Background: Hello, I'm Ultra Jeff, reviewing a game that needs no introduction... The ocarina of time! What's to say about this game that hasn't been said before? Well, I'll tell you what I think of it. Don't take this the wrong way, this is just how I feel.
Graphics. I only think the graphics are decent, really. Hyrule pops with color, and it shows in the vibrant, lush, expansive environments. The characters are simple yet expressive. Everything has that distinct Zelda feel. They were great for N64 standards. Now, while they are well defined, they are only satisfactory to me.
Sound: It is quite wonderful. Certain songs like Zelda's Lullaby and the Song of Storms really are just quite memorable and get stuck in your head, having you hum along to them all the time.
Story: The plot is actually quite simple yet practical. The game focuses on Link, a Hylian boy without a fairy who must travel the world and discover his destiny. Along the way, he meets wonderful friends, fierce enemies and explores the world like he never thought before. He obviously has to stop Ganon from getting the Tri-force and ruling the world. It is very simple and short, but acceptable for this game in the slightest.
Game play: The game revolves around collecting items and fighting rampant monsters, while progressing in the game's story. Navi guides you and informs you about the current situation. You eventually find Epona, and you are able to engage in stylish, convenient horseback riding.
Depth & Game Difficulty: The depth is unsatisfactory. You usually go from one location to another, while talking to NPCs, buying items, and traversing dangerous dungeons. While it isn't bad, it certainly isn't anything too amazing. The game isn't too terrible difficult, as enemies are easy to defeat and hints are abundant. It's simple and straightforward.
Ocarina of time is truly a decent game, and i don't need to go on forever about what makes it such. It has quite the enormous reputation, though that shouldn't be a factor. I personally don't adore this game, but maybe you might. Play it yourself and see if it's worthy of the moniker of "Best Game".
