Should we change streaming to a different site?

Should we change streaming to someplace else? If you've had experience with or know someone that has had big problems with this site and its streaming, explain what happened.
Heck yeah!

Their latest update has screwed the pooch and is on the way to killing the site.

http://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/questions/8315308

http://blog.twitch.tv/2014/08/vod-twitch-weekly-for-the-week-of-august-8th-2014/

Not only has their site recently implemented poor copyright protection(So poor that they, at first, muted their own stream and then some), are going to remove past broadcasts within the next 2-3 weeks until you compress them into 2 hour "highlights"(Which is subject to muting from the copyright system they put in place if you're not careful), and you can't get the original audio back in those 30 minute segments if you have copyrighted music in it for, say, 10 seconds; but their latest update has crippled their streaming service, making users drop so many frames, it appears, to Twitch, to crash and start a new stream after it recovers, every 4 minutes and 28 seconds, even shorter than that.

This site is going down the drain fast, is outdated, and is being held with Elmer's glue and chewing gum. I personally think that Vizzed should switch streaming to Hitbox, since it has many things that Twitch should have, and easier to do. Like an easier partner program, easier group making, more interactive chat with polls and everything, 4-7 second chat delay opposed to Twitch's 40+ second delay(Which is REALLY sad), and then some.

What do you all think, though? Should we switch to a different streaming site? What problems did you come across Twitch(if any), or even any good things if you think Twitch is still worth it to stay at? (If this poll needs to be moved somewhere more relevant, then go ahead.)

I definitely think that we should change streaming to a different website. Although I am not a streamer, I am a typical viewer of live streams. Not only do streamers notice the drastic changes but the viewers do as well. Twitch is really a whole lot of mess that gives everyone the unnecessary stress and we all shouldn't have to get all of these problems thrown into our faces.

Hitbox, on the other hand, is in beta version right now and is doing way better than Twitch. The delay is very short and helps the interaction between streamers and viewers. Not to mention that the poll is a handy tool as well when it comes to decision making. I feel much better being in Hitbox especially when it keeps everything active and going on the long run.

Agreed all the way.

Also, as a major warning, a user's latest post to my thread has a link to a pic of a shirtless camgirl. And 650 people voted it up instead of talking about the problem. And I can't delete the post. Congrats Twitch, on giving me more ammo to use against you.

If Twitch can allow something like that, I'm done streaming there. And I really don't want Vizzed to be associated with that degrading site anymore now that that's happened.

Anyways... Anyone else have any big problems with that site other than that?

Yes, I also have problems with twitch website. There is no possible way to have our browser games connect with twitch website so we must always do it ourselves and 90% of the time it has no GBA systems. I also don't like how they don't help new people its always the big popular paid streamers that get the views. Lastly twitch is now evil! More evil than it was before youtube brought it. So ya lets switch to hitbox.

Only the popular streamers are getting all of the glory and fame. For example, Djinn (lilwildwolf21) barely got any viewers (5-10 people each time) when he streamed from Twitch and from the few times that he streamed on Hitbox, he had around 100 viewers watching. I definitely agree with mastergame's statement.

If this issue turns even more urgent, we should consider telling David to switch to Hitbox or at least away from Twitch. I always see either 1-2 people streaming on Twitch anyway.

And as if you need more reasons to get off of Twitch, it is now the recent victim of a DDoS attack by something called "Lizard Squad". It now has loading problems from slowness, stopping mid-load, to not loading at all from errors, and streams are affected too.

Again I ask, should we move out of that place ASAP? :/

a whole bunch of updates are rumored to be happening soon
Lizard squad hacked PSN, Riot games and multiple other places.
Hitbox still has problems and someone i watched switched back to twitch because the chat box wouldn't sync up with him

mourinhosgum : nope hitbox still wins after all we are talking about Amazon here where they advertise there brand left to right. Another problem with Amazon that they could remove many advertising twitch channels (like my) and still keep the VOL video mute system. Now understand that Google already has a live streaming serves so it could have been a anti-law ruling that effect. Lastly the things we pay like turbo and turbo+ could sky rocket which will then leave us with some kind of basic system that really doesn't fit with everyone.

so no its not a good thing, its a way for Amazon to get more money from us gamers.

I agree, but it might take some time to get everybody as a whole used to hitbox or whatever is used.

Agreed, I don't like having to split broadcast in to smaller segments and the copyright protection really isn't helping them. Now Amazon bought them which might make it even worse! The whole DDos attack thing is scaring me, I don't really want to use it anymore after that .

One of my favourite Nerd News Reporters made mention of "twitch" going through odd changes.
It would probably be for the best to move "streaming" ideas.
Where to?
I have no idea.
It seems that every time the public finds a way to communicate with a video medium?
A site gets flagged, tagged, lawsuit-ed, and/or "BOOTED".
(In this case? "Bought".)

I could be wrong. I hope I'm wrong.
The news everywhere seems to boil my blood lately. It's probably just me.

Good Luck To All.
Peace.

Well, considering that less and less people are on the Twitch Streams list in the RGR, it may only be a matter of time before Hitbox is either implemented or replaces Twitch.

The DDOS, the 4:28 cuts before, the copyright muting, the huge and unnecessary chat delay, the site and chat themselves becoming user-unfriendly, its userbase continuing to sink to lower levels of intelligence(Fish Plays Pokemon? POTATO Plays Pokemon? REALLY GUYS?! And by the way, PPP was flagged for no gaming content, which is true, and then Twitch unbanned it because... Well, potato, cause it makes as much sense), and now being bought by Amazon?

That site is gonna be done and dead.
