Do you play chess? Do you like chess? Are you good at chess?

I like chess, but I am not very good at it. I understand how to play, but I can only think about one move at a time. I can't think 5 moves ahead like the really good chess players do.

Today at camp, my friend Anthony (a CIT) brought in a mini chess set because one of his campers wanted to play. Anthony is pretty good at chess. The little 5 year old kid kicked his butt! They played again and the little camper won again! Then I played him and he beat me too! He is a chess genius that guy. He is so good.

Anyway, what do you think about chess? Do you think that that little camper could beat you?

I do play chess sometimes, I like to play it, and I am not very good at it at all. I also understand how to play, like I know what all the pieces can do. I just wish I was better at the strategy part of the game. The little camper you were talking about probably could beat me. I remember one of my friends taught me how to play in high school. He was pretty good at it, and I did beat him a few times. But I am no match against someone who really knows what they're doing. Its like golf...I love to play it, but I wish I was just better at it.

I love chess, but I haven't played it in so long that I'd probably suck at it. I remember joining the chess team during my 11th grade year, and I think I only wanted to because it made me feel smart. Our physics teacher was the coach, and he was a pretty arrogant guy. In fact, he always told us that the reason he became a teacher was so he could be the smartest person on the room. However, most of us absolutely adored him because he was really 'cool' and easy to get along with. Plus, he was the definition of super cute nerd.

Anyways, I always fancied myself better than most of our teammates, and it was probably true. However, that was simply because they were terrible players.  I wouldn't do well at all if I were to play now.  I do believe that you get better with chess the more you play it, however.  I'd love to start playing again and developing those critical thinking skills.

I used to be a chess nerd in Middle School. Even went to a few tournaments and did alright, placing near the middle of field each time. I just wish I had stayed into it, because I do not remember all of my tricks and traps like I used to.

Yeah, I loved chess. I used to practice with my dad, and I remember that day where I beat him for the first time.

Haven't played in a long time, probably because the chess pieces are broken and I can't find an opponent, but I still like Chess and still know how to play.
