Ah, Chrono Trigger.

This game is seriously one in one thousand. Even by though I was born at the N64-Gamecube era, I'm still that huge classic game fan very few people of my age are, as they keep messing their heads in their modern cellphones.

I play games though, and I can't stress how awe-inspiring this game is.

I played Chrono Trigger for the first time only two months ago, and I recognize how awesome this game is. I decided to make a review of it so I can gush all over it a little more.

Graphics - 10

This game's graphics aren't the best in the system by far(Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island and Donkey Kong Country crush this game like all the others), but they are still awesome as they are. Seriously, the graphics are great and this just shows. I don't think I should say much else.

Sound - 10

This game's soundtrack is by far, the best soundtrack in the generation. Just let the title roll for a little bit, and you will instantly hear my favorite track in the whole game. I think this deserves more than 10.

Addictiveness - 9

Uh, I'm not exactly fond of replaying a 30-hour adventure, but this game is so good it's forgivable.

Story - ∞

SERIOUSLY. This game is a common-day RPG Epic. If it doesn't have a 10-worthy story, it's because it's a Mario & Luigi game. And this game's story is one of the strongest stories ever. I can't say the first ten minutes of the game because it's already a spoiler. It's THAT GOOD.

Depth - 9

30 hours is a lot, but not that much for a common-day RPG Epic. In fact, it's only 30 hour long for a full-side quest run, otherwise it can be 22 to 20 hours long. Not that I care about this, but...

Difficulty - 7

Right to the point - This game is EASY. I can give credit to Masa & Mune, because that boss is so hard that I think it gave two extra points to the Difficulty. But I'm giving it a 7 because the side quests are very hard. Seriously.

Overall - 9.7

This game isn't perfect in any sense of the word, but it's good as it is. Seriously, this game is amazing. I can't give it a solid 10, but for THE LOVE OF CRONO, I can't think of any way this game could be better. If you haven't played this game, play it. But a small warning - There's a point in the game you will probably get stuck on, and very early on. If this happens to you, keep patient and look for a walkthrough. This game deserves every second of your presence.

i grew up in the gamecube era as well, but for me it was the ps2 era. This is a good first review but i do recommend adding more in each column next time as most columns only had 1-2 lines of text. but other than that, great first review.

Don't take me the wrong way, Chrono Trigger is probably my favorite game but I feel like you're giving the game a little too much credit, it's far from perfect, good? Absolutely, but still far from perfect. (Bear in mind I know you said this yourself.)

Well, I don't know about you but I beat Masa & Mune on the first try, sure it was a decently long boss battle but hardly impossible, I managed to do it fairly easily, you just gotta know your ropes around the game which by that particular fight I'd imagine most people do.

Addressing soundtrack: Yes, this game has my second favorite soundtrack to date, but I honestly like Nobuo's work in Final Fantasy VI more than his work in Chrono Trigger, although I'll gladly admit that the opening is downright epic.

As for addictiveness, I'd say it's one of those games I'll randomly catch myself playing when I've got a little spare time, I blew through the first play through but at this point I sort of just fondle with it, I've beaten in a ton of times though.

If the graphics are crushed by Donkey Kong country and SMW2: Yoshi's Island why is it rated a ten? Wouldn't a 7-9 be a more accurate given that it's not the best? I dunno man, it's your review.

I do look forward to the possibility of you replying to me, you seem to share some of my old opinions on the game fairly accurately, if you happen to reply be sure to click "reply to post" next to my post, otherwise I won't be able to see that you responded to me.

lennonluiz0907 :  A nice review. I agree the graphics are not the best, but the characters had many little animations, it was some small touches that made it 9 worthy.  I'd argue the replay is made bearable by all the wildly different endings you can get on a New Game +, and I didn't hear you mention that part?

There was a spiritual successor to this game in the Playstation era- it was called Chrono Cross -- which I"m pretty sure you can also play on VIzzed if you have the PS item. I personally didn't like Chrono Cross much, but it does feature several nods to the original game - so give it a try since you liked Trigger so much.

I actually grew up in the 80's NES days, so I still own an original copy of this game, and yeah, soundtrack is just great. My favorite is the Zeal theme (Corridors of Time? I think?).
