I am thinking of creating a Youtube channel for games and random other things so I am going to ask questions about the set-up and things to do with it:
What good screen recorders are there? (preferably free)
What good video editors are there? (Preferably free)
If I use the Vizzed site for a source of gaming is there a way to share my videos with you all?
does anyone know of a good walk through on how to edit videos?

The best screen recorder is bandicam, its has a 10min limit but youtube has a 15min limit videos for new accounts so its a good way to learn.

the best one has to be VSDC editor, it offers a non-linear tool this means that unlike in most other editors, where scenes come one after another in a linear sequence and certain order, VSDC allows objects to be placed in any position on the time line and have any size.

you can not share with everyone unless you plan to stream but that will also be very hard because streaming will give your more problems than a recorded video.

like a said the best video editing is VSDC so he is a youtube video about the program

And once past the 15 min. Limit, try ZD Soft. They have unlimited recordings for about 1 month, so extended Ideas like Speedruns can be done.

Bandicam is good, but I would also suggest OBS. OBS gives you the option to switch bewteen streaming and simply recording and allows you to add other stuff to the recording such as cam, text, or images, I dont know if Bandicam can do that.

theres a problem with OBS (open broadcast system) and I even made a thread explaining what happens to users who try to use it. OBS is done manually it has no step-by-step guide so everything you want to know is scared all over the Internet. Another problem is that the recording makes it have huge output which is not ok for old computers like my 4 year old computer.

https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/high-cpu-usage-taking-too-long-to-encode-read-this-first.11641/

as been explained already OBS does not do well on older systems (windows vista, xp, and Mac) so this leaves people to not use OBS and switch to xsplit which is even worst then OBS. I also don't think its ok for new people to use OBS recorder since youtube has format rules and that could lead them waiting for a 5min video upload to a 1 hour upload. Lastly to prove my case, OBS does not record/stream older games that have not updated their drivers.

https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/game-capture-is-not-working-for-certain-older-games.15144/

so in a way, no OBS is too complex and mess up to use as a beginner.
