Disgaea was a good game to me, but it seemed really underrated. Guess people are not big fans of role playing games nowadays.

I fell like Super Paper Mario is such a unloved game. But personally I love the game.

I always liked the Dragon Quest series, especially Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King. It is one of my top 5 RPGs of all time. But most here in the United States still don't like it as much as the Japanese do, and to me that's always been a shame. It is pure RPG goodness. Level grinding, very simple mechanics, some very decent music(one of the best town themes I ever heard comes from Dragon Quest 2), but let's face it, Dragon Quest franchise is trying to compete with Final Fantasy franchise in some peoples minds, including mine. I figured it's time to give Dragon Quest franchise some of the love we have saved for Final Fantasy franchise, even though Final Fantasy franchise is more story rich than Dragon Quest franchise is.

A lot of people really, really hate Final Fantasy XIII, but I honestly thought it wasn't that bad. At the very least, it's better than Final Fantasy II. I don't know, sometimes it's nice to sit back and relax with a game that isn't really difficult, and that's the role that XIII serves best. At the same time, the worst part of any game for me is the part where I wander around with no idea where to go, just hoping to stumble upon the solution...and XIII doesn't have that problem. It's a relaxing game that you can just sit back and play. If you're the type that hates Metal Gear Solid's cutscenes, though, you won't like it. It has more cutscenes than any MGS game.

I hate to admit it, but I actually quite enjoyed Shadow The Hedgehog.  Shadow was my favorite sonic character ever since I played Sonic Adventure 2 and I was going through my whole preteen angst phase.  Looking back at it now, it isn't really that great of a game but I had a lot of fun playing against my friends in the two player battle mode.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, granted in a solo experience the game could be considered the biggest piece of trash out that year, but it was the first return back to zombies in a long time that we had been waiting for, I had an entire group of friends that played the game with me and we all had our characters picked out from the start, there was communication and we really got the most of the game that way.

The action was fun, the zombies weren't terrifying but it was nice to finally go up against something that wanted to eat my face instead of beat it to death, then you had the player zombies after your friends died and that was a fun concept, there was a death match appeal between your elite ops and the task force that was up against you, it had all the old nostalgic monsters back and so long as you had a good group to play with it, the shooting mechanics and everything felt solid for the most part, it was kind of silly how many bullets enemies could take but I didn't bicker.

I think most people probably tried it out by themselves, or played it with a bunch of randoms who were trying to do nothing but outdo the other and ended up dying to the stronger beasts of the game, it even had Tyrants and such, like come on! That's pretty awesome...

Plus there was that whole change of heart near the end where you could literally choose to be the bad guy, or good guy and your friends would show their true colours and you'd get to have a final death match like showdown to determine the ending you guys got, under rated stuff in my opinion.

I have to say Metal Gear Solid 2. Almost everybody hatet it because of Raiden, but liked it a lot because of the epic cutscenes and all the funny things happening there, it was just a crazy mix. I never was upset that I could play Snake only in the tanker chapter, because he played a roll troughout the whole game. I only played Metal Gear Solid 1-3 (well, and Rising if that counts) yet, but I love it just as much the other ones.

Very few people know that my boyfriend got me shadow the hedgehog a week before it's release...If you want to know how too bad. I just "got that game". That being said I beat it 100% before the release date and told many a person how great the game was! THEY THOUGHT OTHERWISE... But hey, if them's the breaks and you're a diehard sonic fanboy, bummer for them.

Suikoden 4. Couple things in particular I like about it:

1. A single inventory you could use items from, with (I believe) 99 of each item allowed

2. Character revival items could be purchased at most/any item store.

Final Fantasy VIII.  Not many people liked that one because of the whole draw system, and I can agree there, that it is often times very annoying when you can only draw one or two spells at a time and they affect your stats, but that was one of my all time favorite games.  I'd say a top 5 for me.  I even had a few of the action figures and many of the summons figures.  I loved how almost impossible the card game was later on in the game...so frustrating most of the time.  I really liked how you could make your own weapons based off of the items you collect as well.  Gives you a lot of farming to do on some pretty tough enemies for the best weapons.  The love story is much like an anime with the main character ( Squall ) acting much like a nervous boy when he first meets a cute girl that kind of likes him and finds him interesting
