Here is yet another review for an anime i have watched and enjoyed. I hope people appreciate the fact that most of the time it is hard to write a review on shows that are usually bursting with small pieces of information to write about.. I could easily do so but i would rather write about the general aspects of a show to entice other people to actively watch it than simply read about everything that happens Please enjoy and consider watching any anime i review, Thanks Synopsis At the request of his sister , Oreki Houtarou joins the classics club , a club dedicated to literature . It is on the brink of being disbanded and with the help of a few schoolmates they get it up in running again . However this club hardly focuses on many literary aspects , fellow club member Chitanda Eru starts it all off with a request to help her solve the mystery of Hyouka . Genre 7 For the most part this is a soothing slice of life anime , but the main focus of it is mystery . They have concrete inciting stories that pull you in and try to solve them along with the group . This is no Sherlock Holmes though , the mysteries are pretty tame . I think maybe one mystery was a bit boring but they do not last very long seeing as this anime lasts 22 episodes . It is not a major factor but there is also a little bit of romance in between it all . There isn't much excitement, but keep in mind this is a slice of life , as for myself I enjoyed the mysteries . Story 8 As I said the mysteries are a bit tame but they make sure to cover all grounds with what they use . They do not keep you worrying that you are missing some detail , they lay it out pretty smoothly . It all comes together quite cleverly in the end . Something else to admire is the growth of the characters , Oreki in particular. He starts out as a very dull person with no motivation , not willing to do anything he does not have to do . You see him grow as a person for the better though it is very gradual which seems a bit more realistic to me . As a whole , it is fun to watch these characters interact together and see them with all their quirks and big personalities . Though I would not go into this looking for a good romance , it falls short of that pretty harshly. Detail 10 Once again I have chosen another production from Kyoto Animation . Their art is as always superb and beautiful to see , Hyouka being in my opinion one of their better pieces actually . I feel like I could just talk endlessly about how much I appreciate their style so I will keep this on point and short . They are known for making things cutesy and they do maintain that here as well but they do not slack on anything else either . The smallest things you do not even notice are done with care and made rather realistically . Sound 9 Another trend I notice is I always enjoy the music Addictiveness 7 This definitely is not something for everyone and even I could not watch it all so quickly . A few episodes here and there were a great pass for me . The most addictive part of it is once you start a new mystery you want to see it through to the end , just you get sucked into the story of it . Luckily it is pretty blatant when a story ends so you will not have to worry about accidentally starting a new one . Over-All 8 I enjoyed how neatly and pretty everything was made , it is something I always enjoy . The mysteries although not very deep they have meaning and purpose and it is fun to see how it all plays out . If you want more out of your mysteries I would not recommend this . I enjoyed watching the characters and the relaxing yet intriguing feel of it all so if you want something to sit back and watch unfold at a slow and steady pace this would be the one for you . Thank you for reading this review, It means a lot to me x Though honestly if your name is not Eniitan and you read this please posts, I want to see how many people are actively reading these thanks.. I don't watch anime nearly as much as I used to, but I love it more than I ever did now. I love a good anime that can keep me hooked and get me to feel good (but to be honest, I don't really care whether it's an "anime" or a "cartoon", as long as it's good). I will definitely consider watching this anime and will check it out! |

Eniitan : Sorry it just feels weird summoning people to a review if that makes sense, I am not one of these users that really likes summoning people in an opening post of a thread because personally to me it looks like i would be just summoning people to make sure the thread got some replies because i was not confident in the quality of the post ... Plus the reviews will always be in this forum and as it does not get that much constant activity you will be able to find them easily.. . supernerd117 : Well thanks if my review has made someone want to actively give the show a try then i honestly will be proud, It would make me feel like someone had trust in me to believe that my opinion is correct. If you do end up watching the anime and do not like it i apologise but i am glad it made you look at it regardless x3 supernerd117 : Well thanks if my review has made someone want to actively give the show a try then i honestly will be proud, It would make me feel like someone had trust in me to believe that my opinion is correct.
