Ugh...why do i keep doing this..? Why do i keep reviewing Pokemon that i hate...? Well i think i have found out the answer.In case you have not caught on yet,The running theme for my reviews this year Is that i am completely bored out of my skull,And i am put in the position where i am practically forced to review Pokemon i hate,And try to avoid.Such as fan favorites. And legendary's.Now why is that? 1.It is the only way to stay relevant,At the moment.My reviews are good...I hate to sound like i'm bragging.But they are good,However.Lets face it.Your not going to be completely Dedicated,And wait two weeks for a review to get uploaded are you? No.Chances are,Most of you won't.So i need to get my little "fanbase" Growing again,Before i review more casual Pokemon.I need to review heavy hitters,Because if you see a pokemon you like,Your going to click on this link..I promise you,You will click on the link.You may not leave a comment. Or you may just look at the descr 2.It is actually keeping me interested.I try to avoid fan favorites because,They are boring.And if i give it a bad review...You know what happens next.I was somehow able to get by with the lucario review.But trust me,That will not happen often.I Have been reviewing Pokemon for just a little bit over a year now,I think i have gotten to the point where I know when a review is going to succeed,Or fail.And actually.It's kind of fun taking a risk,And seeing what people think of the review.It's like running across the train track when the train is about to fly by. So i guess i should entertain myself more,By reviewing another fan favorite.Goodra.This Pokemon may not be so big now,But trust me.When X and Y was about to come out,Everyone Loved this thing. Anyone remember this? https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=67168 And i tried to stay away from this Pokemon as long as possible.But,I guess i could review it.I suppose this is gen 6's "Fluke indie Pokemon hit" Much like lucario was for gen 4 And how Charizard was for gen 1.You know? It's just an odd Pokemon,That won the heart of so many players.And it's time for me to take my shot at it.So final question. Will this review succeed,Or fail? Well,As Keima Katsuragi would say. "I can see the ending..." Moveset ................................................................................................................................................................................ Alright,For those who don't know.I review Pokemon with evolutions,In there final form...That did not sound right did it? Okay.Let's say i review Blaziken? (Pfft) I would not review.Torchic.I would review Blaziken.And that review would also cover my thoughts on Torchic.And combusken.And i will start from when the Pokemon gets it's first move.(Even though it would technically be impossible for you to get a lv5 goodra without mods) And it just so happens that i am using mods.So let's get this started. Starting moves. Outrage. Feint. Tackle Bubble. Well that was..Interesting.. All of these moves are good.Except feint.Maybe you won't be so bad goodra? Absorb,5:Absorb is..Rather weak.Sure it is good early on.But it;s basically going to lose it's tempo after level 15.It's still effective for now though.I just switched Feint out for this. Protect,9: Situational.Done. Bide,13:Um..It can be somewhat effective.But i would not recommend it. Dragon breath,18:YES! Something good.This move has a base attack damage of 60,And has 100% accuracy.And it has a 30% chance of paralyzing the target.TAKE IT! Rain Dance,25: This can be effective.But only if you have a set goal for what you want Goodra to be.You know? What moves you want it to have.What stats you want to focus on. Flail,28:...It's okay.Nothing more will be said. Body slam,32: Great.Great.Great.Great.Great.Take it. Muddy water,38: Jesus.How is this Pokemon getting such a sudden burst of good moves?! Dragon Pulse,47: Not one of my favorties,But very effective.I would just stick with what i got.But then again,You do need a good dragon type move.So take it if you want. Aqua tail,50:Hmm...Stick with Mudddy Water. Power Whip,55: Power whip is quite simple.Yet incredibly effective.Now it does have 85% accuracy.And long time readers of these reviews will know i prefer accuracy over power.But,I can give this one a pass. Outrage,63: I covered this... Stats ................................................................................................................................................................................ HP,90: Pretty decent.I actually expected this to be alot worse. Attack,100: Goodra does have a bit of decent physical moves in it's moveset,And pretty decent tms.So this will just boost the power of those moves even more Defense,70: A bit weak.But passible. Sp.ATK,110: This will work.Especially when you get some tms for Goodra. Sp.DEF,150: I would much rather have this stat switched with Goodra's Special attack stat.But i suppose this work.Granted,Not much is going to be able to harm you with this stat.which is appreciated.But it's just a preference. Death the kid:Your a bit unappreciative you know? Relinquish: Go back into my inner psyche kid. Speed,80: Oh this is going to suck.This is the one stat that dragged me down during my testing phase.And it is SO annoying.Like to an extreme degree.So be prepared. And finally we have weaknesses.Your Suprisingly not going to have to many problems.All you have to worry about is.Ice,Fairy.And dragon. That's it.And that is awesome.Granted.Those types are alot more common now,But it should not be to much of a problem.As for defenses.Fighting types are most likely your best defense against ice types in the game.Even more then fire types.Dragons are always tricky to counter.There's an old saying me and my friends thought of along time ago,It went like this. "The only way to beat a dragon type,Is to use a stronger dragon type" And that is...Not true.But you get my point.Fairy types are actually quite easy to defeat.All you need are poison and steel types.not even that.Just poison and steel type moves. And finally leveling...It is slow.It is terrible.And it is depressing. Abilities. ................................................................................................................................................................................. 1.Sap Sipper:This ability is actually quite cool.Let's say Goodra was hit with a grass type move? It's attack stage will be increased by one stage.And the move will have no effect.That is awesome..However.I don't even think the a.i is that stupid. 2.Hydration: This is will cure any status condition.As long as you are in the rain...Well.To quote Alex from a clockwork orange "I'm singing in the rain.Just singing in the rain" If you know what a Clockwork Orange is,You are now scarred for life...did i spell that right? Hidden ability Gooey: This is possibly Goodra's best ability.If Goodra is hit by a Physical move.It will decrease the attackers speed by 1 stage...That is awesome.That is unique.And that is Heavenly. Tms and Hms ................................................................................................................................................................................. Earthquake. Rain Dance Thunderbolt Outrage or Ice beam. Earthquake: In my opinion.Earthquake is literally a perfect move.There is almost nothing wrong with it. Rain dance: Do you know how many benifets you get in the rain? Granted,It is a bit.."gimmicky" But it can work. Thunderbolt:This move is incredibly powerful.Even when you don't have a type advantage. Outrage or Ice beam: Advantages of both.You get a defense against dragon type Pokemon.I prefer ice beam.Why? Well here is how i think of it.Ice beam is like a cool and slick dagger that is assured to kill its target.Outrage is like a gigantic 2 handed battle axe that is powerful.But requires a bit more restraint to use.It's all personal preferance really. And that is the most effective thing i could come up with.And that work pretty well.However If you have any suggestions.Feel free to post them down below. Rivals.Gyms.And Elite 4. ................................................................................................................................................................................. Rivals: Goodra is going to be very effective against your rival.But don't think it can tank the entire enemy team Gyms: Every thing i said about 'Rivals" Just apply it here. Elite 4  hould you take Goodra to the elite 4...Maybe,It has the power to win.But i cannot lead a team.Just take it,But don't rely on it.Final thoughts: ............................................................................................................................................................................... Goodra is...Pretty good,Though.I hesitate to call it great. It has a hit and miss moveset.That honestly feels clumsly and unfocused. It's stats are most likely the best thing about it,Along with it's hidden ability.It's decently effective against the a.i.And it is a breath of fresh air.Though is has some problems Not to a degree where it destroys the Pokemon.But they are noticable.The moveset is my biggest problem.I mean it just makes no sense.This feels like an odd mix of everything.And trying to make the ultimate all around dragon type.But it failed.However,Does that make it a bad Pokemon.NO,Not even close.This Pokemon is good.Very good. And it's just those flaws that hold it back.And i honestly had alot of fun with it.This leads me to giving Goodra an overall score of. Final rating: 3.9/5 Sadly..Goodra does not earn the Agent Of Awesomeness badge. Some of you may be asking "Why? This Pokemon should be in that category.It suprised you.It got a rating close to 4/5.And it's just a good pokemon" Well here is why.This Pokemon STINKS.Of something called "Accidental genius" This Pokemon seems like it was a freaking fluke.It just came out of nowhere.And got so many people to like it But..Okay,I hate to sound cocky,But when you do this for over 90 reviews.You start to notice somethings.This Pokemon is like what would happen if gamefreak decided to make The best pizza in the world.But instead of carefully carving and experimenting with different things.They just put random crap on the pizza,And hoped that it would tatse good And it just so happens,That it tasted good. My biggest argument is the moveset.Just go to bulbapedia or something and look at it.Does that seem right to you? Just take a moment to look at it.That moveset is just random flavors mixed together.And i am not going to give my "Elite rating" To a Pokemon i feel is not trying there best at.But maybe i am just paranoid. For alternate Pokemon recommendations,I point you towards. Hydreigon: Hydreigon is (In my opinion) A gem.That is nearly perfect. Gardevoir: Gardevoir is like the psychic version of Goodra.In terms of the experience i got out of both of them.They are nearly identical. Kingra: If you want a dragon type Pokemon.With water type Moves.Just use this.DO NOT GO TO GOODRA.This pokemon deserves your attention. Pros ....................... Very defensive.However.Very sturdy and hard to penetrate...Wait a second Could i make a joke here- Seras:I will kill you. Relinquish: Aww.. It's abilities are odd.But when they work,They REALLY FREAKING WORK. Despite what i said.It can actually be a very good aggro attacker. Cons ...........................
