Introduction: Hello! This will be my review of Namco Museum. This game holds games from Namco that are pretty famous, but can also be pretty difficult or easy. It holds famous titles like Pac-man and Galaga. Some might be lesser known (in my case, this was the first time I heard of these games), like Tower of Drauga and Xevious. Lets get to the main review then!
Story: There isn't much to say when it comes to story. This game is mainly full of Arcade games, which seem to hold no story, unless you search up the story. I gave story a 4, because of the fact these games do have stories, but they can be pretty hard to notice at first, to not being able to notice them at all unless you research them.
Difficulty: The game can be pretty difficult, especially if you suck at arcade games (Like me- Curse you Galaga and Tower of Drauga!). Some controls can be hard at first, especially Tower of Drauga at times. The goals can be hard to figure out sometimes as well (Like with Mappy, I thought the doors were the goal haha. Silly me.) And then, the timing for games make it even more difficult, because you need to get things at the right time or risk losing a life and getting a game over (Like with Galaga and Tower of Drauga. The enemies and the need for timing.) It also seems harder, because there seems to be practically no pattern in how they move. If you get enough practice though, the games can get easier, but definitely won't be a walk-in-the-park. So, difficulty gets a 7.
Graphics: The graphics are like how they'd be if they were in their arcade machines- which, to say, doesn't usually have the best graphics. They aren't very detailed, but I know they aren't supposed to be detailed. They aren't blurry, but they seem pixelated (But, like I said, they are made to look like they'd be if they were simply arcade machines). Since they are arcade games, but also not the best with graphic design, I give graphics a 7.
Depth: I believe this game has a very nice depth. It offers 7 of Namco's Arcade games: Galaxian, Pac-Man, Galga, Xevious, Mappy, Tower of Drauga, and Dig Dug II (One of my favorite ones since it's one of the easiest haha). Arcade games have a lot of depth, since they seem to be pretty much endless, due to the fact that they were made to burn time. Due to what seems like endless levels and the 7 games it offers, I give depth a 8.
Sound: I have always liked sound from older games better than sound from the newer ones we see today. I love the fact that it makes a sound when you push 'start', once for inserting a coin and another to actually start the game. They don't add any special music to the games, keeping them pretty original, with only what they had originally. Sound affects when you shoot, eat ghosts, destroy a piece of land, the music at the beginning, all of it. For that, I give sound a 9.
Addictiveness What's a good arcade game without addictiveness? Nothing, is the answer. Namco, to me, is known for making some of the most famous, and possibly the most addicting, arcade games there are. And this game offers 7 of them. The classic ones everyone knows keep you there, and the ones that you aren't good at/ didn't know existed until then make you come back so you can get better at them, and eventually get a better high score. This game was made so you'd keep coming back. Since it's simply addicting, in every sense of the word, I give addictiveness a solid 10.
Mathematical Score Overall: 7.5 Personal Opinion Score Overall: 8.8
Math wise, with the scores I gave, the overall total would be 7.5. But, in personal opinion, I give it a 8.8.
I believe this game is worth a try, especially if you like to play arcade games and want to bring them everywhere you go.
