My favorite game is Streets of Rage 3, because it has the fastest and best gameplay of the series. It is very deep compared to the other games, as it has a lot more to offer, such as unlockable characters, multiple endings, and good gameplay mechanics and level design. I'll post a review on its page some day to further go into detail.

Bare Knuckle III is the original Japanese version of Streets of Rage 3, which was edited by SEGA of America for a Western release. Some edits, such as raising the difficulty and letting you enter your name when you complete the game, are improvements. Other edits, such as removing the battle quotes and censoring some parts of the game were unnecessary. So, in case you were wondering, that's why Bare Knuckle III is on the list of options.

Mine also is streets of rage 3. I love how the gameplay turned out to be. I do like the others but, not as much as streets of rage 3. Its something I would play over and over again. And hey, you can also play against a friend, or maybe get them to join you story mode wise. Its a real fun game to play and along that, is the soundtracks. The music is just too awesome, and something you would listen to a lot. ^-^

Mine is the second. I love the music, the graphics are great, the game play is dead on, and the controls are perfect. To me, Streets of Rage 2 is what a Beat em Up should be and the standard I hold the whole genre to. I also love the first one but I will always enjoy the second more.

It is also the only one that I can beat because the other ones are just really hard on the american versions. It also seems to have the best super attacks because of those police attacks even when you are in a hotel or on an elevator they find a way for the police to get on there.
