Have you ever had a pet you love die? How did you deal with it, emotionaly I mean? When my first cat, Kiki, died (or rather 'disappeared' since she was an outdoor cat) I didn't deal with it. I shut down emotionally towards her memory and it only hit me a week or so later. So I'm wondering... how did you poeple deal with your pets death, if it has occured that is?

When my pet died, it was really hard to cope with. I was on the phone with my Mother when she told me that my aunt had decided to put my cat down. The cat was a boy and his name was Fred. My mom is trying to find a picture from when I was like 2 years old when aparently I was hugging ht cat so hard I was choking him.

As for how I physically coped, I changed my Vizzed picture and my Facebook picture to the last picture I took of him, which was actually back in March. I am surprised he let me take it too, becuase he was never one for pictures.

I never really had too many pets to begin with all thanks to my dad. He only said I could have a fish or a snake. I obviously chose to have the fish. He brought back home one of those sharks that don't grow ( I forget the name of it). I was terrified of that thing at first cause I always thought it would jump out it's tank eat my fingers off. I eventually named him Snappy. After being with Snappy for some time I got use to it and wasn't scared anymore. Than one day I noticed Snappy suddenly died when I was just coming back from school.

I never knew how Snappy died but I didn't have him long enough to really feel any pain. Of course I was sad but my dad just got me a goldfish instead and that also died as well. I sadly don't remember that goldfish's name cause I had that one for even a much shorter time than Snappy. I always wished I had a kitten or dog but my dad wouldn't let me. I later on found out the reason why. I had a kitten for 4 days as an graduation gift from my mom and my dad was sneezing like crazy. Didn't know he was allergic to them.

I've had 3 cats in my lifetime. They all were indoor cats, and all of them have lived past 10 years. For some reason, cats really love me. I've always lived with a cat. I've never NOT had a cat to take care of.

The first cat I had was Molly. She was 2 years old when I was born. My mom still (and will always) has a picture album full of pictures of me and Molly. She was all black and had green eyes. She developed a kidney problem when she was about 12 years old, and never recovered. She died from kidney failure.

Another cat I had was Leah. We got her because we felt that Molly needed a friend to play with, and they did. They played with each other like they were siblings. It was really something else. I moved in with my wife when Leah was about 10 years old. It was only a couple years ago that Leah was bitten by a neighbor's dog that she never recovered from.

But my favorite cat is my current cat, Zoey. She is currently 13 years old and is doing great! Whenever I call her name, she comes over to me, kind of like a dog. She is always by my side when I am home with her. When I first met my current wife, I noticed she had a cat, and we instantly clicked.

The bottom line is, if you lose a cat, just get another one. It might take some time to get over the old one, depending on how much you loved it, but in time you'll simply just forget about it. Pets die...sometimes it happens too soon, but thats the way life is.

When My dog died, things got real ugly, because when I was 12 and living in Amherst, my friend had a really lazy cousin even he hated from Miami, and he forced my dog outside on the streets, killing him from passing cars. It made me so angry I kicked him in the stomach, making him vomit. I recovered from the depression of my dog's death in 1 month, but I got more violent. and I just heard that the kid from Miami is now in Prison for animal abuse.

Now that you mention it, my dog died last week....he was 12 years old....sure he had a good life, but I still felt sad about it. He was quite a large dog and he stayed outside most of the time because he was too big to be an inside pet....I just feel like he deserved more care and just a better life in general, he died the day right after the 4th July, I was going to the backyard to put away some yard tools in the shed and I noticed that his food and water bowl hadn't been touched since the day before, plus he didn't run up to the gate when I opened it because that is something he usually does. I called his name a few times and he didn't come to me.....then I walked to the corner of the yard and saw him just laying their motionless.....

Bottom line is, it was just very unexpected and I had to be the one to break the news to my family since they didn't know....it was a very tough loss for all of us...I hope he is resting peacefully in heaven.

Luckily, I've only had to deal with one pet's death.  We had the cat most of our childhood, so watching him die (he was in too much pain from old age and had to be put down by the vet) was a very, very hard thing for my family. I didn't expect to cry, but I bawled like a baby.  It didn't help that my little brother was practically a baby himself and didn't understand what was going on.

I know what it feels like now though, so I don't THINK I would be that affected again. I don't know, however... I do love my Dorito awfully much.

My Bernese Mountain Dog died near the end of last year. She was just over 7 years old and had been fighting cancer for a long time. Although it was sad to know we had to put down, It was certainly more sad to watch her suffer day after day because of the cancer. In the end I just embraced the fact that it was what was best, that it was her time and although I will miss her, events can't be changed and that my life shouldn't stop for her death. This is how I deal with basically all deaths.

I don't think I was too bothered by it at the time, though it was in 1997, 1998, or 1999, at a time when I never really cared for anything and was too engrossed in wanting to learn things and watch the news (and other decent television shows, plus cartoons...). Even now that I think about it, and whenever I do, it doesn't really bother me - I've got many fonds memories of him, Chan a mongrel, but I was too young to be emotional about a pet~

Honestly, I have had many of my pets die. I end up crying especially if I'm very attached to that paticular pet. I end up telling myself that I'm okay when sometimes I really am not. I boddle up my feelings inside when it comes to some things and animals have a close place within my heart. My sister on the other hand is way more emotional than I am and that's saying something. A big something really. I miss my pets and wish I still had them. My cat disappeared not long ago and I wish he would just come up and I would have him again.

I've lost several cats in my lifetime. The only others pets I have owned who died were fish, so not too emotional.

Molly was an old cat. Before I was born, my family brought this cat into their home and called her Family.' Until the age of six I merely had a curiosity for Molly, like most other babies. When I finally had the ability to remember things, I decided that I didn't like her. She hissed at me, spat at me, and did that funny slapping thing they do with their paws to me. Despite this, I still didn't hate her and knew I should give her some distance. I finally started to hate her when I saw a cat outside the window of our house. The cat was walking along the grass outside and moved away from the window I stood at. So I went to the window to my right so that I could view it again. Apparently, Molly didn't like that. She jumped on me and sunk her teeth into my shoulder. I screamed and flailed until I had the sense to get help from my parents who were sitting on the couch. The cat still hanging onto my shoulder, I jumped into their arms and waited until they were able to pry the cat away from me. Molly then trotted off, apparently satisfied. I believe she attacked because she was at unease with the strange cat outside the window she was sitting at.
Later, my dad joked that she saw me as a tasty deer.
They told me she was just a cat and didn't mean to do anything, but the damage was done to the six-year-old me. I banded together with my other young brother  against my two old siblings to try to get rid of the cat. Eventually, our parents caved in and sent the cat away. When she died, I had very little emotion.
I still have scars on my shoulder.

Another cat that I lost, Max, was completely different. When he died I cried and cried. He was the model cat, always playing around and being adorable. He was also a bit fat. His death was a complete surprise, and we suspect it was due to heart failure. We buried him in the backyard, underneath the porch swing. It had to be one of the saddest days of my life.

I lost my dog two years ago.  He was almost seventeen years old.  I didn’t deal with it very well. I was very hurt and angry over losing him and it took me a while to cope with it.  Pets are family and my dog has been there for me through a lot of stuff so it was/is very difficult for me because of the bond I shared with him. I have lost a couple of pets in my lifetime, but my dog was with me for the longest period of time so it hit me really hard.   It is a difficult thing to deal with when someone you love passes, but it’s good to remember the good times and the memories you shared. It is also good to talk to someone about your feelings.

I used to maintain an aquarium in which i kept all kinds of fish. Eventually all of these fish died. However, i had no real emotional connection to them, so i never bothered to mourn. However, i think if my cat were to die, I'd be a lot sadder. He's always been a great cuddler and companion, and i think I'd have to spend quite a bit of time getting over the loss.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
