Cyndaquil for me. Only fire starter I ever used until Fennekin came out. It may partially be because the first time I started Soul Silver, the FIRST TIME I tried I got a female Cyndaquil, and that just filled me with ridiculous amounts of glee.

Little miss Opal has stuck with me since then, though she's a Typhlosion now and seriously OP.  I always liked Totodile too, (because crocodilian)  but Cyndaquil became my favourite. They're cute, they're powerful, and their in-game noise doesn't kill my ears if I'm wearing headphones. That's actually a pretty big thing.
