There's going to be 1 hour worth of Downtime within the next 24 or so hours.

I've upgraded the vizzed server and godaddy will be installing another 1 GB of RAM to the server anytime between now and tomorrow and the site will be down for up to 1 hour during this maintenance.

I've noticed Vizzed Board is still slow sometimes and I'm gonna make sure to get it up to speed no matter how much traffic it gets and no matter how much it costs me.

I should've got 2 GB of RAM in the first place but the price difference was pretty big and I didn't think it was needed but the rate which vizzed is growing, gonna need as much resource as possible.

Plus you have to consider Vizzed, VizzedBoard, and Get-Your-Rom is all on the same server, so that's a lot of stress on the server. 2 GB should be plenty good. Maybe one day when I get a new computer, I could give this one to you for it to be a server, because it's plenty powerful and would be cheaper.

We are waiting to get 2 servers till the time is right and we are able to afford and deal with the trouble involved with it. One specifically for the RGR and another for the board itself is what I have in mind.

Actually it's cheaper to just get 1 powerful server rather than 2 not so powerful servers.

Apparently the RAM has been added, I guess it was scheduled 3 or so hours earlier than I originally thought. I don't see a huge improvement but let me know what you guys think.

I think stuff is loading a lot faster, at least with the feature I am making. Before took a bit to load the page but now loads really fast. Might be cause everyone is asleep though. Either way it should help a lot since it's basically double the ram we just had.

Still though, on average there are probably around 150 or so people on the site at one time including GYR, and lots of queries are being executed so that will always make it seem slow.

Your recent fixes though have really helped a lot in speed so maybe the issue might still be some of the code. For example, the code on the index page doesn't display mods right so there is a good chance that we need to optimize some of pages a bit more, maybe not query wise but how the php is coded would be my guess.

at least for me. I'm still running about 1mb/s download on those cartoons and the board is loading quite a bit faster than it was. I'll be even more impressed once those are done and the board loads even faster.

Loading time at the bottom of the screen was under 2 seconds. I'm pleased

Ok well I still think I'm gonna get a new server at the end of the month, one with the same RAM but one with better CPU. Of course, I will make 1 more attempt at optimizing the php performance of the board though because I have a feeling that something in the board code is causing some lag.

I don't know if this information will help you out or not, but every time the board DOES lock out on me, it's always on line 36, so it's probably something between the first and 36th lines in your coding. But I'm no expert, so that's not a guarantee.

Usually a pop-up appears during the same time too asking for login info. So if it ever happens again it is most likely due to server strain and not an error in the code.

Reason why is because we have a policy of testing with drafts before implementing stuff live, so there is a bigger possibility of it being a server issue rather then in an actual error in the script.

That PopUp asking for Login info is usually the result of the SQL server crashing which it hasn't done in a long time. Have you got that login box recently Jigsaw?
