This is perhaps the worst place to come find help.  We can do math and a lot of us are probably good at it but you need something more interactive.  I'm sure you can find youtube videos and basics when it comes to the logic behind math and how it works.  You can find hundreds of websites dedicated to trig or algebra or both and study from there.

This website is meant as a distraction with some social connections.  It isn't meant to be a place to really get down and work hard with things like math.  We have a few forums dedicated to school but most posts are people complaining or talking about their experiences, not working.

I taught Algebra II w/ Trig for five years and I absolutely adore the course.  I actually created a few threads in my forum for knowledge on the topic of trig.  I can certainly help out.

warmaker : *sniffles* Forget about someone?

Personally, I think vizzed is an open forum for distractions AND work... should people choose so.  It's been used for whatever purposes people want it to be used for. If people can ask for advice about health, why not school?

thetruemasterofgames : It's good that you aren't waiting until next year to get started. You have 2 months to get ready so if I were you, I would get a few small books and start reading them on your own maybe twice a week and you should have a decent head start once September comes around.

Getting help from others is always great, but combining that with personal research is the right idea.

I'll be taking that next year as well. I'm pretty scared. I am so bad at math and I hear that the course is very difficult. I feel like I should have failed Geometry this year and Algebra 1 last year, but I somehow managed to get a 90 both years. Hopefully I can do the same next year.

tgags123 :  I feel like most of my students were in that same predicament. Made good grades but came to me knowing absolutely nothing, and probably shouldn't have passed their earlier classes

Maybe if there are a lot of you taking Algebra II / Trig, we should set up a weekly tutoring session or something?  We could even do it through vizzed chat thanks to the cams and all.

As for the articles I wrote (and articles on other subjects), they can be found here.

God bless, and love you all!

Singelli : If I am having trouble with it, I will definitely let you know. I have had really bad math teachers in the past. I think if I have a good teacher I will understand it better. I used to be really good at math in 7th grade, but I had bad teachers in 8th and 9th and I really didn't understand what they were teaching. I tend to just end up teaching myself.

Singelli : I'm not pooh-poohing you.  I'm certain you do a great job but I think this isn't a good format.  It's just not fluid enough.

Maybe I'm wrong.  Maybe this will work.  I think there are better resources that are simply more responsive.  You can read multiple articles on how to understand the logic of math, whereas perhaps waiting for an answer here is frustrating.

It's not a question of your teaching skill.  It's a question of efficiency.

Sadly, the math system in the Netherlands is different here but I know what you can do if you want to get really good.

First of all, always make your homework, math is just practicing, more practicing and even more practicing.

Second, try to make extra exercises if there are any and if you don't get what the answer is ask the teacher about them.

Third, practice practices that are difficult or which you did wrong at first.

Fourth, try to make up simple rules to memorize things.

This is all I know of, I hope it can help you in a way like it helped me, good luck
