deathbyboredom : I have French and German on my school, and I learn ancient Greek as well but it's not my favourite subject since it's very difficult, especially the verbs. Still, there are some people who really like it though, and one of the easy things of Greek is (compared to Latin) that most of the time the words in a text stand in the right order, so you don't have to shuffle a lot, which you have to do with Latin.

juuldude : If I could speak elvish I would be able to read ancient scrolls and learn of histories and alchemy beyond what can be learned in the common tongue. Though I will not live long enough to even master it, as it can take 100s of years of study to fully understand it's complexities.

I have been learning most japanese when I was young. Even though I watched dubbed versions. I started to watch the sub and loved it. Then I started to talk in small words such as hello, thank you and more. I've watched a lot of anime shows and pick up a lot of things while watching it. I don't only watch. I listen out carefully of how they say sentences and stuff. So that actually is helped me now. Then I would say how I feel in Japanese. And combine those words, that I have learned into sentences. I would say to myself just talk in Japanese how you would talk in English. To make sure it all make sense. ^-^

I've always wanted to be able to speak Japanese... I suspect it's because of anime, so many video games being made in Japan and my fascination with Japan's culture. Don't know if I will ever learn it though maybe sometime in the distant future.
