Ah, Chrono Trigger.
This game is seriously one in one thousand. Even by though I was born at the N64-Gamecube era, I'm still that huge classic game fan very few people of my age are, as they keep messing their heads in their modern cellphones.
I play games though, and I can't stress how awe-inspiring this game is.
I played Chrono Trigger for the first time only two months ago, and I recognize how awesome this game is. I decided to make a review of it so I can gush all over it a little more.
Graphics - 10
This game's graphics aren't the best in the system by far(Super Mario World 2 Yoshi's Island and Donkey Kong Country crush this game like all the others), but they are still awesome as they are. Seriously, the graphics are great and this just shows. I don't think I should say much else.
Sound - 10
This game's soundtrack is by far, the best soundtrack in the generation. Just let the title roll for a little bit, and you will instantly hear my favorite track in the whole game. I think this deserves more than 10.
Addictiveness - 9
Uh, I'm not exactly fond of replaying a 30-hour adventure, but this game is so good it's forgivable.
Story - ∞
SERIOUSLY. This game is a common-day RPG Epic. If it doesn't have a 10-worthy story, it's because it's a Mario & Luigi game. And this game's story is one of the strongest stories ever. I can't say the first ten minutes of the game because it's already a spoiler. It's THAT GOOD.
Depth - 9
30 hours is a lot, but not that much for a common-day RPG Epic. In fact, it's only 30 hour long for a full-side quest run, otherwise it can be 22 to 20 hours long. Not that I care about this, but...
Difficulty - 7
Right to the point - This game is EASY. I can give credit to Masa & Mune, because that boss is so hard that I think it gave two extra points to the Difficulty. But I'm giving it a 7 because the side quests are very hard. Seriously.
Overall - 9.7
This game isn't perfect in any sense of the word, but it's good as it is. Seriously, this game is amazing. I can't give it a solid 10, but for THE LOVE OF CRONO, I can't think of any way this game could be better. If you haven't played this game, play it. But a small warning - There's a point in the game you will probably get stuck on, and very early on. If this happens to you, keep patient and look for a walkthrough. This game deserves every second of your presence.
