I love the Soulcalibur series. I own the 3rd and 5th and I used to own the 2nd. Imagine Tekken with more weapons and cooler characters. That's (almost literally) what Soulcalibur is.

Who is your favorite character from the franchise?

Yoshimitsu used to be my favorite when I was a kid, until I went deeper into the game and noticed that he was way too slow and hard to use. I also liked Nightmare and Siegfried a lot. I bought Soulcalibur V a few weeks ago because it was only $3.74 on sale. I definitely like Maxi the most because he has so many combos and different moves. His range is pretty short, but he can still hit characters with ease.

My favorite Soul Caliber character would have to be Nightmare. Forever.

Nightmare/Siegfried is a total beast, but not my favorite.

My main has always been Mitsurugi or Cervantes.
Mit is excellent for punishing mistakes, and Cervantes has my favorite move set in the game
Plus who doesn't want to play as a pirate?
But if we're talking SC2, I gotta mention Link
Most of my friends played playstation, so I got it for ps2 and gamecube, just because I wanted to play as Link.
Heihachi was cool and all, and combo'd well, but the lack of range really killed it for me.
Soul of Devil Jin had the same problem later, but had a move set that made up for it with the lunge attacks and such.

My favorite in the Soul Calibur series is Kilik.

I find him to be very easy to use with his movesets and he is a very balanced sort of player. Plus who wouldn't want to whack people with a stick with no excuse?

The first character I always went to was my homegal, Taki. Knowing how to work that speed, speed, speed. And banishing demons for a job description is pretty cool.

Holy crap, Viola is practically OP in Soulcalibur V. Definitely my main, and I think it'll be staying that way for a very long time. She has combos better than all other characters (except Nightmare's cheap 4-hit-kill combos, but Viola's are still cooler), without a doubt the best range in the game, but also has very good short ranged attacks. It's like fighting two characters.

Hit Viola, she'll send her orb flying at you, grab you after it hits you, send her orb crashing down on you while you're still on the ground, run over and use a kick attack, two verticals then one horizontal, another grab, then hit you with her orb again. Then you're dead. She has some seriously good combos.

Great range, medium learning curve, overall fast with fast attacks, inescapable combo strings... I could keep going on. The only thing bad about her is that there are characters who deal more damage than her. But who cares? Less damage = Less endlag and knockback = Better combos.

Well, I own soul calibur 3, and I always enjoyed it so much to create a character, I really do not know why xD and I kinda came better along with created characters than with main characters, especially if they fought with lances, great swords or Katana & Shurikan o= But my favorite character from the main cast would be probably Siegfried

I know a lot of people have already said this but I pick Nightmare because he's my best character. I really enjoy using him as well.
