So, today the TdV has started and alexanyways his 'Trials of Vizzed' as well. His challenge for today is:

"Day 1 Make a unique thread about your favourite game.
Thread can be in any forum it fits.
Thread must be unique from the other threads about the game, and must provide great detail about the subject.
If this is not possible because your game has a ton of threads about it, move on to the next game in your top games list.
Best thread wins, post for me a link to your thread in here.
Best of luck err body."

alexanyways : Well Alex, I don't see this as my favourite game as I have not a real favourite game. I like New Super Mario Bros a lot though since it was my first DS game but I am playing this game on my mobile phone currently so I decided to make a thread about this game.

I've played this game many times now because I like platformers as Kirby. Here are some of my opinions:

Favourite ability: Cutter. This ability allows you to throw sharp boomerangs at enemies and bosses. It's very good for hitting monsters in front of you.

Least favourite ability: Sleep. This ability isn't good for anything except for making you sleep. You even don't get any HP or something like that. Just worthless but it's cute to see Kirby sleeping.

Favourite enemy: Noddy. Although it gives out the sleep ability they are just so darn cute and they can't really harm you.

Least favourite enemy: Sword Knight. This guy gives you an awesome sword to attack with but it's in state to block some of your attacks with this sword which is very dangerous.

Favourite world: Yogurt Yard. The fifth world has really cool levels and a cool mid-boss (Bonkers) and takes place in and outside a mountain.

Least favourite world: Orange Ocean. I like this world but the water levels are very annoying and I had a lot of trouble with some of the levels here. But Meta Knight, its boss is very cool though.

Favourite Boss: Like I said, I love Meta Knight. He fights very different compared to other bosses since he doesn't have a pattern but will use attacks depending on what you do. It also has a cool design and when you have completed the Extra mode of the game 100% you will be able to play the game with Meta Knight and his super cool and useful attacks.

Least favourite boss: Heavy Mole. This guy fights different than the other bosses as he doesn't directly attack Kirby, he's busy drilling through the ground. But the hard point about this guy is that the screen moves with him. So you can be flattened because the screen moves down while you're standing on a high part. It's also very hard to damage him as you have to wait long before an opportunity and he can drill upwards and downwards so you constantly have to follow him.

Also, I've been playing the minigames and while I had a load of fun with Meta Nightmare (where you control Meta Knight), I had a lot of trouble with Boss Endurance, where all the bosses are fought and you have just one life. It's very difficult and I haven't been able to finish it.

Well, that's a bit of info about this game. I hope you liked this thread and share your opinions about this game if you want to.

Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland is awesome!  Although now it feels somewhat unresponsive compared to Return to Dreamland, it still holds up well.  My favorite boss is the World 5 boss, the driller thing.  Although it's a breeze (pun intended) with Tornado, I like playing with sword and other copy abilities for fun.

juuldude : It will make you never, ever want to play another Kirby game, except maybe Epic Yarn and Triple Deluxe.  It's amazing!  It's simple, but brilliantly executed and features co-op.  It's still pricey ($50 at Gamestop), but worth it, since you love Kirby.  On Amazon, though, it's almost $100 new.

Oh hey, I love Nightmare in Dreamland! That was probably the first Kirby game I ever played and to this day it stays one of my favorites. Have you unlocked Meta-Knightmare mode yet? That's real fun... I beat the game in Meta-Knightmare mode once and all it shows it artwork of Meta Knight. That was kinda disappointing.

For me:

Favorite Ability - I agree that Cutter is pretty awesome, but my favorite has to be Ball Kirby. It's so fun!
Least Favorite Ability - I'm pretty sure everyone would pick sleep.
Favorite Enemy - Waddle-Dees. Although they don't give Kirby an ability, they're so darn cute and helpless!
Least Favorite Enemy - UFOs... Those guys are so hard to beat.
Favorite World - I loved Butter Building. Dunno why.
Least Favorite World - Orange Ocean. Screw water levels!
Favorite Boss - A tie between Meta Knight and King Dedede. MK is difficult and unique, just like 3D.
Least Favorite Boss - Kracko. Too lazy to explain why

supernerd117 : Wow, it's that good? It looks really cool when I take a look at the Kirby wiki its page. If it's a return to Dreamland, does that mean that many of the same worlds and bosses will appear? I saw that many of the abilities return.

juuldude : I believe that all of the bosses are new, although many enemies return.  Although it's a return to Dreamland, the levels are all new as well.  In just about every level, a specific ability is need to obtain one of the many optional gears throughout the game.  These gears unlock optional gauntlets, abilities, and mini-games.

Also, the abilities are re-worked, too.  You'll feel like a boss ramming an enemy with your sword, flinging it up into the air, then pummeling it down into the ground.  The abilities allow so much more freedom and are so much more fluid compared to other Kirby games.

And there's a new-game plus option.  You can play through the game, then play again against harder bosses and enemies do more damage, although the levels aren't reworked for the most part.  I think that the "bonus zones" throughout the levels are more fast-paced, though.

Lastly is the best part of the game, The Arena and The True Arena, once you've beat the game.  This pits you against all the main bosses of the game back-to-back and in random order.  In The True Arena, they are more difficult to beat.  But that mode is an absolute blast, and you can choose which ability you want to start with, too.
