The criteria is that it has to be one of Link's main traveling companions that followed him for all of or at least a significant portion of the game. My favorite is Midna because she was awesome and contributed a lot to the game.


How about you guys? Who is your favorite and why?

I also liked Midna she was very different from Navi and Tael. She had some attitude and was very helpful when it came to warping you to a different area on the map. She even helps you attack during beast mode. I also like Fi her vocabulary was very interesting to read and she is also the spirit of the Master Sword.

I think Midna had a distinct personality that all the others lacked. Then again, I haven't played Skyward Sword. But from my experience.

Midna from Twilight Princess had more character development than any other traveling companion so she easily takes the cake here so I'll pick her. I  also do think Ezlo from The Minish Cap is a good character to consider.

Midna, as is commonly mentioned, is a good companion as she has a high degree of plot significance. Also, Spirit Tracks Zelda is a good choice for the same reason... I think Spirit Tracks is the game where Zelda herself bears the most screen time (Skyward Sword is probably a close second).

I have to say.... Moosh.

Yes, the blue bear from the Oracle games. I mean, he's a big, sleepy, flying bear that can ground pound enemies and likes bananas. Just like any real bear does. And he sticks with you from the second dungeon onwards (at least in Seasons, don't remember Ages all that well right now)

If he doesn't count though, I actually think Midna is a good choice

Midna, for being heavily involved with Twilight Princess's story and for being the only 3D Zelda partner (not counting the boat) that didn't make me want to pull my hair out. Navi and Tatl were annoying, and I hate Fi with every living fiber of my being. Midna isn't like any of them, in which she's actually very helpful and even goes through more character development than nearly every other character in the franchise. Not that's really saying much considering that Zelda is surprisingly not a very character-focused series.

I'd definatly would have to say navi from ocarina of time. Just because that game is my favororite game. But nit just because that. Its because she/ he (im pretty sure its a she) is very usful and i didnt dind her to be annoying has others say she is.

Midna, no doubt. She actually held a key role in the plot whilst being interesting enough for you to want to see her tale unravel fully. She also had a lasting influence besides being known for just one trait (cough cough, navi and fi, cough cough).

I like Midna, she's less annoying than the other companions definitely a step up from Navi or Tatl haha... Besides she's a total bad ass

I like Midna best since she was less annoying out of all of them so far, and had more of a role then navi did. She also had the most character development through the game, but Not sure if Ricky that kangaroo would count like Midna would, he was my favorite animal companion in the Oracle games.

I'm bandwagon here as I also choose Midna as the most helpful assistant Link had as she actually helped you out on the puzzles and she sometimes helped you out on what your doing if you forgot. And she was a key character to the story

Midna. She was cool, cute, and wasn't annoying like Navi or Fi. For once a companion to Link we can tolerate, and actually LIKE. Man...

Midna! She was little, freaky and cool.

I also liked uppity Princess Ruto as a little tadpole.. lol.  She was demanding for a guppy stuck in a fish's belly.

Ashbashley : I dare to say this but my favorite ones are Navi and Tatl. Wow all comments are Midna !!! LOL. Anyway Navi may seem annoying, but she saves you in lots of Temples, dungeons and during your quest journey. I like her, she's an OK character to me. For Tatl, she's also good to me. I read the manga of MM so I can say at least some information. Warning!! SPOILER ALERT!!! I'm gonna say some spoiler SO READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!! Link met Tatl and her younger brother, Tael. The young hero chased the Skull Kid because he stole the magical Ocarina of Time. He got transformed into a Deku Scrub and the kid left Tatl behind. Tatl blamed Link that Tael left her. And so Link and Tatl begin a journey in Termina... my opinion on Navi and Tatl is Navi is more annoying, while Tatl is more sensitive. Allow me to explain what 'sensitive' means. Sensitive is usually when a person immediately feels something good, negative things like that. Like if you say your skin is sensitive, it means that immediately you get cold. U know what I mean? That was just an example. So yeah, I find Tatl more sensitive. She's more aggressive, naif etc... she may be impulsive. My score on those two fairies are 9/10 for Navi and 8.5/10 for Tatl. Their great companions for Link .

My favorite of Link's companions over the games would have to be Midna from Twilight Princess.  She is very interesting, she is helping and most of all, she has SASS.(snaps in a Z formation.)  I love her and she is really cool in her own aspects.  She has own fleshed out back story.  I hope that they bring her back in another game, either as a companion or just as a little one off side character.  

Midna from twilight princess, she's just like a little fire ball of sass and she's actually quite useful unlike Fi and Navi in my opinion. And I just love twilight princess and I kind of like how dark it is. Speaking of which I should go back and try to find all of the poes that I kind of ignored.

Tael, only talked when necessary as opposed to "Hey Listen!" and "Link!" all the time.  

I thought Midna had a distinct personality that the other companions lacked. I also love the classic owl from the older top-down Zeldas.

Ashbashley : My favorite of Link's companions is Linebeck even though he starts off as a jerk and coward he eventually redeems himself in the end and for that reason I think he's fantastic!
