesome_House_Party

And sadly, the show with possibly the most potentiol of all...Sym-Bionic Titan...Like i said,The Seed Of Corruption.Speaking of which, lets talk about Titan.

No you idiots. Not THAT Titan, this Titan.

This baby got sent to the chopping block,on April 9th 2011.This show was created by Genndy Tartakovsky — the man behind many Cartoon Network series including Samurai Jack.Which also got canceled ._.

Sym-Bionic Titan was Tartakovsky’s latest creation which followed the renegade lives of Illana (an other-worldly princess), Lance (the soldier with attitude) and Octus (the humanistic robot) who initially together form the fighting Sym-Bionic Titan robot. The series was a great mix of subtle humor and action and, according to Tartakovsky’s influences, was something along the lines of Voltron meets a John Hughes flick. This stuff was highly rated,in fact,it was the 3rd highest viewed show on the Network,at the time.

The Second season left many fans drooling for more.Facebook, deviantART,and tumblr petitions went through the roof.Over 2 million all over the world, signed those petitions. All those cries, fell on deaf ears. Also, thats not the worst of it.You see, when a show on Cartoon Network gets canceled, it just sort of disappears into the ether.Never to be spoken of again.Almost like it never even existed.Only to air on holiday specials. And its gotten to the point, where it appears not even that is an option anymore. (Which is the inspiration for me making this rant.) No one gives a reason for why its canceled, theres barely even an announcement. Its just..Gone.Like how the dinosaurs died out.POOF! They just vanished.Another reason is that, according to Tartakovsky himself, Cartoon Network canceled Sym-Bionic Titan over the fact that the series didn’t produce a toy line...You're kidding me,right?

Its kind of funny actually. Its almost like theres a pattern with the shows that get axed off.Just look at these shows for a second.

They always appeal to a younger demographic. But right when the show gets popular with all ages, they get destroyed.

And once again people, over 2 million signatures. All across the world, demanding for titan to come back, somehow. And plenty of other old showsMaybe some other version of boomerang, that plays fan favorites.

Some may feel that these lengths are a bit extreme and whiny, but, in the past, shows that were once said to be no more, like Family Guy and Futurama, have been resurrected by who else? Its fans. Cartoon Network has to remember the original programming that made it great, and give a new series a chance to resinate with its audience.

However..It appears that not all hope is lost.We have made some very good progress from those times. For instance,i would argue that Adventure time, was one of the few shows that saved Cartoon Networks skins (Btw,would you like to know something? The Adventure time franchise, has made millions of dollars,on its own.) Then we have some newer stuff, such as Clarence (Which i REALLY do not see the appeal in.I honestly don't know why everyone is loving it..) Then we have Regular Show.Star wars the Clone-..Crap.Well,these shows are basically the last bastion of things holding the Network up.All we can do is hope that more of these cult classics arive in the future.

Now to end this,i would like to ask you-The Reader a question. What do you think of Cartoon Network right now? Do you think that it can still survive? Or is it on its last legs?

That's all i have to say.And despite how fun (And depressing it was..) to make this,i will most likely not do anything like this again. My love belongs to Anime, and Manga.See yah on Halloween *waves*

..OH WAIT.Snyder,if you're reading this.I have one thing to say to you.I can give up the Halloween special.Sure.That's alright.BUT! If Ed Edd n Eddy Jingle Jingle Jangle does not come on,on Christmas eve! GOD HELP YOU SIR! GOD HELP YOU!

Oh yeah,Gumball is pretty good to.
