Okay, so as the thread title says, which status condition do you hate the most when it comes to playing pokemon?

For me, it is a close call between being confused and being poisoned. At least with confusion it might last a few turns (if you're lucky) and you can recover from it, but with being poisoned, it is permanent until you reach a poke center. So for this, I am going to say that I hate being poisoned the most.

Still though, even though those are the most common, they can all be very frustrating to deal with in their own way, being frozen seems to last forever, and being paralyzed can be a nightmare when you are trying to attack your opponent.

So which status is the most annoying to you and why?

Please don't come here just to get one spammy post in, if that is the case, then don' t post here.

To be honest for me would be poison and also confusion. Its really annoying how an opponent poke will just use it on you. Actually put them both together, and that will kill you in the most annoying way.....so, that's why I always make sure to have full heal with me at all times....

It's hard to say for sure which statuses I hate the most. I think all of them annoy me to pieces, but if we're talking about the newer generations where poison doesn't take effect as you walk....  I'd be hard pressed to choose between sleep and paralysis.  I HATE not being able to take a turn, and I'd even take the risk of hitting myself over not being able to do anything at all.

I don't think I've had enough experiences with being frozen to really have an opinion, but if it lasts the longest like you say... I'd hate it.  Even if there's a small chance of being able to take your turn... I'd hate it.

so maybe I hate sleep the most?

I was about to say Confusion, until I took into consideration that it wears off after a few turns and also is cured if you switch Pokemon. So I have to say Poison. It takes a decent amount of health from you each turn, and the only way to get rid of it is to heal your Pokemon in a Pokemon Center or use some sort of medicine or berry. Not to mention that it is the only status that affects your Pokemon even after the battle ends.

I've only played Pokémon for the first 2 generations. I plan on playing more, but I just haven't had the time lately. Anyways, the most annoying status condition for me would be the poison condition. If you don't have any antidotes with you (or any berries that cure poison), then yeah, you're in trouble.

I don't mean to go off track here, but what really annoys me is that I can't poison a Pokémon when I use poison sting. Every single time I run into a wild Tentacool or a Spinarak or a Weedle (or something similar with poison sting, you get the idea), it poisons me! If I'm trying to raise a new Pokémon I just caught, I don't want it to be poisoned and faint, because I don't want it to dislike me. But I NEVER poison a Pokémon when I use poison sting, but yet when I wild one uses it against me, it ALWAYS poisons me! Uhhh...that bugs the crap out of me! >

Sorry to get off topic. I just had to get that off my chest.

tgags123 : Believe it or not, poison only lasts during the battle now, I don't remember which game changed that, but in pokemon X and Y, you can walk around freely with a poisoned pokemon and they don't lose any health like they didn't in prior generations. Still though, it is still VERY annoying to deal with because it takes a little more HP away each and every turn...I think 35 to 40 at most, or it might depend on how much hp your pokemon has.

Singelli : Yeah I am glad they changed it in pokemon x and made it so that poison only lasts in battle. I would prefer having the chance to attack, and possibly take damage later, rather than always lose health each turn, or be left not being able to do anything at all. I like inducing sleep on myself, for pokemon with high Hp, using rest and having a chesto berry (which lets you use rest and then wake up in the same turn) is a great stalling combo.

Eniitan : Yeah, I always carry a bunch of full restores and hyper potions just in case, because you never know when you might need them when going up against a tricky opponent.

Razor-987 : Really? I didn't know that. Probably because I have never played any gen 6 games, and I don't really remember gen 5 that well. Huh. Well that is a good thing. It is still probably my least favorite status condition, though.

For me it use to be confusion cause I use to have the worst luck whenever one of my Pokemon is confused. But now poison just has to be the worst condtion EVER. It gets worse and worse within each passing turn during the battle. Prior to generation 6 whenever your Pokemon was poisoned, outside of battle your Pokemon would still lose it's hp. I disliked having my Pokemon faint on me whenever I just made it in front of the Pokemon Center.

Being Paralyzed is also horrible but I'm not even going to start on that ..

Razor-987 :  I've never thought about using sleep on my own Pokémon... that would suck!  Do you do that a lot?  How does it help?  Waiting for stronger Pokémon to run out of moves, or if you've affected them with a status like poison?

Well it is close between freeze and poison because freeze can last forever if you are unlucky and that has happened to me before. All though it is very rare when you do get freezed it is very annoying. I guess that is why there is no move to instantly freeze the target. It would be too overpowered and actually now that I think about it even moves that can freeze you have a low chance of doing so when moves that can poison you have like a 30% chance.

Since poison has a higher chance of happening and have bad results if you keep that pokemon battling I say poison.

I think Confusion, Poison, Sleep, and Paralysis are tied for being the worst status ailment in Pokémon. Those are the 4 stages of hell in Pokémon. When either of those status ailment hit my Pokémon, I picture these words in my mind: Resistance is futile, BIATCH!

I know you could only choose one, but combine Paralysis and Confusion and good lord; you have a recipe for disaster! If you attack you have three options;
1. You will be affected by the paralysis, causing nothing to happen.
2. You will hit yourself, giving your opponent an extra boost.
3. There is an ungodly rare chance you will actually hit something other than yourself!
Rule of thumb; bring status healing items with you at all times!

The status effect I don't like the most is the confusion effect, mostly that most of your attacks don't attack your opponent and ends up hurting yourself. Not just that, but you also waste a move, and that's bad when you have a low PP number like 5 or so.
Also, they ain't a healing item to use to cure it other than the Full Heal/Full Restore items.

Also, Paralysis can also be annoying as well, because half of the time, you can't attack at all. Having both Paralysis and Confusion, you might as well say that your Pokemon is faded because 80% chance that you'll never attack your opponent and if your in a battle, you can't run or anything.

Ingame wise poison since 9/10 early game and there is poison pokemon or pokemon that can use poison causing moves I always get poisoned always losing at one pokemon while trying to get to a pokemon center since I don't carry antidotes ever.
Competition wise paralysis since you have to make every move count and if you end up can't moving you end up losing due to needing that one hit or setup.

I was a bit torn between poison and confusion but I say that poison is the worst status condition for any Pokemon. Poison affects both battles and walking. It can be rather annoying trying to rush to a nearby Pokemon center and then one of your Pokemon end up dying in the process. Also, I am not the type to constantly buy items to restore status condition problems since I rather save my money for more important things. With my bad luck, I somehow get one of my Pokemon poisoned by other Pokemon 80% of the time.

In my opinion its a three way tie between poison confusion and burn.Poison doesn't go away hurts your pokemon outside of battles and badly poison is just the worst the damage just builds up thank God they fixed your pokemon getting hurt y poison outside of battles in gen 5.Confusion is just straight up annoying and only if your lucky you'll snap out of the confusion.Burn does damage and 1/2 your attack.

Only sleep has actually screwed me over. I have never lost a battle by the other conditions. Confusion does nothing to me (could be very lucky) and I am usually have enough items when dealing with Poison.
